Here's Transcript of Tino's Adventures of Teen Titans: Aftershock.
Prologue[edit | edit source]
(One day at the pizza place, Tino Tonitini and his friends [along with Doraemon, Noby, Sue, Big G, Sneech, Princess Nella, Trinket, Garrett, Clod, Sunset Shimmer, Sci-Twi, and Spike the Dog] waiting for Serena and his friends)
- Carver Descartes: What's taking the Sailor Scouts and others so long? They should be here.
- Tino Tonitini: Relax Carver, Sakura is getting them right now.
- Princess Nella: And I'm sure they'll show up eventally.
- Trinket: I hope they get here.
- Garrett: Well good thing we have a cute girl on our side. Besides we can't get Serena up by ourselves.
- Sneech: Sure we would, Garrett.
- Sunset Shimmer: So where’s Serena and her friends now?
- Doraemon: Well Sunset Shimmer, I think I see them coming now.
(Then Sakura, Serena Tsukino, and her friends had arrived)
- Sakura Avalon: Hi, everyone. I'm back!
- Lor McQuarrie: It’s about time, what took you all so long?
- Serena Tsukino: Funny you should ask. (Laughs nervously)
- Raye Hino: She overslept.
- Spike the Dog: Again?
- Serena Tsukino: I can't help myself.
- Lita Kino: Same old Serena. She always does that.
- Sakura Avalon: And it’s a good thing that I had Lita to help me to wake her up.
- ???: Hey guys!
(It was Fred, Daphne, and Velma)
- Fred Jones: You guys can't start without us.
- Princess Nella: Hey, glad you can make it, you guys.
- Trinket: But where's -
(Then they see Shaggy and Scooby scream and crash land on the ground)
- Shaggy Rogers: (pop out of the leaves) I guess us chickens can fly after all.
- Fred Jones: Yeah, they just don't know how to land.
- Lita Kino: Shaggy-kins! Glad you made it.
- Shaggy Rogers: Like, I wouldn't miss this for anything in the world, except for food, of course.
- Serena Tsukino: Well then, let’s get going.
- Sci-Twi: Hold It! We can't just leave yet, Serena.
- Serena Tsukino: Wow, man! What do you mean of "We can't just leave yet", Twilight? We’re ready to go on another adventure.
- Sci-Twi: I know we are Serena, but are we missing someone else?
- Noby: Well, apparently, Shido and the others haven’t arrived yet.
- Sakura: I know, what's taking them so long? I mean it doesn't take them that long to get here.
(Then Ash and his friends arrived too)
- Ash Ketchum: Hey! Hey you guys! Over here!
- Tino Tonitini: Hey Ash. Glad you and your friends can make it.
- Misty: That's right.
- Brock: We're not gonna let you go adventuring without us.
- Ash Ketchum: Oh yeah, we've brought an old friend of mine to join us.
(Then Serena arrives)
- Serena: Hey guys.
- Carver Descartes: Serena! It's been a while since we last saw you.
- Serena: Ash asked me to come along, so I'd decided that I should go with you guys.
- Daphne Blake: Well, glad you can join us, Serena.
- ???: Hey guys!
(Then Shido and his friends arrive)
- Shido Itsuka: Sorry we're late.
- Noby: What took you so long, we've been waiting.
- Yoshinon: Let's just say that Kotori was being stubborn as a mule
- Yoshino: Yoshinon.
- Serena Tsukino: Now can we go?
- Tish and Lor: No!
- Clod: We have to wait on Lincoln, his sisters, Littlefoot and his friends before we go.
- ???: And here we are.
(Then Lincoln and his sisters arrive)
- Lincoln: Hey guys. Sorry, we're late. We had a packed situation.
- Luan: So who's your new friend?
- Ash Ketchum: Lincoln. This is my friend, Serena.
- Serena: It's nice to meet you all. And gee, you got a lot of sisters.
- Lincoln: I sure do. I’m Lincoln and these are my sisters: Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lily.
- Lucy: You forget me.
(Lincoln screams in fright)
- Lincoln: Lucy! I always forget about Lucy!
- Serena Tsukino:Your name is Serena? Well, what a coincidence? My name is Serena too.
- Serena: You and I got the same name.
- Shaggy Rogers: Um. Like this is good pizza.
- Scooby-Doo: Yeah, with pickles, too.
- ???: Hey guys!
(Then Littlefoot and his friends arrive)
- Ash Ketchum: Hey Littlefoot, glad you can make it.
- Littlefoot: Yeah, it's been a long journey.
- Serena Tsukino: Now can we go?
- Cera: What's the rush, Serena?
- Petrie: We got here.
- Ducky: We sure did. Yes, yes, yes.
- Tish Katsufrakis: Besides, we haven't came up with anything yet.
(Then Tino has thought of something)
- Tino Tonitini: I think I do.
- Misty: What is it?
- Tino Tonitini: You know our friends, the Teen Titans.
- Noby: Yeah, I remember them.
- Ash Ketchum: Oh I get it! We should go visit them.
- Tino Tonitini: That's the idea.
- Fred Jones: Good idea. Whose in on this?
- Sakura Avalon: I am.
- Amy Anderson: Me too.
- Carver Descartes: I'm totally on board.
- Tish Katsufrakis: Me too.
- Lor McQuarrie: Count me in!
- Sue: Well that's the case then, I would like to fight along side them against evil and criminals.
- Sneech: Yeah, we can do that, too!
- Big G: I'll get a photo and sell it online!
- Princess Knight: If you guys are going, we're going to. We're your friends.
- Garrett: Yeah, friends stick together. Right Trinket?
(Trinket got their attention)
- Trinket: Um. Oh, uh... yeah. Friends stick together. I was totally gonna say that.
- Tohka Yatogami: Sign us up!
- Shido Itsuka: Whoa, easy Tohka. We've never met the Titans.
- Carver Descartes: Oh, you're gonna love the Teen Titans, they're the coolest.
- Ash Ketchum: I've been hearing amazing stories about them battling villains and saving the city so many times. I'll go too.
- Brock: Me too.
- Misty: So will I.
- Serena: Count me and Braixen in too.
- Braixen: Braixen.
- Lincoln: Sign us up.
- Ducky: Hooray!
- Cera: Alright! Let's go!
- Daphne Blake: We gotta let Shaggy and Scooby know.
- Tino Tonitini: Come on you two. We're going to visit the Teen Titans
(Shaggy and Scooby looked at each other and then gets scared as the scene fades)
Meeting Terra[edit | edit source]
(The sun gradually brightening against a black screen. When the view is fully illuminated, we see a rocky landscape, with outcroppings on either side of a broad canyon. It is not long after sunrise. Tilt down slightly to an overhead view of a large scorpion racing toward the first bend, then cut to a close-up of a young girl who runs as if trying to beat the devil in the hundred-yard dash. Seen from the shoulders down, she is very thin, with spindly arms and legs, and roughly the same age as the Titans. Her clothing consists of denim shorts, a light gray long-sleeved shirt, and a dark gray crop top with black sleeves over this. Her hair is long, blond, and straight, and she wears thick brown leather gloves and hiking boots. This is Terra.)
(The camera shifts to frame all of her from behind; this shot reveals that she is heading toward the shore of Jump City Bay and Titans Tower. A butterfly-shaped hair clip can now be seen over her right ear. She turns to look over her shoulder as the pursuer's shadow falls over her, revealing large, light blue eyes that broadcast her fear quite clearly. The scorpion has nearly closed the gap and works its mandibles in anticipation of a meal. As Terra charges ahead, the giant tail is lifted for a strike; it comes down inches from her and throws her off balance. She skids across the ground and rubs her head, finding that her hair clip has been knocked loose to fall nearby. As she reaches for it, that enormous stinger punches into the dirt and again just misses her; she is off and running in an instant, with the creature giving chase.)
(Now she swerves to avoid an outcropping, which is destroyed by a sweep of the scorpion's claws, and vaults over a lower formation to keep ahead. She runs flat out, and the camera cuts to an overhead view and pans quickly ahead to her, then farther ahead to show a dead end not too distant. Cut to it; she stops at the wall of rock and turns to find the beast's shadow falling over her. She cowers against the sheer face as the scorpion prepares to lunge. However, it looks up instead, and the camera tilts up quickly to the ledge on one side of the canyon. Robin leaps down onto it from above. A quick flash of the sun as the camera pulls back, and the other four Titans have joined him there; Beast Boy has become a wolf.)
- Robin: Titans! Go!
(Before any of them can move, though, a tremor shakes the ground. Cut to Terra, whose eyes are now glowing yellow and whose mouth has assumed a cruel smile; her hair blows all around her. The rock beneath the Titans' feet begins to crack and shift, and one end of a natural bridge across the canyon breaks loose and is lifted into the air. Pan to the other side to show that end pulling free as well. Pull back to ground level; she raises her hands and groans with the effort as the slab goes higher and higher. Now her hands are glowing as well: this is her own particular superpower at work. Finally, she brings them down, and the rock drops squarely on top of the scorpion to crush it flat. One final tail spasm and scream of pain, and the thing falls silent.)
(Terra placidly pushes the hair back from the right side of her face, where it has fallen forward due to the lost clip. Starfire looks down from her midair viewpoint confusedly.)
- Starfire: She was not in trouble. (Pull back to frame Cyborg and Raven.)
- Cyborg: She was leading it into a trap! (Pan to Robin.)
- Robin: Question is... (Beast Boy takes human form.)
- Beast Boy: (awestruck) ...Who is she?
(Long overhead shot of Cyborg and Beast Boy; tilt up to a dark fissure in the side of the rock face behind them. Slade steps out of this and looks down on the scene. He has replaced the mask and armor that were damaged at the end of "Apprentice.")
- Slade: (to himself) Don't get too attached, my young friend.
(His perspective of Terra on the end of this, then cut to a close-up of her.)
- Slade: (from o.c.) I saw her first.
(The opening credits roll)
(Then we go to Tino and his friends)
- Tino Tonitini: Well, here we are guys. Jump City
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- Serena: Say, Littlefoot. I'm a little confused about something.
- Littlefoot: Like what, Serena?
- Serena: Well, I don't want to take this the wrong way, but shouldn't dinosaurs like you suppose to be extinct?
- Cera: What?!
- Misty: What our friend was trying to say is that if dinosaurs no longer exist. Right, Serena?
- Serena: Oh, yeah. That's what I meant to say.
- Tino Tonitini: Well Littlefoot and his friends have a cave called the Time Cave that leads to their home called The Great Valley.
- Lincoln Loud: That's right. And they always travel back here with us or we go visit them in their homeworld.
- Princess Nella: You told us that before, right Tino?
- Tino Tonitini: Yeah, Nella, the others and I went over there, even though Twilight already meet Littlefoot and his friends.
- Serena: The Time Cave? I'm must have a look at that cave when Braixen and I get the chance. it must be like a time machine!
- Cera: Well thanks for that information, Captain Obvious!
- Littlefoot: Don't be mean.
- Cera: Why we have to bring let this girl come along?
- Kotori: Because, she's our friend, Cera. Isn't it obvious
- Carver: Kotori does have a point.
- -
- -
- -
- Fred Jones: Can’t you just her a chance of this adventure, Cera.
- Brock: Yeah, come on Cera. Give Serena and Braixen a chance, okay?
- -
- -
- -
- Cera: Aw, alright fine.
- -
- -
- -
- -
- Sci-Twi: I'm getting the feeling that Braixen and Cera are not gonna get along so well.
- Big G: Tell me, something that I don't know.
- Serena: By the way, Tino, can you at least tell me who the Teen Titans are?
- Tino Tonitini: Oh, okay. I'm glad you asked that. The Teen Titans are a group of five superpower teenagers who protect Jump City. Robin is the leader of the team. Before coming here, he used to be a crimefighting sidekick to his mentor and adopted father, Batman. Of course, he never likes to talk about him very much. Starfire, oh you'll love her. She's a happy-go-lucky alien girl from Planet Tamaran with a bubbly personality who just joined the Teen Titans after arriving on Earth. Cyborg is one of the coolest team members I've ever seen. He's a half human and half cybernetic robot who acts as the chief technological expert to the group. Beast Boy is the youngest one of the team. He used to be a member of the Doom Patrol before coming here, and, although his skin is green, he can change into any kind of animal in the animal kingdom. He can even change into animals that are already extinct, which is really cool. And last but definitely not least, there's Raven. Raven is a girl who was born in an inter-dimensional world called Azarath. She's a bit of a loner and a bit dark and mysterious when you meet her. But whenever she springs into action every time there's trouble in the city, you will be amazed at how she uses her incredible powers to save the day. However, they are only driven by emotion. So in order to keep her powers under control, she meditates every day. Which I totally understand.
- Serena: Wow. That is incredible. I would love to know them. Do you think they'll like me?
- Tino Tonitini: Oh, yes, Serena. Yes. They'll love you. They'll even love Ash. But first, give them time to know you so they can understand you more. Because sometimes they can get a bit cautious about meeting new people. They sometimes don't know if a visitor is either a friend or an enemy.
- Serena: Oh... I see.
The Giant Scorpion chases Terra[edit | edit source]
(In the canyon, we see a girl with a blonde hair gets chased by a giant black scorpion in hot pursuit,
- Robin: Titans, go!
(Before the Teen Titans could fight, the girl uses her powers to levitate the rock and crushed the giant scorpion)
- Starfire: She was not a in trouble
- Cyborg: She was leading it into a trap.
- Robin: The question is...
- Beast Boy: Who is she?
(We see Slade)
- Slade: Don't get too attached, my young friend. I saw her first.
(The girl uses her powers to lift the rock and jumps in front of them)
- Terra: What? Haven't you guys ever seen a superhero before?
(The Teen Titans look concerned)
- Robin: I'm Robin. We're the...
- Terra: Teen Titans. Rock on it's cool to meet you guys. I'm Terra, and you're Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and...
- Beast Boy: Boy Beast. I-I, I mean, Bass Boot, no!
- Terra: Beast Boy?
(Beast Boy screams and turns into a turtle)
Serena meets Terra[edit | edit source]
()
- -
- -
- -
- Serena: Guess we haven't met huh. I'm Serena. What's your name?
- Terra: I'm Terra. It's a pleasure to meet you, Serena.
- -
- -
- Serena: You look really beautiful, but cute too.
(Terra blushed)
- Terra: (Blushed while laughing) Quit it will ya!
Terra stays in the Titans Tower[edit | edit source]
(We go to the Titans Tower)
- -
- -
- Ash Ketchum: Wow, she sure is hungry.
- Pikachu: Pika.
- Starfire: Might you now wish to partake of my homemade glorg?
- Robin, Cyborg, Raven and Beast Boy: No!
- Terra: (Eats it) Taste like sushi mixed with ice cream. Got any more?
- Starfire: I shall go cultivate the fungus.

Team Rocket's Report[edit | edit source]
(Then Team Rocket are watching them)
- Meowth: (Laughs) Just like we thought. They're already here in the city in a sewer.
- James: Before we got after them, I think we should take a moment to call the boss and let him know we still on the twerps trail.
- Meowth: Oh yeah? Do you to be one to tell him, we still didn't get our paws on Tino?
(Jessie and James shack their heads)
- Meowth: Hey, boss! How are you doing there? No, we didn't capture those Heroes!
- Both: Not me.
- Meowth: We three total losers! Hai--!
- Both: That's right.
(Meowth hit them with a paper)
- Meowth: Are you out of your minds?! We can't call the boss and tell him that we still ain't got Tino or his friends for him! We can't call the boss, until we swipe those heroes!
- Jessie: You're right. Perhaps Slade should know about this.
- James: Hey, look. That girl and a Fennekin are with them.
(They spotted Serena and Fennekin)
- All three: Huh?
(Then Dr. Facilier comes in)
- Meowth: (Screams) The Shadow Man!
- Jessie: Oh, hey Facilier, what's up?
- Dr. Facilier: Jafar and the others are waiting for you three.
- James: They are?
- Dr. Facilier: Yes, they want to see you clowns, immediately.
- Meowth: Alright, we're coming.
(Team Rocket as arrived at Adagio and the rest of the villains are)
- Meowth: Uh, hello everyone.
- Zoycite: You're late.
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- Goldar: By sources have confirmed when Meowth mentioned Serena. This Serena could be one who was with Ash Ketchum when he defeated us.
- Megan: That girl again?!
- Zoycite: What?!
- Lord Zedd: Serena?! (growls) What is she doing there for?!
- Meowth: For an adventure with her friends.
- Lord Zedd: When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you! Bowser said ???!
- Dr. Facilier: Then, I guess we should destroy them.
- Adagio Dazzle: But first we need a plan.
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- -
- Sonata Dusk: Then we can get lunch afterthought, right? It's Taco Tuesday!
- Adagio Dazzle: Just follow my lead.
- Aria Blaze: Or my lead.
- Adagio Dazzle: MY lead!
???/Terra runs away[edit | edit source]
- Terra: You told him?!
- Beast Boy: I didn't.
- Terra: You promised! You lied to me! You lied!
(She runs off. Letterbox, top third of the screen: all six teens are visible only as small silhouettes against a blue background. Terra continues her headlong dash away from the Titans; after she is gone, the view shifts back to them in fullscreen.)
- Beast Boy: (running after her) Terra, no! Wait!
- Serena: Terra!
Dissolve to a pan along the shore and stop at her hair clip lying on a rock, having fallen loose in her hasty departure. Beast Boy reaches into view and picks it up; pull back to frame him. He looks dejectedly at it and sits down.)
Beast Boy: Terra... (Robin walks up behind him.)
Robin: I just figured it out. I didn't know it was a secret.
Beast Boy: She didn't even say goodbye.
(He picks up a stone and throws, skipping it farther over the water than any of his or Terra's previous attempts. After it has finally submerged, the screen fills with static, which resolves to a view of Terra running as she did at the start of this episode. She has ditched her backpack. The camera tilts down from her image to a black area beneath it, showing that this is a monitor on which Slade is observing her. Since destroying his own lair at the end of "Apprentice", he has established a new base of operations.)
Slade: Run all you like, because no matter where you go... (Close-up of him.) ...every step brings you closer to me.
(Snap to black.)
Playing Volleyball/Terra Returns[edit | edit source]
Ash gives Serena advice on gaining trust and dealing with drastic situations[edit | edit source]
- Serena: I just don't understand it, Ash. How am I going to prove to Raven that Terra is someone she can trust? I mean she trusts me and she trusts you. She's so complicated.
- Ash Ketchum: Yes, Serena, it's true. Raven is complicated at trusting others when meeting new people. When I first met her, she wasn't too fond of me nor terribly friendly toward me. But I somehow knew that she cared about me deep down.
- Serena: But how did you get her to earn her trust?
- Ash Ketchum: Well, it wasn't easy at first. So, to earn her trust, I started helping the Titans on stopping villains and battling monsters. And in the process, I started to get to know them. And soon, when I began telling stories about my fantastic adventures, Raven began to slowly understand me. For when she heard about my bravery and heroism in my adventures, it intrigued her so much that she began to see the purity inside me. And eventually, she began to trust me.
- Serena: Wow. That's incredible. You're so lucky.
- Ash Ketchum: Uh-huh. Most of the time, I've helped the team fight off the mercenary, Slade. You do not want to run into that guy, Serena. He's nothing but bad news. He's a devil, a monster, a madman, and a black-hearted demon. He's the kind of supervillain who has no conscience, doesn't show any decency or mercy to people, lacks complete compassion and understanding, and would do anything to gain power and control. Even if it means killing people who stands in his way. (Serena becomes frightened at hearing about Slade's wicked ambitions) Yeah, I know. And as you can see, all he's been doing was creating mass destruction to the city and making people suffer pain and misfortune. You see... Uh... (sighs sadly) I really hate to tell you this. But I think it's time you knew the truth. It doesn't normally happen to superheroes like them. Uh... Well... From what I've heard from Tino, Slade almost made Robin turn against his teammates and nearly made him become his apprentice.
- Serena: (gasps) No!
- Ash Ketchum: Yes. He even implanted little destructive probes inside the bloodstreams of Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire. Because if Robin fails or didn't do what Slade told him to do, his friends will suffer the effects of the probes and would most likely die.
- Serena: (gasps) How terrible! What a black-hearted man he is!
- Ash Ketchum: Yes, I know.
- Serena: How did they get Robin back? Did they convince him to come back? Did they show him mercy?
- Ash Ketchum: Yes. They didn't want to fight him. Because he was their friend. And their leader. After a few struggles, they've managed to convince Robin to come back and Cyborg managed to find a way to remove the probes from each other's bloodstreams.
- Serena: (felt relieved, but turns sad) I don't understand why a person like Slade is so interested in destroying the Teen Titans. And I don't understand why he would trick Robin into betraying his own team just to get him to become his apprentice and commit crimes.
- Ash Ketchum: I don't get it either, Serena. But then again, Slade is what he is. He's just another criminal and that is something we cannot ever change. He's another dangerous criminal seeking for destruction and devastation to everybody in the city.
- Serena: Yeah. And since Terra came back, I fear that he might be looking for a new apprentice. And I fear that he might have already found one in her.
- Ash Ketchum: Could be.
- Serena: Ash?
- Ash Ketchum: Hmm?
- Serena: If the Teen Titans really do get into a drastic situation with Slade, what do you think I should do? I mean I'm not like them. I don't use excessive force and violence as an answer to resolve conflicts. I would only use those in a crisis that is so great when fighting pure evil villains like Slade. So, instead of using violence to resolve things, what should I do?
- Ash Ketchum: Well, from what I hear, I understand how you feel. You're gentle, humble, kind, and merciful. You don't like to hurt. You adore life as much as anyone else and you want to protect it from evil. I know because I too have that feeling as well.
- Serena: Mm-hmm. But what do you think I should do?
- Ash Ketchum: Well, you don't have to use violence and excessive force to resolve conflicts like the Titans do all the time. So, the better suggestion is that you just have to remember one simple trick. And that is to just be true to who you are and don't fight fire with fire. Stay calm, be brave, and find your inner peace. With that, you will earn the absolute faith and trust in the Teen Titans.
- Serena: Even Raven?
- Ash Ketchum: Yes. Even Raven. Just give them a little time to understand your specialness and show them what kind of a person you are inside and out. Okay?
- Serena: Okay. Thanks, Ash. Do you think it will work?
- Ash Ketchum: I'm not sure. But I'm betting that it will.
- Serena: And when do you think I will use it?
- Ash Ketchum: I don't know. But you will know, when the time is right.
- Serena: Okay. Thank you.
???[edit | edit source]
- - -
- Serena: (sees Robin fighting Slade while also encountering him for the first time) Oh my goodness! (sneaks past quietly) I'd better keep a low profile if I want to help save the tower. Good thing Ash warned me about Slade.
???[edit | edit source]
- Negaduck: So long, and don't even try to think of anything to escape. (???) Losers.
- Ash Ketchum: Loser?!
- Misty: Ash!
- Brock: Easy!
- Ash Ketchum: That no good-!
(???)
- Lor McQuarrie: (in Korra's voice) Don't be so lucky, Negaduck. Then we'll see who the losers really are.
- Negaduck: Oh, ???. I'm so scared. (leaves)
Beast Boy learns the truth about Terra[edit | edit source]
(???)
Terra: (steps to him) No. You said you'd be my friend no matter what, remember?
(She reaches out to touch his shoulder, but he gives her the hardest glare he can and turns away.)
Beast Boy: Slade was right. You don't have any friends.
(That jab hits her like a two-by-four upside the head.)
Slade: (from o.c.) Apprentice. (She backs up.) Come.
(Pull back to frame him, standing just behind her. She bows her head and closes her eyes.)
Slade: We've had a change of plans.
(Her eyes open as her whole face rearranges itself into an expression of sullen hatred. She and her new master slowly retreat into a shadowy niche; cut to Beast Boy, his back to us in depression, and pull back slowly.)
(Dissolve to the exterior of the Tower. It is now the next day, and the place looks like a hundred miles of bad road thanks to the onslaught of Slade's robots. Cut to a slow pan across the ravaged entrance hall; metal body parts lie among the smashed armchairs and smoking debris.)
Cyborg: (voice over) Well...looks like we won.
(In the cluttered stairwell, a robot sprawls on the landing. Pull back slowly.)
Starfire: (voice over) Then why does it not feel like a victory?
(The ceiling of the gym. An arm hangs down limply; tilt down from here to frame all the wreckage and broken fighters.)
Raven: (voice over) I knew it. I knew it! We never should have trusted her.
(Pan across the garage, in which a large pile of robots has accumulated.)
Robin: (voice over) But we did. We all did.
(Overhead view of the operations center, zooming in on these four Titans. They are gathered where the couch and coffee table used to be; Cyborg works a few controls on his forearm.)
Cyborg: I've regained access to the computer. Security codes and encryption strings have all been reset.
Starfire: And all enemy surveillance technology has been located and destroyed.
Raven: Problem is, Terra gave Slade more than secret codes and hidden cameras. She gave him us. Our flaws, our weaknesses, everything he'd ever need to know.
Robin: It doesn't matter. When Slade makes his next move, we'll be ready.
(Dissolve to a slow pan across Terra's trashed room. Something is on her bed.)
Cyborg: (voice over) And Beast Boy?
Starfire: (voice over) He will be all right?
(On these last two words, dissolve to a close-up of the bed and pull back slowly. The heartbroken Titan is curled up on the blankets as a large, melancholy dog, and the box he gave Terra lies next to him.)
Robin: (voice over) He just needs a little time.
(Dissolve to just outside the room's closed door and pull back slowly across the hall. Soft whimpering is heard from inside before the view fades to black.)
Terra's commitment to the Villains[edit | edit source]
- Slade: You have had doubts in the past. Made mistakes. But all that is behind you, isn't it?
- Terra: Yes.
- Slade: You belong to us now...don't you?
- Terra: I do.
- Lord Zedd: Do you swear to serve us and only us?
- Terra: I will.
- Malachite: Will you obey our every command?
- Terra: I will.
- Hun: Will you fight at our side forever?
- Terra: I will.
- Slade: And will you destroy the Teen Titans?
- Negaduck: That also includes Tino's friends.
- Adagio Dazzle: And bring him to us, personally.
- Kurumi Tokisaki: Reguardless, of what they think of you now, will you bring them all down.
- Terra: I thought you'd never ask.

???[edit | edit source]
- -Is everyone here?
- -Yeah, we got lucky.
- -If it weren't for you guys, we would been dead for real.
- -So, I'm guessing that Terra chose her side.
- -I'm afraid so.
- -So that's how it is then.
- -I'm afraid so.
- -So how should we handle her now?
- Tohka Yatogami: That's the thing. There is no more handle now.
- -What does that mean?
- Serena: Oh, no! You don't think-
- Cyborg: I'm sorry, Serena. But she gave us no other choice. No more chances.
- Starfire: No more trust.
- Raven: And no more mercy.
- Beast Boy: She's just another criminal.
- Robin: And we're going to stop her. No matter what it takes.
- Serena: (gasps; talks in her thoughts, horrified at what they're going to do) No!
Terra's Patrol/Terra vs the Heroes[edit | edit source]
- Slade: Apprentice, report. What's going on?
- Terra: I don't--(sees some shocking shadow) No, I destroyed you. You are all--
- Misty: What? Dead? Annihilated? Not supposed to exist anymore?
- Cera: Strange isn't it.
(Terra's nemeses stand motionless in the fog.)
- -What's the matter, Terra? That's not a happy face.
- - Yeah, you look like you seen a ghost.
- Slade: Terra, attack now!
(She follows orders, smashing their position to rubble, but when the dust clears, all it reveals is a car that has been flipped upside down by the tremors. Panicking a bit, she backs up and looks left and right, that curtain of hair over her right eye swinging heavily with the motion. In the fog behind her, a large wolf-like shape races by; an instant later, two booted feet pass in front. Now Terra is really rattled, but her attention is distracted and she does not notice the big, broad human shape coming up fast to throw a punch. Cyborg catches her squarely in the back; the blow sends her down the street a bit, and as soon as she gets up, a starbolt hits her broadside.)
[Recurring animation goof: From now until the end of the episode, the insignia on Terra's breastplate will occasionally reverse colors.]
(She sits up woozily, rubbing her head, and suddenly finds the shapes of Raven and Beast Boy, back in human form, advancing from the murk. A stone column rises to carry her out of range, but another of Starfire's shots blows it apart under her feet. The caped outline of Robin leaps high and hurls a handful of grenades down at her; she raises a rock sheet to stop their explosions from reaching her, only to be flattened by Cyborg's cannon shot. Zoom in slightly on her.)
- Slade: On your feet, Terra! Your suits neural interface allows me to assist you in combat, but I can only help if you get up and fight.
- Lord Zedd: Do as he says or you'll feel me wrath!
(Cyborg rushes at her now; with a fierce yell, she brings up many pavement chunks amid a broad vertical shaft of yellow light that surrounds her. Whatever she was planning is cut off when an enormous black hand reaches up from behind and seizes her. Raven's "soul-self" emerges entirely, carrying Terra high into the air. Close-up of the apprentice's face, whose eyes register undiluted fear and then narrow as the yellow glow starts anew. A stone spike shoots up to knock her out of the apparition's grip, and she rises on a piece of it, but the silhouette of Beast Boy, once again a wolf, streaks across and plows her away.)
(Terra tumbles through the fog and lands to find that growling beast advancing toward her.)
- Terra: Beast Boy, Beast Boy! Stop! Aren't you even going to talk to me?
- Carver Descartes: It seems like Beast Boy has lost interest in talking
- Cyborg: There's nothing left to say.
- Garrett: We took into our home and treated you like our own.
- Ash Ketchum: And you sided with Slade and our enemies.
- Starfire: You attempted to annihilate us.
- Raven: Did you think we wouldn't take it personally?
- -When you sided with them, you chose your fate.
- Robin: It's over, Terra!
- Starfire: She seems quite scared.
- Raven: Scared isn't the same as sorry.
- Robin: I don't care how she feels. Terra's a dangerous criminal and she has to be stopped.
- Beast Boy: She will be. I'm going to make sure of it.
- Cyborg: Got a lock, she's heading east.
- Slade: Where do you think you're going, young lady?
- Terra: Anywhere, I was getting thrashed, I had to get--
- Slade: No! I will not tolerate failure, apprentice. I will not permit you to run away. You will stay and you will fight! And you will win!
- ???: Come on out Terra.
- ???: Yeah, aren't you going to finish the job.
- ???: It seems like she won't come out.
- ???: Doesn't matter if she won't come. We'll find her either way.
-
-
- Serena: Starfire! Raven! Please, stop!
-
- Serena: Cyborg, listen to me!
-
- Serena: Beast Boy, let me help you!
-
- Serena: Robin, stop! (blocks Robin from attacking Terra) Think about what you and your team are doing! This won't heal any of the hurt she and Slade had caused us!
-
(Hurt by what the Teen Titans said to her, Serena burst into tears and runs off, as Ash watches in total distraught over what the Titans said to his childhood friend. Even Tino, Littlefoot, Scooby and their friends are completely shock over what the Titans said to Serena, even calling her weak.)
- Tino Tonitini: Serena! Wait!
- Sunset Shimmer: Come back!
- Cyborg: Just let her go, guys. She's completely useless to us.
-
(As Tino and the other heroes leave, Ash looks back sadly at where Serena left.)
- Ash Ketchum: (concerned) Serena…
Serena seeks console from Mufasa[edit | edit source]
(A few seconds later, Serena hides behind a building, bends down and cries softly.)
- Serena: (sniffs) It's hopeless. Absolutely hopeless. I don't know what to do anymore. I need help. (suddenly a shimmer of lights gaze down on her and she sees a spiritual lion in the clouds; gasps) Wh-What are you? Are you one of the Teen Titans or are you just another one of Slade's monsters sent to destroy them?
- Mufasa: Neither, little one. For I am Mufasa, father of Simba and grandfather of Kiara and Kion.
- Serena: (gasps) M-M-Mufasa? The Mufasa?! The previous lion king of the pride lands who was killed by Scar?!
- Mufasa: That's right.
- Serena: W-Why are you here?
- Mufasa: The great kings of the past informed me that there has been trouble going on around here. They said that you are having problems trying to resolve a conflict between a group of people. They entrusted me to come and offer you advice on the problem you're dealing with.
- Serena: Thanks. But first I have to tell you about the problem I'm facing.
-
-
- Serena: And that's the whole story, Mufasa.
- Mufasa: Oh, my. How dreadful. I'm so sorry this happened to you.
- Serena: Yeah. Now they're fully convinced that Terra was never truly their friend. But I know that that's not true. I tried to tell them that, but they won't listen to me. They're too angry to listen now. The Titans think I'm weak and soft to help fight Terra and they think she's another criminal. And I think they might be right. Because of her supposed attempt to murder the Titans under Slade's command, they're now going to kill her in an act of cold-blooded vengeance. I don't know what else to do to stop them anymore. I'm all out of options. I feel so lost. (cries softly)
- Mufasa: (feels sympathetic for Serena) Oh, Serena. You, poor, poor helpless child. I know exactly how you feel. You remind me a lot like my granddaughter, Kiara, when she had to put up with a similar situation with my son's conflict against Zira's pride. You are kind, gentle and merciful. You don't wish to fight. Your loyalty and dedication in saving your friend is commendable. Their rage and anger towards Terra may have slowed you down and they may have said that you're soft and weak. But do not let their lack of faith affect yours.
- Serena: I want to help them stop Slade, save Terra and save the city at the same time. But I want to do it without having them tear each other apart. (sighs) I just want them to trust me so they can forgive her and have her as their friend again.
- Mufasa: They will, Serena. As long as you trust yourself. Remember the advice Ash gave you the other night before Terra's betrayal. Remain calm, be brave, and find your inner peace. Confidence, Serena. That's all you need to complete this journey. But confidence doesn't come from what others say or think about you. It comes from inside yourself.
- Serena: Thank you, Mufasa. I'll do my best.
- Mufasa: I know you will. Just be strong, trust your instincts, and don't give up until it is over. Good luck. (disappears in the clouds)
- Serena: (holds her hand out as Mufasa disappears and pulls it back in; sighs) Mufasa's right. I'm not giving up just yet. Terra still needs us. Whether they agree with me or not, she's still our friend. Traitor or no traitor. This madness has to end or more innocent people in the city will get killed. They may have held me back, struck me down, and even said nasty things about me being soft and weak! But I'm not going down that easily! I'm going to prove that I am not weak and that Terra's not an evil, lying back-stabbing traitor to the Teen Titans once and for all!

Slade and villains take control of Terra[edit | edit source]
Serena convinces the Heroes to reform Terra once and for all[edit | edit source]
- Raven: We're gonna need a bigger jail.
- Starfire: Where is Beast Boy?
- Robin: (checks his communicator) Five kilometers east, and eight hundred meters below the surface. Titans! Let's move!
(The Teen Titans head down below to follow Beast Boy. Tino and the others attempt to follow, but Serena blocks them.)
- Serena: Guys, wait! Stop!
- Tino Tonitini: Serena, get out of our way!
- Cera: Move it! We have to bring Terra down!
- Serena: No!
- Everyone: (gasps)
- Serena: You heard me! I said, "No!".
- Misty: Do you have any idea what she's done?! She tried to annihilate the Teen Titans! And she betrayed them! And us!
- Brock: Are you trying to betray us by siding with Slade and Terra?!
- Serena: No! I did not side with Slade! I am fully aware of what he is planning and I don't want it to happen as much as any of you guys! And I am not planning on taking Terra down! Beast Boy went down there as a final attempt to save Terra! And I am planning to save her as well!
- Everyone: (except Ash) Save her?!
- Lincoln Loud: After what she tried to do to the Titans?!
- Serena: Look, I know what she did was wrong, but-
(Everyone (except for Ash) then starts arguing about why Beast Boy and Serena are thinking about saving Terra after her attempts of trying to kill the Teen Titans and betraying them to Slade. Serena stands there in total shock and distraught at what has become of her friends. They are no longer the close friends she knew. They've now become brutal savages thirsting for the blood of their former friend. The only one who hasn’t become a savage is her childhood friend, Ash, who is starting to grow concern about this. They're all behaving just like their enemy, Slade. Serena's concern then slowly turns into anger.)
- Serena: Stop. Stop! EVERYBODY SHUT UP!!!! (her sudden outburst suddenly silences them all, surprising Ash, because he has never seen Serena angry like that before) I am ashamed and disgusted by all of you! Especially you, Tino! Look at how stupid you're all acting! Listen to the way you're talking! And look at what you all have become since Terra's betrayal! All of you, guys! You and the Teen Titans are becoming just as bad as Slade is! You've all become nothing but bloodthirsty savages just like him!
- Carver René Descartes: Say what?!
- Tish Katsufrakis: As bad as Slade?!
- Doraemon: Bloodthirsty savages?!
- Tino Tonitini: What do you mean we're being as bad as Slade, Serena?! She tried to kill us all! And she betrayed us and the Titans and is now working for him and our enemies! How can you say we're being as bad as Slade?!
- Serena: Whatever reason might make it sound right, killing Terra is not justice! (everyone gasps in realization) If you guys kill Terra just because you can't forgive her for betraying us, there's no hope in stopping Slade's crime spree! And there will also be no hope in breaking Slade's grip on Terra at all! We'll end up fighting a losing battle instead of a winning battle! Look, I truly understand that revenge is one thing, but mercilessly committing murder without reconsideration is another! You can't just waltz into Slade's hideout and slaughter her without looking at the severity of the situation! Killing her would be like taking candy from a baby without getting any candy! Let's just find it in our hearts to forgive her! That's what kindness is, isn't it?! Kindness will definitely get to her in the end! We just have to keep believing in it like Beast Boy and I do!
- Tino Tonitini: (sighs) I understand what you're saying, Serena. But Terra had her last chance and she blew it. She's just another dangerous criminal and we still have to bring her to justice whether we like it or not. As Raven said, she is evil. Always has been, always will be.
- Serena: But, Tino, Robin, Raven, Cyborg, and Starfire are members of the Teen Titans! And so is Beast Boy! Are they capable of telling a lie by committing an act of murder behind someone's back?! Are they capable of taking the life of a misguided girl who is being manipulated into becoming evil just to control her powers?! Are they capable of fighting a battle that would lead to pointless bloodshed?!
- Tino Tonitini: What?!
- Ash Ketchum: Huh?!
(Everyone else gasp as well.)
- Serena: Look, killing Terra is no way to settle things around here. I've got a better way to stop Slade, free her from his grasp, and save the city once and for all. The only easier way to handle this is to talk Terra down without attacking her head on. It is a much more peaceful approach rather than mercilessly killing her. I know her betrayal has hurt you. And it has hurt the Titans immensely as much as it hurt me. But Terra is nothing compared to Slade nor any other criminal in this city. Even after her betrayal, I still value her as a friend and I'm more willing to help her as much as anyone in the world. Especially when Slade made her attack the Titans. And if you guys can't see that just because you're all blinded by your anger towards her for everything she's done, then you can just let her remain broken up inside for the rest of her life for all I care. I'm going down there to help Beast Boy rescue Terra with or without you, 'cause I'm not giving up on her until it's over. So, goodbye to you.
(Serena turns away and leaves to go help Beast Boy save Terra. Ash, Tino, Shido, Littlefoot, Sunset and everyone else are deeply speechless at what Serena said. She is more willing to help Terra redeem her actions more than anyone in the world. Ash then turns his disgust but firm attention to his friends.)
- Ash Ketchum: You know what guys? Serena is right! The way you all acted during our fight with Terra and the villains was not okay!
- All: WHAT?!
- Cera: But Ash, Terra-
- Ash Ketchum: I know, but I still believe there is good inside her too. And I understand that hate. But what are we doing?! We’re supposed to be heroes, not villains! Plus Cera, Serena was trying to be your friend! And you still pushed her away.
- Cera: Well, she deserved it after her Pokémon got on my nerves and she ended up befriending that traitor! And now you defending Terra?!
- Ash Ketchum: (firmly; but calmly) Yes! (everyone gasp in shock) I have enough as well! Serena is my friend! And so was Terra! But now look at us! You’ve changed, for the worst! You all turn into blood thirsty savages just like Slade and now Serena’s feelings are probably hurt now!
- Pikachu: (angirly at the rest of the heroes) Pikachu!
- Ash Ketchum: So what are you all now? Certainly not the friends Serena knows and love anymore. (Everyone froze in total distraught and guilt upon hearing that, even Cera, who now regrets not trusting Serena and Pachmon.) Now I’m gonna go down there and help Serena, because… I’m not giving up until it’s over as well. (leaves before turning around) Oh and by the way, I never want to win in a battle this way…
(As soon as Ash and Pikachu left, our heroes look down in shame and remorse over what they have become.)
- Sunset Shimmer: What happened to us guys? This isn’t us.
- Shido: I don’t know. One minute, we were hurt by Terra’s betrayal. The next thing we were acting like total monsters trying to take her down permanently.
- Princess Nella: What have we done?! Serena was right! We did acted like total blood thirsty savages, just like Slade.
- Cera: (close to crying) I know… I feel so terrible.
- Tino Tonitini: Guys, Serena’s right. It wasn’t Terra doing all that bad stuff to us. It was the villains.
- Misty: Guys, I’m ashamed of how I acted.
- Loud Sisters: Us too.
(Tino, Littlefoot and their friends get in a group hug)
- Doraemon: I’m sorry.
- Carver Rene Descartes: All is forgiven.
- Nova: Oh, I love you guys.
(Our heroes cry tears of remorse as they fully regret how they acted. Serena was right. The way they all acted was totally out of control. They’ve nearly became blood thirsty savages, just like Slade and the rest of the villains. The heroes then calm down and pull themselves together and come up with a solution.)
- Tino Tonitini: Come on guys, let’s go make things right for Serena and Terra.
- All: Yeah!
(Several minutes later, Serena is halfway down underground on Beast Boy's trail. When all of a sudden...)
- Ash Ketchum: (voice) Serena, wait up!
- Serena: Huh? (gasps happily) Ash?!
- Ash Ketchum: I thought about what you said and thanks. I'm sorry for the way our friends all acted up there.
- Serena: Don't worry about it. What matters now is that we're helping Beast Boy free Terra from Slade's grip.
- Ash Ketchum: Yeah.
- Pikachu: Pika.
- Ash Ketchum: Look, are you sure you still want to help Terra after what she tried to do to the Titans? You don't have to.
- Serena: Ash, I have to help Terra fix the problem Slade took advantage of. Remember what you told me on the night he attacked the tower with his worm robots? You said that it's best to stay true to who you are and that you shouldn't use excessive force to resolve a conflict. And you said to give the Teen Titans a little time to understand my specialness and show them what kind of person I am inside and out. Well, now the time is right for them to fully understand. Especially, Slade.
- Ash Ketchum: (though speechless, he grins) That's the spirit.
- Serena: Where's everyone else?
- Ash Ketchum: Well, they-
- Tino Tonitini: (voice) Hey, Serena! (appears with and everyone else)
- Sunset Shimmer: Do you need a hand?
(Serena smiles happily, now that she has fully convinced them to change Terra instead of killing her.)
- Shido: We've been thinking about what you've said up there, Serena. And we're all very sorry.
- Doraemon: You were right about us. We've been blinded by our anger towards Terra so much that we've forgotten about who our true enemy really is.
- Lori Loud: And now, thanks to you, we no longer have any interest in bringing her down anymore.
- Leni Loud: Let's convince our friend to break free from Slade's grip once and for all!
- Tish Katsufrakis: And this time, we'll do things your way and Beast Boy's way now. We'll show her real mercy. So, lead the way, Serena.
- Serena: Me? Lead the way? But-but I'm not...
- Ash Ketchum: Hey, it'll be alright. During our journey in Kalos, you've used Twilight Sparkle's power of forgiveness and magic of friendship to conquer some of the most impossible odds. From the time you lost in your debut Pokémon Showcase to the time you got your chance to win your first Princess Key in Dendemille Town. And when I lost against my battle against Wulfric in Snowbelle City, you've snapped me out of my depression by reminding me of my catchphrase, "Don't give up until it's over!" That was what helped me and Greninja perfect the Bond Phenomenon form and win the final badge that earned us our place in the Kalos League. It was all you, Serena. I've earned those achievements because you used your special gift to help me believe in the power of forgiveness and the magic of friendship. You've even helped everyone else here believe in it as well. Now, it's time you use your gift to help Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, Terra and even Raven believe in it too. Am I right, guys?
(Everyone agrees)
- Ash Ketchum: So, what are you standing around for? Lead the way, Serena! 'Cause you've got a friend to save!
- Serena: (gasps in delight) Thank you! Thank you, everyone!
Beast Boy vs Terra[edit | edit source]
(Beast Boy, as a wolf, standing atop a high ledge in a cavern. He jumps down from one to the next, the camera following, and reaches the floor for a run. Cut to a set of closed steel doors; he stops at this and wrinkles his nose angrily. Inside, the doors are smashed open by his charge as a woolly mammoth. A ceiling-mounted security camera swivels to point at him; he drops out of sight, and we then see him leap onto the housing as a rat and disconnect a wire to knock it out. Hopping down to the ground, he resumes human form and starts down the passage. After several yards, the sound of Terra's distant sobbing makes itself heard and he finds himself at the entrance to Slade's lair. She is huddled on the floor; he runs to her, all his fierce zeal and bloodlust disappearing in a heartbeat.)
- Beast Boy: Terra?
- Terra: Destroy me, quick.
- Beast Boy: What?
- Terra: Come on! Isn't that what you came for? Do it! Now!
(A flash, and Slade has again exerted his control over her body. She groans with the unendurable effort as his programming drags her upright and extends a hand at Beast Boy. A blast of her powers hurls him across the dim chamber; he crashes against the wall and drops semiconscious onto his face. Cut to ground level, the camera pointing at Slade from beneath the arm Beast Boy has tried to prop himself up with.)
- Slade: Forgive my apprentice. As usual, she can't seem to control herself.
(On the end of this line, Terra straightens up behind him. As Beast Boy looks up in complete shock, she staggers toward him, her visible eye filled with tears.)
- Slade: So from now on, (A tear spills down her cheek.) I will be controlling her every move.
(The suit crackles as she plods toward the Titan. After a long internal struggle, contrite mind versus unalterable command; her eyes blaze up and the camera pulls back as she levitates many tumbled stones. They fly at Beast Boy, who jumps clear and swoops away as a falcon; she merely pivots to direct her rock barrage after him. Approaching Slade as a huge wolf, he is smashed aside by a huge boulder. The mastermind just looks incuriously down at him. Cut to Beast Boy, back in human form and groaning among the debris. Raising his head, he looks around the chamber; Terra emerges inexorably from the thick dust, and his fury starts to surface again.)
- Beast Boy: What have you done to her? (Cut to Slade.)
- Slade: Nothing she didn't want me to. (Terra steps in to face the camera.) Terra came to me seeking control, and that's precisely what I've given her. My control, her body.
(Beast Boy glares at the two; Slade raises a hand, as does Terra, on the next line.)
- Slade: I think you'll find I make far better use of her powers.
(The stones around him rise into the air and slam toward him, but he turns into a rat and jumps out of the way. As he scampers toward Terra and Slade, who raise their arms together, a large chunk of the floor rises under his feet and bears him toward the ceiling. Again, a last-second jump gets him out of harm's way; he becomes a rhinoceros as he falls. Terra drops out of sight, then rises behind him on a cylindrical piece. Most of it flicks away to leave a deadly sharp point at the bottom end, which she aims at the green changeling. Just before it embeds itself in the ground, he becomes a python, loosely coiled so that Terra's missile stabs the open space inside. Beast Boy slithers away only to be seized by a hand that emerges from the ground. Cut to Terra, zooming in slowly, then dissolve to Slade and continue the camera movement.)
- Slade: That's my good, little girl.
(The jilted Titan becomes a gorilla and breaks loose of the stony fist clamped around him. A growling lunge takes him across the space and brings Terra off her perch; she ends up with her shoulders pinned.)
- Terra: You have to stop me, Beast Boy! Please! I don't want to fight anymore! (He resumes human form.)
- Beast Boy: Then don't let Slade control you anymore!
- Terra: I have no choice.
- Beast Boy: That's a lie! You've always had a choice!
(She stares pleadingly up at him. Cut to Slade, who backs up with a yell of pure rage, and dissolve to Terra's eyes glowing, same posture, an equally furious scream in her throat. Two thin columns shoot up and project her friend/enemy high across the lair; he tumbles down from the far wall. Cu to Slade and zoom in, then dissolve to Terra in the same pose and zoom in again. Beast Boy gets to his feet.)
- Beast Boy: It's all been your choice! (crosses to Terra) You chose to work for Slade, chose to betray us, and now you've chosen to give him control! Slade isn't doing this, Terra! You are!
- Terra: No!
(She collapses the floor around her feet, leaving herself on a small perch and dropping him several yards, but he quickly becomes a falcon and flies back up. He lands in human form past the edge of the cave-in, but this area buckles and flings him back even farther; as he tumbles, he becomes a wolf and sets into a run. With a tortured yell, Terra brings down a fair part of the ceiling in an attempt to flatten the lupine Titan.)
The Titans and Heroes convince Terra to change/Serena pacifies the Titans and speaks with Terra alone[edit | edit source]
(A dense dust cloud hides him from view; cut to a close-up of Terra, eyes squeezed shut in horror at what she may have done. A short bark makes her pop them open in surprise, and the haze clears to show him amid the rubble with one leg trapped. Terra gasps sharply at the sight of him. Pan to Slade a short distance back.)
- Slade: Very good, my dear. (raises his left arm) Now shall we finish him off?
(Driven against her will, she takes faltering steps toward Beast Boy, who resumes human form and strains to get himself free of the rock fall. She reaches the spot and directs an anguished glance down at her former teammate and friend before her left arm comes up.)
- Beast Boy: Terra! No!
- Terra: He's too powerful! (Her hand glows.) I can't stop him!
- Beast Boy: Yes, you can! It's your power, not his! (as she reaches to him) You can still control it! You can still do the right thing!
- Terra: (sadly) It's too late.
(The rock sheets around him rise and form into a pointed missile, just like the one she tried to impale him with earlier. It hovers above his prone form as she keeps that left hand motionless in front of her; the battle is still raging in her mind and heart. Close-up of him, eyes fixed on the o.c. implement of death; its point plunges into view, but stops just short of his face. He utters a small gasp at having been spared; her attention is drawn by the next word.)
- Robin: (voice) STOP!!! (swings in)
(Tino, Ash, Serena, Sunset, Shido, and everyone else run in.)
- Tino Tonitini: Terra, stop!
- Sunset Shimmer: Don't do this, Terra!
- Slade: Strike apprentice, now!
- Robin: (poses to attack) Terra, no!
(Cyborg points his cannon at her, ready at full charge)
- Carver René Descartes: Don't kill him!
- Ash Ketchum: Don't hurt Beast Boy, Terra!
- Tohka: Don't do it!
- Raven: (appears behind her and prepares to blast her) It'll be the last thing you'll ever do!
(Starfire flies in, ready to blast her with her starbolts.)
- Slade: I gave you an order! (Terra is wide-eyed, confused at what to do) Do it!
- Starfire: Please, Terra, no!
- Cyborg: Don't do it! Don't do it!
- Shido: Don't listen to Slade! Listen to us! Just us! Not him! Us!
- Robin: Listen to us, Terra!
- Cyborg: We're not playing around here!
- Raven: Fight it!
- Starfire: You're still our friend!
- Robin: You don't have to do this!
- Starfire: We want to help!
- Serena: TERRA!!!
- Terra: (gasps) Serena? I-Is that you?
- Serena: (comes into the light and sighs) Yes, Terra, it's me. I'm right here. Is it okay if I come over there and talk to you?
- Terra: By yourself?
- Serena: Yeah, all by myself. With nobody else. (gives Ash her PokéBalls containing her Pokémon) Terra, I want you to know that I am unarmed. I have no gadgets, no weapons, no powers, no nothing. I just want to come over and peacefully patch things through to you. Face to face and eye to eye. Just you and me. Alone. Understand? (Terra nervously shakes her head in response to saying "yes".) Okay. I'm coming over to you.
- Terra: Right now?
- Serena: Yes, right now. (takes a deep breath and exhales out of nervousness) Okay. (gulps nervously) Here goes nothing.
(Serena slowly starts to make her way over to the corrupted blonde. Tino, Ash, and the rest of the gang watch nervously, hoping that nothing bad will happen to her. Pikachu charges his electricity in his cheeks, but Ash stops him from doing so, telling him not to attack and assuring him that Serena will be alright. The Titans ready their positions to attack. They were cautious on what might happen if Terra attacked her while she makes her way towards her. But as Serena continues to make her way towards her corrupted friend, she stops and sees four of the Titans staring at her with angry faces, ready to attack her once more. Seeing how scared Terra felt and seeing how the angry Titans positioned themselves at fire, she grew worried at what they're going to do or say if she tries to interfere. But her worried look turns into determination for she sees that this is the perfect opportunity to use her special gift: the power of forgiveness and the magic of friendship. She closed her eyes, raises her right hand and grasps it against her chest where her heart is. She then does the same thing with her left hand. She opens her eyes for a few moments. Then closes them again before letting in a deep, calm, relaxing breath. She then starts recalling the advice Ash gave her on the evening Terra returned and Slade attacked the tower with his worm robots. As she's recalling Ash's advice, visions of the four angry Titans appear in Serena's background, one-by-one.)
- Ash Ketchum: (voiceover) Stay true to who you are, Serena. Do not fight fire with fire. Stay calm, be brave, and find your inner peace.
(The visions of the angry Titans disappear, leaving Serena the only one remaining.)
- Serena: (in her thoughts) Find my inner peace....
(As she focuses on finding her inner peace, she imagines herself skipping stones with Terra on the day they first met and became best friends. Then a peace symbol along with a yin yang symbol appear around her as she is building up her calmness. Serena then opens her eyes sharply after recalling Ash's advice and finding her inner peace. She starts picturing the Teen Titans as skipping stones on water. Now, with a newfound courage and full determination to prove once and for all that merciless violence isn't the answer, she goes over to Robin and gently grabs his hand where he's holding his ammunition discs set and ready to fire. She lowers his hand down and assures him that things will be alright and nothing bad will happen. Robin puts his ammunition discs away and backs down. Ash gasps in surprise, seeing that Serena is taking his advice from the other night. This also surprises Tino, Sunset and everyone else watching this moment. Serena then goes over to Cyborg and gently grabs his sonic cannon, which he has it fully charged up and ready to fire. She also lowers it down and does the same thing she did with Robin: assuring that nothing bad will happen and everything will be fine. Cyborg turns off his sonic cannon and also backs down. She proceeds to walk over to Terra. Then she looked up at Starfire and hand-signaled her to come down to her, which she does. She gently grabs one of Starfire's arms and lowers it down to dissipate her starbolts. She then does the same thing with Cyborg and Robin: assuring her that nothing bad will happen and everything will be okay. Starfire then sets her feet to the ground and backs down. And finally, she turns her attention to Raven, who has both hands fully powered up with her powers and ready to fire behind Terra. Serena looks at Raven nervously, for she wasn't sure how she was going to respond if she attempts to pacify her from hurting Terra. But as Ash told her from before, she firmly stayed calm and remained brave as she walked toward the angry Titan who never trusted Terra from the very beginning. She gently grabs one of her hands and lowers it down to dissipate her powers. And just like what she did with Robin, Cyborg, and Starfire, she assures her that nothing bad will happen and everything will be alright. Tino, Ash, Sunset, and everyone else watch nervously, worried about how Raven was going to respond to Serena's interference. Serena and Raven both stare at each other for a brief moment. Raven was deeply impressed with Serena's calmness and sees that she had no intention of making an argument in helping Terra. With no further options, Raven lowers her other hand and dissipates her powers. Then she backed down just like what the other three Titans did, much to Serena and everyone else's relief. All four Titans, who lost absolute faith in Terra since her betrayal, were at complete loss for words at what Serena did and were surprisingly impressed with her pacifying skills and how she's being so calm despite the danger. Because of that, they decide to trust her judgment and allow her to speak with Terra alone without interfering.)
- Misty: (shocked) Did we miss something, Brock?
- Brock: No, she just told them to stop. And she's being so calm in spite of the danger.
- Littlefoot: She's like an angel.
- Cera: A calm, peaceful, and gentle angel.
- Tino Tonitini: (in his thoughts) This is incredible! It's like Serena just became some sort of pacifist or something! I hope she knows what she's doing. If not, who knows what would happen next.
(After a few more inches, Serena manages to safely make her way to Terra so she can speak with her by herself. Serena then turned to Beast Boy, who was deeply amazed at her pacifism skills, and assured him that things will be alright and nothing bad will happen with a confident smile. Finally, Serena turns her full attention to her corrupted friend whom she befriended before her betrayal, but never given up on. The terrified look in Terra's eyes made Serena feel so bad for her friend for she knew she needed to be free.)
- Serena: You look scared.
- Terra: Yes.
- Serena: (looks angrily at Slade for a moment, then looks back at Terra) Is it because of Slade?
- Terra: Yes.
- Serena: I see. (sighs sympathetically) Terra, please listen to me. I am going to help you. And I will do that as long as you hear me out. Okay? (Terra nods her head in response to "yes") Okay. (sighs) Look, Terra, it doesn't have to be like this. You don't have to be the bad guy. And you don't have to surrender yourself to an evil man like Slade in order to control your powers. There is another way to control them. And the only way to do that is to let go of your insecurities and overcome the link to the suit he's implanted in your skin.
- Terra: But Serena, I've already tried that.
- Serena: Then try again. Look, I know you're scared and I know you're remorseful for joining him and betraying the Teen Titans. But as you can see, unlike everyone else here, I've never given up on you. I have every urge to forgive you for what you've done and I have every urge to save you from Slade. I knew deep down you can still do good even though you've done bad. And I know that the Teen Titans have what it takes to find it in their hearts to forgive you for what you've done. Even when they've mercilessly attacked you out of rage and anger, I can still sense that feeling deep down inside.
(Upon hearing this, the Teen Titans' faces softened, touched by those words; even Raven was touched. Tino, Sunset, Shido, and the entire gang of heroes were also touched with what Serena said.)
- Ash Ketchum: (deeply touched) Serena....
- Pikachu: Pika....
- Slade: Your speech is quite touching, little girl, but it's hopeless trying to reason with Terra. She's my apprentice now and she doesn't have friends anymore. She's chosen this life and there's no point in going back. So, no matter how hard you try to convince her, there's nothing you can do to make her change her mind. Therefore, your efforts are proving to be meaningless.
- Ash Ketchum: (growls and runs up in front of Slade to protect Serena and Terra) You stay out of this, you cracked-brained slave driver! You don't get to choose who Terra is! This is between Serena and Terra only! Because if you dare interfere, you'll be dealing with us! And I mean literally all of us!
- Tino Tonitini and Sunset Shimmer: Yeah!
- Cera: So, back off, one-eye!
- Littlefoot: Back off and leave them alone!
- Pikachu: Pikachu!
- Ash Ketchum: Keep talking to her, Serena. We've got this.
- Shido: Yeah, you continue helping your friend. We'll handle Slade.
- Serena: (smiles happily at her friends) Thank you, Ash. Thank you, everyone. (turns back to Terra) You hear that, Terra? Slade may have given you everything you've wanted and told you that you've never had any friends. But you know deep in your heart that that's not true. You've always had friends. And Beast Boy and I are one of them. The Teen Titans were your friends. Even Raven was your friend, especially when she never fully trusted you all this time. You may have become an apprentice to a psychopath betting on controlling the city and most likely the world. But that doesn't mean you should forget about the good times you've had with your friends. With Beast Boy. With the Teen Titans. With Tino. With Ash. With Sunset. With everyone else. And with me.
- Terra: But, Serena, because I've broken everyone's trust, Slade ordered me to destroy them and they've attacked me in revenge for what I did.
- Serena: Yes, I know. But you see, when you did that to them, I had a feeling that it wasn't you trying to destroy them. It was Slade trying to destroy them through you. He was controlling your every move like a brainwashed puppet, making you do exactly what he wanted you to do. And making the Teen Titans believe you were trying to murder them when it was all Slade's doing the whole time. (the Teen Titans gasp in horror upon hearing this sudden realization, seeing that they were tricked by Slade all along) When they returned to attack you mercilessly, all I could see in their hearts was rage and anger. And even now, I can totally understand their anger. Your betrayal hurt them so much more than it did to me. Even though I was hurt from your betrayal, I still didn't believe you would turn evil in a fraction of a second. Because I've always believed you would still remain our friend. And before coming here, I've somehow convinced Tino and his friends how to handle things on a more peaceful and non-lethal approach, which is what I'm showing the Teen Titans right now just to prove my point. Because I believed that killing you out of cold blood wouldn't help anything and that you've been punished enough when I saw how scared you felt. I had to convince them to not kill you, Terra, because that kind of violence would lead to nothing but pointless bloodshed. I felt that there was already too much for them to bear in their lives ever since you've betrayed them. I wanted to put a stop to the pain so I could help you see through your mistakes and rejoin the side of good once more. (her eyes fill up with tears and she slowly begins to cry; seeing Serena cry her heart out for Terra, the Teen Titans start to feel sympathetic for her; even Raven begins to feel the same way, fully regretting on calling Terra a liar and an evil spy; Serena then hugs Terra, which causes her to become speechless and the Teen Titans, along with Tino, Ash, and the entire gang, gasp in surprise) It is not too late for you to atone for what you've done, Terra! It's your life! Your choice! We can still forgive you if you help us stop Slade and end to his reign of terror on the city once and for all! Don't let that psychopath control you the rest of your life! It's your power, not Slade's! I know you can do it! I believe in you! I will never leave you! I will always be with you! And so will everyone else in here! We'll remain with you until the end! Because we're like a family to you! A family that will take care of you and love you forever! Just don't give up until it's over!
(Terra is shaken by Serena's words of encouragement and starts tearing up)
- Beast Boy: It's your life, Terra. Your choice. It's never too late to change.
(Serena then lets go of Terra.)
- Terra: Serena.... I'm so sorry. (looks at Beast Boy) I'm sorry, Beast Boy. And I'm sorry, everybody. For everything I've done.
Terra vs Slade and The Villains/Terra's Sacrifice[edit | edit source]
(Beast Boy gives her one more doleful glance.)
- Serena: (puts her hand on her shoulder) I know you are. But I believe you'll make things right for all of us. If anyone is to be blamed for all of this, then it should be none other than Slade himself. Terra, it is up to you now. Make him pay for all the suffering he's inflicted on you and the Teen Titans. And on me, my friends, and everyone else in the city above. Give him the rightful punishment he deserves for the unforgiving things he's done. Believe you can control your powers. Wield the goodness that lies within you and bring it all out for everyone here to see.
- Terra: (smiles) Yes.
(Both Serena and Terra glare angrily at Slade. They both share one last glance. Serena responds with a confident nod, knowing she can defeat Slade and make him pay for the crimes he's committed and for the suffering he's caused to everyone. With that, Terra closes her fists and redirects the projectile upward.)
- Serena: Everybody, get out of the way! Terra's going to fight Slade in a one on one battle! We need to give her a little more room!
- Tino Tonitini: She's right! We need to give her some space. Let's move!
- Shido: Right. Everyone, run!
- Cera: Move it!
- Littlefoot: Watch out!
- Ash Ketchum & Sunset Shimmer: Look out!
(Tino, Ash, Sunset, Shido, and everyone else run out of Terra's way so she can fight Slade alone. With a scream of fury, Terra's projectile pivots to point in that direction, away from Serena, Beast Boy, Tino, Ash, the other four Titans, and the other heroes, and rockets directly at Slade. He jumps away from his vantage point, but the shock wave throws him off balance and sends him much farther back. She starts after him before anyone else can, then opens up a fissure to swallow him up; he leaps clear and perches amid a jumble of steel girders at the ceiling. This is only a temporary respite, though, as she floats up and breaks the beams' attachment points to send the mass of metal thundering down. Cyborg helps Serena clear away the rocks pinning Beast Boy.)
- Serena: (helps Beast Boy to his feet) Are you alright, Beast Boy?
- Beast Boy: (groans) Barely. But I'll be okay. Thanks to you.
- Serena: Can you still walk?
- Beast Boy: Yeah, I think so. I hope Terra defeats Slade for good.
- Serena: Don't worry, she will. Trust me. I know she will.
(Slade gets to his feet and finds Terra descending behind him; her gritted teeth and pinpoint pupils show that she has had all of him she can stand.)
- Slade: You ungrateful, little--
(Without finishing the thought, which surely would have ended with a very colorful obscenity, he charges at her. She holds her ground and brings up an immense column as he approaches; it carries him upward a bit too fast for his own comfort. The Titans, Tino, Ash, and the heroes look on from the far end of the lair. Serena grasps her hands against her heart, hoping that Terra will be okay. As loose rocks rain down everywhere, Slade is driven to his knees before Terra. She begins to pelt him with one chunk after another, pushing him to the edge of his perch and finally over it. As his scream fades away, she gasps for breath and lets her powers wind down. Long shot of her, floating slowly down to the area Slade stood on. Smoke and dust stream up as she steps cautiously to its edge and looks in. Close-up of the lip, panning slowly across the dark heights, then pull back. With not a hint of warning, Slade leaps out of the depths to crash a killer punch into her face. The strike lays her out, but not for long; he steps up, clamps one steel-gloved hand onto her breastplate, and hoists her up.)
- Slade: It looks like you're finished, you traitorous, little wretch. (goes to finish her)
(Seeing her friend in peril, Serena quickly snatches one of Robin's ammunition discs from his belt.)
- Robin: Hey!
(Serena throws the ammunition disc at Slade, exploding at him on impact and catching Slade off-guard.)
- Serena: Not quite, Slade. She hasn't lost yet. The only one who's finished around here is you.
- Slade: What are you talking about?!
- Serena: You failed to realize that you've underestimated our friendship with her and that you're repeating the same mistake you made with Robin. That kind of selfish arrogance is what's leading you to your downfall. You, Slade, are nothing more than an unholy demon who's trying to bring out the bad side within his victims. Because of you manipulating her into becoming your apprentice, you forced her to let out her inner demons and used them as a weapon against us. However, now that she's on the side of good once again, that hatred is no more. Thus, your evil plan of world conquest was meaningless. And there is nothing you can do or say to change that, Slade! (to Terra) Finish him now, Terra!
(Close-up of her, head lolling bonelessly on her neck, but she soon comes to, hair blowing wildly and eyes blazing as when she took on that giant scorpion ten episodes ago.)
- Terra: You can't control me anymore!
(On the last word, pull back to a silhouette view of both. The light of her power burns around their outlines. From-the-ground shot of the two; that terrible glow stands out as a brilliant sphere in the dim upper expanse. It intensifies greatly and starts to spread down the sides of the pillar, then blossoms into an infernal explosion that wipes out the screen.)
- -
- Jessie (Pokémon) and James: Team Rocket is blasting off again! (flies off along with the rest of the villains)
(When the view clears, we see the Titans and the heroes looking on with complete shock. The dust before them clears to show Terra standing alone on a piece of floating rock, with Slade nowhere in sight. The column she raised has been obliterated. She drops to her knees with a weary little groan. Now the entire underground complex begins to tremble as a jet of lava fountains up behind the Titans and the heroes.)
- Tino Tonitini: What's going on?!
- Robin: Terra's power! It's triggered a volcano! (Another eruption; Cyborg checks his forearm panel.)
- Cyborg: Big enough to take out the whole city! And way too big to stop!
(Suddenly, the earth trembles much more, making the ground crumble underneath Serena. She starts to fall straight into the pit of lava Slade somehow fell into when Terra finished him off. Ash tries to hold onto her, his loses his grip on her.)
- Ash Ketchum: SERENA!!! (his voice echoes as the scene goes into slow motion)
(Our heroes and the Titans look on in horror as Serena begins to fall to her apparent demise in the lava pit. But Terra, seeing her friend in mortal danger, becomes incredibly scared and gasps in terror. Terra quickly gets to her feet and, with absolute control of her powers, flies down forward toward Serena on her floating rock as fast as she could. She then reaches her arms out and quickly catches Serena before she can splash to her fiery death in the lava. The scene goes back into regular speed after Terra saves Serena from falling in the lava. Terra flies upward and lands her close friend safely down on the ground where Ash is. Our heroes and the Titans were incredibly amazed and touched with Terra's heroism and instantly cheered in excitement for her. Raven secretly smiled with pride, now that Terra has learned how to control her powers while proving her worth as a real Teen Titan to the team and a true friend to everyone around her. Serena, though overwhelmed by her near-death experience due to the boiling magma, looked up at Terra as she flew around on her floating rock and smiled proudly at her friend. But this was not the right time to celebrate, they were still in danger of the erupting volcano.)
- Raven: (uses her powers to block an incoming lava surge) This is not the time to celebrate yet! We have to get out of here!
- Sunset Shimmer: Right, let's go!
- Shido: Come on!
(Robin signals retreat, and all but Beast Boy follow.)
- Beast Boy: Terra! (She floats down to him amid the cataclysm.) Come on! We gotta go!
- Serena: Come on, Terra, we gotta get out of here from the lava tubes!
- Terra: (resolutely) I have to stay.
(The lava is now rising quickly, and more rocks are coming down.)
- Beast Boy: (horrified) No!
- Serena: But, Terra...
- Terra: I'm the only one who can stop it.
- Beast Boy: Please, Terra, you can't! It's too late!
(She brushes the hair from her face, giving him a clear view of both eyes for the first time since she left him in the funhouse to join Slade.)
- Terra: (smiles) It's never too late.
(His face softens as he realizes what this decision means; both for Jump City and for the flawed hero finally finding redemption, and Terra gives him one last hug. Close-up: Terra's eyes are filled with tears.)
- Terra: You were the best friend I ever had. (she then turns and hugs Serena) And Serena, thank you for being my friend as well. Take very good care of Ash.
- Serena: (with tears in her eyes) I will.
- Terra: Go! Get everyone out while there's still time!
- Serena: Wait! On the night of your betrayal, you were talking about regretting on joining forces with Slade and Tino's villains so you can control your powers, right? Well, during that night, me and Beast Boy knew that even though what you've done was unforgivable, there was still some goodness in you and that you can still do the right thing. And I also knew that deep down inside, you somehow loved your friends and you loved Beast Boy. You do love him, don't you?
- Terra: What Beast Boy and I had from that night is lost and never to be found ever again. Do not make the same mistakes I've made, Serena. Now, go! Get everyone out of here! And hurry!
(While more streams of molten rock spew forth around them, they back carefully away from her. Their platform splits between them, and she sends their half away. He keeps his eyes fixed on her for as long as he possibly can; she stands on her perch, hands glowing at her sides and her body ramrod-straight. Serena then solemnly waves goodbye to Terra since she was one of the only friends she's ever had in her life. As soon as both Serena and Beast Boy are within Cyborg's reach, they are pulled away and all five Titans head out. Serena rejoins Ash and fled with the others to escape the fiery inferno. Cut to a close-up of Terra, her ruined clothing hanging in shreds from beneath the steel plates. Her expression shows that for her, at this moment, nothing exists in her world except for the task of keeping the volcano from blowing its top. Every part of her body begins to glow yellow as the sea of boiling rock rages all around her; with her head bowed and her eyes closed, that mane of blond hair rises of its own accord. A lava gusher breaks wider, and the camera cuts to a shot of Slade's mask, lying abandoned and being engulfed by the red-hot torrent. Terra stands in her motionless battle against the impending destruction; now a column of light shoots upward from her body. Finally, she brings her fists up from her sides and clenches her teeth soundlessly for the biggest effort of her life. In a long shot, she voices one final scream as the energy and lava surge everywhere and the view fades to white.)
Serena mourning Terra's death and being comforted by her friends[edit | edit source]
(Fade in to a slow pan across the remains of Slade's lair. It is now totally quiet and still, and the lava has receded. The light through the stained-glass windows has gone out, and in the distance a small figure can be seen on an outcropping. Zoom in on this and dissolve to a close-up, still zooming; it is Terra, arms still spread wide, legs braced, hair blowing, but she has been turned to stone.)
- Beast Boy: (voice over) Her name was Terra.
(Fade to black, then in to a slow pan across a street in Jump City. It is nighttime. The fog has cleared, and neither Ternion nor any of Slade's robots are present.)
- Beast Boy: (voice over) She was gifted with tremendous power, and cursed with it as well.
(Dissolve to a sidewalk. A couple of fellows walk past the cars parked at the curb.)
- Beast Boy: (voice over) She was a dangerous enemy... (Another car rolls up.) ...and a good friend.
(Dissolve to the Titans walking through the remains of Slade's lair. Starfire carries a bouquet of roses.)
- Beast Boy: (voice over) And she was one of the bravest people that I have ever known.
(During this line, they reach the stone former Titan/villain, who has been moved to an easily accessible outcropping that serves as a natural pedestal. A rectangular recess has been carved into its front face. Close-up of the feet; Starfire reaches into view and lays her flowers gently between them.)
- Starfire: I shall miss you, friend.
- Tino Tonitini: We will always remember you, Terra.
- Raven: We'll be searching for a way to reverse the effect. (Beast Boy now holds something flat.)
- Robin: We'll bring her back.
- Cyborg: Someday.
(The one Titan who has yet to speak up here steps forward and sets his object at the edge of Terra's pedestal.)
- Beast Boy: (voice breaking) I'll never forget you, Terra.
(He bows his head and closes his eyes for a moment, then heads out with the others. Serena stays behind for a moment.)
- Serena: (sighs sadly as she places the heart-shaped box that Beast Boy gave to Terra before her betrayal under her pedestal) Thank you, Terra. Thank you so much for saving us and for saving me. You've learned how to fully control your powers and you did it by giving your life for the sake of your friends. Your sacrifice will always be remembered. As of today, you are now truly and officially a Teen Titan and a real friend. Farewell, Terra. You will surely be missed.
(Serena then has a series of flashbacks of her times with Terra as close friends prior to her betrayal. The final flashback shows them sitting near the shore, laughing together.)
- Terra: (flashback) Serena, you're one of my very best friends.
- Serena: (flashback) And you're mine too, Terra.
- Terra: (flashback) And we'll always be friends forever. Won't we?
- Serena: (flashback) Yeah, forever and ever. (shakes hands)
- Serena and Terra: (flashback) BFFs for life! (laughs)
(The flashback ends. Serena then drops to her knees and breaks down crying, catching everyone's attention.)
- Ash Ketchum: (walks up to his crying friend and kneels down next to her) Serena...?
- Serena: (sniffles) It's all my fault, Ash. Beast Boy and I couldn't save Terra. We wanted her to come with us, but she chose to stay behind. And now, she's gone forever and we'll never see her again. (cries)
- Ash Ketchum: Hey. (hugs her and comforts her) Shh. There, there, Serena. Don't cry, now. Everything's alright. There was nothing you and Beast Boy could've done. In fact, there was nothing any of us could've done. Terra did what she had to do. She did that in order to save us and the city. And from what she did, we're very proud of her for her sacrifice and of you.
- Serena: Of me? For what?
- Ash Ketchum: For your wisdom and courage. Today, you gave us a wonderful gift and a spectacular lesson in what it means to be a real hero. You and Beast Boy believed in Terra and had a lot more faith in her when none of us didn't. You both never gave up on her when the rest of us did. You've transformed her from a back-stabbing traitor working as an apprentice for a mercenary supervillain into a selfless hero who gave her life for the sake of her friends. And because of that, you've officially made her become a Teen Titan and a true friend to us once again when she saved your life right in front of our eyes. And if your wisdom hadn't snapped us out of our rage and helped us see the light on what the severity of the situation is, it would've taken us this long to realize the trouble she was going through until now. And how deeply connected you are with her. You've shown the Teen Titans that talking her down without attacking head on is a much more peaceful approach than mercilessly killing her. You even showed them that it's better to forgive Terra rather than hold an unhealthy resentment against her. Even though they were angry at her and blinded with rage for attempting to murder them through Slade's command, you always knew deep down inside, they have the heart to forgive her, for which in the end after she sacrificed herself, they did. You've been the most merciful, most honorable, most peaceful, most bravest, most gentle, most kindest, most honest, most trustworthy, most friendly, and most unselfish person the Teen Titans have ever seen. And you know what? You've also reminded me of my famous catchphrase that I've nearly forgotten, "Don't give up 'til it's over!". What you did today has demonstrated that you don't need gadgets nor superpowers to be a Teen Titan. Although you're a Pokémon Performer on the outside, you've shown us that you have the heart and soul of a Teen Titan on the inside, Serena. And we are very proud of you.
- Serena: Really?
- Ash Ketchum: Yeah. And besides, you still got all of us as your friends. Does everyone else agree with me?
(Tino, Sunset, the Teen Titans and everyone else agree by nodding their heads. After hearing Ash's heart-warming words to Serena, the Teen Titans felt touched by it. Starfire was tearing up with happiness and so was Cyborg. Robin smiled proudly at Serena, indicating that he is very proud of her for her wisdom and courage. Raven also smiled at Serena, indicating that she's also very proud of her, not just for her wisdom and courage, but for showing her that Terra can still be a wonderful, trustworthy friend to the team and to her. Beast Boy silently cried to himself, thanking Serena for not giving up on Terra. The rest of the group stood there and smiled proudly at Serena for everything she demonstrated through her wisdom and courage. With that, Serena was speechless.)
- Ash Ketchum: You see?
- Serena: (calms down a bit) You're right. Thank you, Ash. Thank you, everybody.
- Ash Ketchum: No problem. Now, come with us. We'll take you home and have Cyborg here cook you up something good to eat. 'Cause you deserve it.
- Serena: Thank you.
- Pikachu: (hops on Ash's shoulder and looks happily at Serena) Pikachu.
- Tino Tonitini: You've done good, Serena. You've done good.
- Cyborg: You sure did.
- Beast Boy: Hey, don't you worry about a thing, Serena. You still got us as your friends.
- Starfire: And we'll stay by your side whenever you need us.
- Raven: We're all going to take care of you the same way you took care of Terra.
- Robin: And in the end, Serena, everything will turn out alright. You'll see.
- Raven: And Serena?
- Serena: Yes, Raven?
- Raven: (sighs) We're sorry we doubted you. We were all wrong about her being a liar and an evil spy. And I was wrong about her as well. We had no idea she was that important to you until now. I just wish there was a way to bring her back so you can be with her again.
- Serena: (gently places her hand on her shoulder) Don't be so hard on yourself, Raven. You were just trying to keep me and everyone else here safe. I knew you meant well.
- Starfire: But, Serena, we doubted your friendship with Terra, called you weak due to your gentle nature, and ignored your protests about her being evil. We've treated you so wickedly because of Slade's bad influence on her. How can you ever forgive us after making you put up with the harsh treatment we've inflicted on you?
- Serena: It wasn't easy at first. But I've soon realized that holding grudges is pointless. I had to find confidence in myself and to trust my instincts in order to forgive those who hurt me. Someone very wise told me.
- Cyborg: Who?
- Serena: It's a secret.
- Beast Boy: Hey, Serena, now that you've forgiven us, is there anyway we can do to make things up to you?
- Serena: Well, I still have much to learn about you, guys. I have much to learn about Starfire's Tamaranean culture. And I have much to learn about Azarath. And if you guys want, I could lend you a helping hand in battling when there is trouble in the city. That is, if it doesn't bother you that much.
- Cyborg: Oh, that's no bother at all.
- Beast Boy: We totally appreciate it.
- Raven: Of course.
- Starfire: Oh, most definitely, friend! (hugs Serena)
- Robin: Yeah, we wouldn't mind it one bit.
- Serena: Uh, Robin, listen, about me taking one of your...
- Robin: (cuts her off) Don't worry about it. I understand. You did that to help your friend so she can finish Slade off. That was something we would've done if he was going to finish you. And I'm very proud that you did that.
- Serena: (smiles) Thanks. And as much as how you were a bit cautious in the danger I was getting into while walking towards Terra, I really do appreciate you guys looking out for me.
- Starfire: Really?
- Cyborg: You do?
- Raven: You mean that?
- Serena: Of course.
- Beast Boy: (blushes) Aww, Serena. That means a lot to us. Thanks.
(Serena hugs each one of the Teen Titans in full appreciation for looking out for her. Tino, Ash, and everyone else watch with proud smiles on their faces.)
- Robin: Now, let's all go home.
(Everyone turns and heads home to give Serena a celebration party in honor of her bravery and in honor of Terra's sacrifice.)
- Robin: Ash, can Raven and I talk to you for a moment?
- Ash Ketchum: Sure. Robin, please hear me out. We're all very sorry that Terra's betrayal hurt you and your team so much. And we get it. We know what it's like to be hurt from someone whose broken your trust. But please, don't take your anger out on Serena just because she was more loyal towards Terra than any of you. This isn't all her fault that she befriended her in the first place. You guys are better than that. She just wanted to help Terra more than anything in the whole world. Please give her another ch-
- Robin: (cuts him off) Hey, hey, hey. Ash, it's alright. We understand. Serena had nothing to do with Terra's betrayal. We would never hold anything against one of your friends. After seeing how commendable her loyalty was towards her, we see now that she's done nothing wrong with befriending her.
- Ash Ketchum: You mean you guys aren't mad at her for making friends with Terra?
- Robin: No, of course not. How could we be mad at her about that? We're proud that she did. In fact, you were right, Ash. Miracles really can happen. Even during the most impossible odds. (looks at Serena as she leaves with the rest of his team) Your friend sure has a way with words.
- Raven: You can say that again. She reminds me of, well, you.
- Ash Ketchum: Thanks.
- Robin: In fact, can you give this to her when you have the chance? (gives Ash a Titans communicator)
- Ash Ketchum: A Titans communicator?
- Robin: Yeah.
- Raven: Tell her to consider it as a gift from us to her.
- Robin: A thank you gift for helping us find a more easier and peaceful approach on helping Terra, stopping Slade's crime spree, and saving the city all at the same time. Will you do that?
- Ash Ketchum: Of course. I'd be honored. This would've made Terra really happy for her. (turns and sees the petrified Terra) But I think she's in a better place. Now that she learned how to fully control her powers and now that she's become one with the Earth, she is at peace. She's free from her insecurities and free from her suffering.
- Robin and Raven: Yeah.
- Robin: You're one lucky kid to have someone like her, Ash.
- Raven: And you know what? I bet there's other people in the world who are just like her.
- Ash Ketchum: I'm sure there are, Rae. I'm sure there are.
(They turn and head for home.)
(Cut to a close-up of the petrified blonde's head and tilt down to her feet. There, below the roses, we now see Beast Boy's offering; a plaque, set into the recess, bearing these words.)
TERRA
A TEEN TITAN
A TRUE FRIEND
(Zoom in slightly, then dissolve to a close-up of the plaque and fade to black.)
Serena's depression/A Happy Ending[edit | edit source]
(Back at the tower, Serena is sitting on the couch, looking at the last picture she and Terra took together when they were still friends before her betrayal. She sighs sadly, knowing that she'll miss her very much. But she knows she's in a better place now and is no longer a slave to a horrific monster like Slade.)
- Ash Ketchum: She's still taking it too hard, guys.
- Robin: She's still sad over Terra's death?
- Ash Ketchum: I'm afraid so.
- Cyborg: I don't get it. I thought she'd feel better by now.
- Starfire: Me too.
- Raven: Me too.
- Beast Boy: Me too. So why is she still sad?
- Ash Ketchum: Well, maybe she's sad not just because of Slade's evil corruption of Terra as well as Terra's death. She's also sad because of....you and us.
- Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven: Us?
- Starfire: What did we do? We did not do anything wrong to her. Did we?
- Tino Tonitini: Well, did it ever occurred to us that our monstrous behavior we've inflicted on Terra back there went a little overboard and that it hurt Serena so much down to the core? I know we were angry at her for what she's done and what she tried to do to you, guys, but Serena did make a good point down there. We had no idea she was being controlled by Slade like a puppet. We had no idea that Slade was trying to kill you through her. And we had no idea that her suit was linked to her skin. If we'd realized it sooner, we'd never have behaved like monsters back there. Throughout this entire process, she was trying to tell us all about what was really wrong with Terra. But instead of listening, we chose to turn our backs on her and ignore her.
- Starfire: Oh, maybe you are right, Tino.
- Cyborg: Yeah, we went a little overboard with our thirst for vengeance.
- Robin: I guess we never thought about severity about the situation. We've been too busy focusing on getting back at Terra.
- Beast Boy: Yeah, we've been a bunch of lousy friends to her.
- Raven: Well, I still wanted to take her down after what she did. I still resent her for the horrible things she's done and I won't forgive her for that since she's always had been a liar and a spy.
(Everyone glares at Raven in a stern look.)
- Ash Ketchum: Raven, I know what Terra did was wrong, but need I remind you that you were there when you witnessed Serena shedding tears and saw how sad she felt during her last confrontation with her. (flashbacks of Serena's final confrontation was shown as Ash explains to Raven) You and everyone else felt sympathetic towards her and towards Terra too as she poured her heart out to her. Look, you may say that Terra had always been evil and always will be evil, but Serena showed us that she hasn't been truly evil as you believed she was. She proved that you and the rest of us were wrong about her down there. You even admitted that you were wrong about Terra and she forgave you for misjudging her. And you were also there to witness Terra saving Serena's life before her sacrifice. (The flashback ends) Remember?
- Raven: (starts to think it over) Hmm...
- Ash Ketchum: The point, Raven, is that if it hadn't been for my friend in there, it would've taken us this long to realize how connected she was with her. And if it hadn't for both Terra's redemption and sacrifice as well as Serena's peaceful ways, you and your teammates would've been goners and the city would've been destroyed by Slade right now. I think they deserve a lot more praise of being heroes for saving the day and stopping Slade for good. And I think that gives them the right to have that honor more than anyone else and you should know that by now.
- Raven: (her face softens up and becomes remorseful, seeing that Ash makes a good point; sighs) Oh, I guess you do make a good point, Ash. Serena did prove that I was wrong about Terra down there and we have indeed gone overboard with our thirst for vengeance on her. We're as much to blame for her depression over Terra's death as Slade is. (facepalms and sighs sadly) What have we done? This is all our fault.
- Beast Boy: What are we going to do?
- Cyborg: Yeah. There has to be someway we can do to make up to her.
- Starfire: But how?
- Sunset Shimmer: Hmmm.... (gasps) Hey! I've got an idea!
(They huddle together and Sunset explains her idea. Soon, Tino, the Titans and the gang appeared to be building something in Terra's former room.)
- Tino Tonitini: Phew! There, that should do it.
- Robin: Okay, everything's all set. Great job, everyone.
- Shaggy Rogers: All in a hard day's work, man.
- Scooby-Doo: Yeah. (giggles)
- Brock: Now, there's only one more thing left we need to do.
(Serena is still looking at the photo and is still sad. Ash sneaks up behind her.)
- Ash Ketchum: Serena!
- Serena: Ahh! Oh, Ash. It's you. Heh. You really need to stop sneaking up on me like that.
- Ash Ketchum: (chuckles) Sorry. But we got a special surprise for you.
- Serena: A surprise?
- Ash Ketchum: Yeah. Come on, now! Let's go! (grabs her hand and covers her eyes with one hand)
- Serena: Um, Ash, what are you doing?
- Ash Ketchum: Shh-shh-shh-shh. It's all part of the surprise. So, don't spoil it. (Serena nearly slips) Whoa, watch your step there. Watch your step.
- Serena: Uh, can you at least tell me where we're going?
- Ash Ketchum: Not yet, not yet. (Serena nearly trips over the stairs) Sorry, little incline over there. Now, just around this corner over here. (Serena hits her head against the wall) Ooh! Sorry. Watch your head. But don't worry. We're almost there. Now, through the double doors and into this room and voilà! (uncovers her eyes and Cyborg turns on the lights) Surprise!
(Serena gasps in a wondrous surprise. It turns out that Tino, the Titans, Ash, Sunset, and everyone else turned Terra's former bedroom into a beautiful memorial site built in honor of Terra's heroic sacrifice. As Serena looks around, everyone looks on with bright smiles on their faces. It contains numerous pictures of the times everyone had with Terra, movie slides made by Robin about Terra's everlasting friendship with Serena, a book written by Raven about the life of Terra and her adventures, toys and action figures made by Cyborg to be based on Terra along with the Titans themselves, and most of all, a monumental statue of Terra built by everyone as a centerpiece containing the words similar to the ones written on the plaque in the ruins of Slade's hideout: "Terra, A Teen Titan, A True Friend." And below it contains Ash's catchphrase that inspired her so much and helped her win Terra back to the side of good: "Don't give up until it's over!". Serena is left speechless and couldn't think of a word to say.)
- Ash Ketchum: Well? What do you think?
- Leni Loud: Do you toads like it?
- Serena: You did all of this for me?
- Ash Ketchum: Yeah.
- Misty: Not just for you.
- Brock: But for Terra too.
- Serena: Really?
- Sunset Shimmer: Of course.
(The Titans walk up to Serena with sad, remorseful faces.)
- Beast Boy: We just wanted to show you how much we still care about Terra. And how much we still value her as an ally and a friend.
- Robin: Look, Serena, we have something to say to you. We've been acting like a bunch of savage jerks back there. We're really sorry we didn't listen to you and for trying to inflict harm on Terra. We've been so caught up with our thirst for vengeance on Terra that we've forgotten who our true enemy really was. But please understand, Serena. We weren't trying to purposely maim her out of cold blood. We were just trying to get back at her for what she's done and the fact that she's worked for Slade. We didn't know Slade was controlling her every move. We had no idea that the suit she wore was linked to her skin. And most of all, we should've known that her attempted murder on us was all Slade's doing all along. If we'd realized it sooner, we'd never should've been so mad at her and had that desire to physically harm her. After seeing you cry while talking her down and mourning her death, we felt bad for what we nearly did. And we don't blame you for being upset. But you don't deserve this kind of sorrow because of us. And because of Slade. You deserved more than that. If it hadn't been for you calming us down and patching things through with Terra down there, (lowers his head down in sadness) we would've been just like Slade. (the four other Titans lowered their heads down in sadness as well) Murderous, cruel, ignorant, inconsiderate, bloodthirsty, monstrous, merciless, remorseless, and emotionless animals. Throughout this entire process, you've been trying to tell us what was actually wrong with Terra. But instead of listening to reason, we turned our backs on you and completely ignored you. Our anger, pride, and lust for vengeance clouded our better judgment. My teammates and I owe you our most sincerest apologies and we hope you can find it in your heart to forgive us.
- Cyborg: Though you were still very loyal to her than any of us were, it doesn't mean we'd have to treat you in a violent, merciless manner too. So, we thought we'd built this memorial site to help honor your friendship with her and make things right with you.
- Starfire: Even if we were all still mad at her and unable to forgive her in the end like you were, we can at least try to forget about her betrayal and remember the good times we have had with her together for your sake.
- Raven: Because the last thing any of us want is to lose you as a friend. All we want is for you to be happy with us.
- Serena: Aww! That's-That's really sweet of you, guys. It means so much to me. Thanks so much! (gives everyone a hug)
- Robin: We'll bring Terra back someday, Serena. We promise.
- Beast Boy: Someday. But not today. Today, we honor her with this memorial site.
- Cyborg: Now, come on! Let's go downstairs and celebrate!
- Tino Tonitini: Alright!
- Sunset Shimmer: Let's party!
- Starfire: Glorious!
(Everyone rushes downstairs to celebrate. Ash and Serena stay behind for a bit.)
- Ash Ketchum: Serena, before we go, Robin wanted you to have this. (gives her the Titans communicator)
- Serena: A Teen Titans communicator?
- Ash Ketchum: They said to consider it a gift. A gift for bringing Terra back to the side of good again, helping them stop Slade and his crime spree, and save the city all at the same time. You've been a hero to not only to Terra, but to them as well. And they think you deserve this communicator for everything you've done.
- Serena: Oh, that's great! I should go give them my thanks right now.
- Ash Ketchum: Well, come on then! Let's go celebrate! (goes off to join the others, but stops when he notices Serena isn't following him) Aren't you coming?
- Serena: Yeah, just give me a moment. I'll be right there.
- Ash Ketchum: Oh, that's okay. Take as much time as you want. It's no big hurry. (runs off)
(Serena looks at the statue with a bright smile on her face, now that she's no longer depressed. She now knows that as long as Terra remains in her heart and is with the friends she has right now, she is never alone. She then looks at the communicator she just received as a gift from the Titans, seeing that her friendship with them is restored for the better. She not only gained absolute faith and trust in them, but she also has gained five new allies she can call upon for help or to answer their calls when they need her. She then puts her communicator in her bag, turns around and runs off to join the others in celebration, leaving her past with Terra behind and looking forward into the future. Outside the tower, Mufasa appears through the clouds and smiles warmly, indicating that he is immensely proud of Serena for her efforts. At last, the terror known as Slade has been silenced forever, Terra learned how to fully master her powers and now is at peace, and everyone is safe once more. Or are they?...)
