The Rats Who Came to Dinner/Transcript
This is the transcript for the Ash Ketchum and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh episode, The Rats Who Came to Dinner
Opening/Weather forecast[edit | edit source]
(The episode begins with Ash and his friends watching the news story about the latest weather forecast. And what they are about to hear is not a very pretty one.)
Mayor Davis: Severe thunderstorms and a lot of torrential rain will be approaching our area. Which could lead up to a flash flood warning. Residents, please be very judicious when you are outside. If it starts raining, seek for shelter right away. If you are inside, make sure that your roofs are not leaking and that your basements are safe.
Misty: Whoa... You guys hear that? There's a flash flood warning affecting our area! Including the Hundred Acre Wood!
Brock: Yeah. We'd better prepare ourselves for the storm.
Ash Ketchum: You're right. Let's get as much supplies as we can. We would need food, blankets, clothes, first aid kits, pillows, batteries, and flashlights in case the power goes out. Come on! (they hurry to gather as much supplies as they can to prepare the worse of the storm) I wonder how Pooh Bear and his friends are doing out there, Pikachu. I hope they not in danger.
Pikachu: Pikachu.
The pack rats' home floods/The rats take refuge in Pooh's house[edit | edit source]

Pooh Bear: (hearing the rats banging on the door outside) I hope that's not more water wanting to come inside. (opens the door) Hello? (the rats run in, and Pooh gets spun around by them) Oh! (he stops spinning; gasps upon seeing the rats warming themselves up by the fireplace) The pack rats!!!
Pack rat #3: (catches a cold and a giant sneeze from the rain) AaaaahChooooooooooo!!!
Pooh Bear: Burglars! Thieves! Help!!! (Thunderclaps)
Pack rats' thievery/Pooh Bear's "gift"[edit | edit source]
Piglet: (grunts as he pushes a tub full of water) Oh my goodness. (grunts until he stops and starts bailing; but is unaware that the rats snuck into his house through the window) If only these leaks would make up their minds. (but as he bails, the rats steal the kettle and the pot and replace them with walnuts) Oh, d-d-d-dear!
(At Rabbit's house, he tries to bail water out through the waterspout in his sink.)
Rabbit: Out! Out! Out, out, out! D'uoh! Pretty soon, they'll be more water in here then outside.
(Just then, Gopher saws through the floor, drains the water that's flooding Rabbit's home and climbs in.)
Gopher: Ha! Think you got it bad? (pulls his suitcase up) My tunnels are soaked! Uh, this weather isn't fit for man or beef! Uh, not to mention gophers.
(But little did anyone knew, the rats snuck in through the hole Gopher made.)
Rabbit: (sighs) Alright, Gopher, if you want to stay, grab a pot and start bailing.
Gopher: (looks through the cabinet) Hmmm... Seems like somebody's already grabbed them, Rabbit. (shows that the cabinet is full of walnuts) And it's not too hard to figure out who.
Rabbit: (gasps) The pack rats!
The rats steal Pooh's stuff/Pooh's friends try to capture the rats[edit | edit source]
Pack rat #1: Oh! Give, give, give! Make happy, happy, happy! Come on!
Pack rat #3: Uh,... happy, happy?
(The pack rats leave to go do what they always do: take things that don't belong to them. Pooh continues to sleep until the thunder scares him. He then sees that his stuffs are gone.)
Pooh Bear: Oh, no! I must be sleeping in my sleep again. I think.
(At Piglet's house, Piglet is sleeping, and he feels a drop of water in his nose, much to his fright.)
Piglet: Yikes! Yah! (notices Pooh's stuff in his house) What are all of Pooh's things doing here? I'm going to have to see Pooh about this. If he wants to move in with me, he's going to have to ask first.
(Back at the cabin, Ash and his friends are very worried about Pooh and his friends as they prepare to go to sleep.)
Misty: (groans) Guys, this weather is making me feel so uncomfortable. Every time I look outside, I get more worried about Pooh Bear and his friends by the second. What if they get sick? Or worse? What if they (gulps) drowned?
Brock: Oh, relax, Misty. I'm sure they're alright.
Ash Ketchum: Yeah. Tomorrow we will go out and look for them. Hopefully the rain will stop.
Pikachu: Pikachu!
Brock: Now, how's about we all go to bed early tonight?
Ash Ketchum: Alright.
Misty: Sure.
Brock: We'll get up early tomorrow once the rain stops and look for them.
(They all go to sleep and hope that they will be okay.)
Pikachu: Pika, Pika.
(Back at Pooh's house, as the rain continues pouring, Pooh is reprimanding the pack rats for their actions of stealing his stuff.)
Pooh Bear: But why did you take my things? And without asking? When someone does someone nice for you, you're supposed to do something nice for them. That's called friendship. And I thought you were my friends.
Pack rats: Nice, nice. Friends, friends. (kiss Pooh's feet until they hear a grinding sound; gasps)
(The grinding sound turns out to be Gopher sawing through Pooh's floor.)
Gopher: (pops up through the hole) Good work, sonny! You captured the rascals right in the act!
Rabbit: (comes out with Tigger, Piglet, and Gopher) You did the right thing, Pooh Bear.
Tigger: Ugh!
Rabbit: Now, let us handle them. (tries to capture them with a net and begins chasing them around the house)
Piglet: (giggles) Don't worry, Pooh. They took all of your things, but they gave them to me. They must've known that you were best friends.
Tigger: Ha! You got them on the run, Bunny Boy! Ha! Now, trap those rats like, uh, uh, uh, like rats.
Pooh Bear: Um, excuse me, but do thieves usually give things away to piglets, Tigger?
Tigger: They was probably just being extra double sneaky. Taking and giving and giving and taking.
Pooh Bear: Take, give? (begins to get what Tigger is saying) Take, give! (to Rabbit) Wait! (Rabbit and the pack rats stop running) Uh-uh, they're not thieves, they're just a little, uh, confused. It was something I said, I think.
Pack rat #1: Give, give. Nice, nice.
Piglet: Pooh's very soft-hearted.
Tigger: Soft-headed if you ask me.
Gopher: Well, it won't work this time! First, your house, Pooh, and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood!
Rabbit: I'm going to put a stop to this right NOW! (snatches the rats with his net and goes to the front door)
Pooh Bear: But Rabbit...
Rabbit: (selfishly) No "buts", Pooh!
(But Pooh had every right to try to warn Rabbit as he stupidly opens the door and inadvertently lets a massive torrent of water flood Pooh's house, causing it to burst a big spout of water above the tree with everyone floating up above.)
Pack rat #1: Nice, nice! Nice, nice!
Pack rat #2: Yeah, nice, nice!
Pack rat #3: Uh, nice! Uh-huh!
(The rats jump off and dive down.)
Rabbit: After them! They'll rob our homes next! Quick, follow me! (stupidly falls off) YAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!
Pooh Bear: Do we have to, Rabbit?
Ash and his friends go look for Pooh and the gang/The rats revealed to have saved everyone's stuff from the flood[edit | edit source]
(Soon, while the rain slowly begins to subside, Pooh and his friends are letting Gopher investigate their homes in a scuba-diving suit. He is then hoisted back up.)
Gopher: Rabbit's house is just like the others. Nothing there but stripped bare. Clean as a whistle. (Rabbit digs into the bag and finds walnuts) Nothing but these walnuts.
Pooh Bear: (sighs sadly) Maybe they really are thieves.
(Meanwhile, the next day, our heroes' cabin appears to be intact as the water could not come up to them nor leak inside. Ash, Misty, and Brock are sound asleep. Brock was the first to wake up and notices something strange.)
Brock: (gasps) Hey, Ash, wake up!
Ash Ketchum: Man the liferaft! Ow! (rubs his head) Ooh! I mean, what's up, Brock? What happened?
Brock: There's something strange going on. Do you hear that?
Ash Ketchum: No, I don't hear anything.
Brock: That's what so strange. (opens the window and gasps) Hey, guys, the rain stopped!
Ash Ketchum: Yeah, but look... Everything's flooded.
Brock: Oh...
Misty: What's all the commotion?
Brock: The rain stopped, Misty. And come look outside. Everything is flooded.
Misty: (gasps) Oh, my!!!
Pikachu: Pika?!
Ash Ketchum: We gotta go look for Pooh and the others and see if they're all okay.
Misty: Yes! Yes, of course! We must!
Brock: Absolutely!
(Outside, Misty summons her Gyarados.)
Misty: Gyarados, we need you to guide us through this flood. We're on a search and rescue for some friends who got stranded out there and we need your help finding them.
Gyarados: (growls affirmatively)
Pidgeot: Pidgeo!!!
Talonflame: Talonflame!!
Crobat: Cro!
(Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu all sail across the flood in a desperate attempt to find and rescue their friends.)
Ash Ketchum: Pooh Bear!
Misty: Piglet, Kanga, Roo!
Brock: Rabbit, Tigger, Owl, Eeyore, Gopher!
Pikachu: Pika, Pikachu!!!
Misty: Where are they?
Brock: We'll find them. They can't be far. Pooh! Piglet!
Ash Ketchum: Rabbit! Tigger! Kanga!
Misty: Owl! Gopher! Roo! Eeyore!
(After 3 hours of searching, our heroes are starting to get tired.)
Misty: (breathes heavily) I'm starting to feel tired.
Ash Ketchum: Me too. And my voice is starting to hurt.
Brock: As much as I hate to say this, but mine is too.
Pikachu: (senses something) Pi? (looks out and sees something) Pikachu!
Ash Ketchum: What's wrong, Pikachu?
Pikachu: Pika, Pika!
(They see Kanga and Roo waving up to them.)
Brock: Hey, isn't that-?
Ash Ketchum: Yeah! It's Kanga and Roo!
Misty: Gyarados, full speed ahead!
(Gyarados swims up to Kanga and Roo.)
Kanga: Oh, thank goodness you've found us! (hands them Roo) Roo, dear, you go first.
Roo: Okay, Mama.
Misty: (takes Roo) It's okay, Roo. I've got you. Don't be scared.
Brock: Come with me, Kanga. (grabs Kanga)
-
-
-
Misty: Look! It's Eeyore! Guys, he's hurt his leg!
Brock: Oh, no! He probably can't swim!
Ash Ketchum: Then I'll have to go and get him! (jumps into the water and begins swimming for Eeyore)
-
-
Ash Ketchum: (grunts as he tries to lift Eeyore) Come...on..., Eeyore!
-
-
-
Brock: Where does it hurt, Eeyore?
Eeyore: (squeals) Right there...
Brock: Looks like his gotta a nasty sprain. He's gonna need a splint. I'll go get a board and some bandages.
Misty: Hurry, he's frightened. Don't be afraid. We got you.
Ash Ketchum: Stay still, Eeyore.
Kanga: It'll be fine.
-
-
Brock: (wraps up Eeyore's leg with bandages and a board to help support it) There, that should do it.
Misty: What do you think, Kanga? Will Eeyore be okay?
Kanga: I think his leg will be as right as rain in no time. Thanks to you.
-
-
Kanga: You kids go on ahead and look for everyone else that's still stuck out there. Roo and I will stay here and look after Eeyore. Won't we, dear?
Roo: Yes, Mama.
Ash Ketchum: Thanks, Kanga.
(Meanwhile, Pooh and his friends revealed to have taken refuge at Owl's house.)
Owl: Hoo-ho! This is nothing. Why, back in aught 6, the water rose so high, it flooded the rain clouds. There, there. If the pack rats hadn't taken your things, the flood would have ruined them.
Rabbit: That's not the point! They stole our things!
Tigger: Gone! Everything I had! Nothing less! (crying)
Pooh Bear: But you never had anything, Tigger.
Tigger: (cheers up) Hey, you're right, kiddo! Ha! Saved by circumchances!
Pack rats: (appear at Owl's front door; jittering in excitement before Pooh and the gang chase them inside)
Rabbit: Grab them! They're after Owl's things too!
Pack Rat #1: No, no, no! Lookie! Lookie!
Gopher: Hmmm... Why do they want us to look in the closet?
Rabbit: Because it's a trick of some sort. I'll prove it!
(But it is not a trick like Rabbit assumed! It is all of the missing stuff that the pack rats stole from everyone's homes. Rabbit screams as an avalanche of clutter falls onto him and everyone else in Owl's house. Somewhere, not so far from Owl's house, Ash and his friends, while sailing on the tailfin of Gyarados, hear the noise as the avalanche of clutter plows open the doors and windows.)
Ash, Misty, and Brock: Huh?
Pikachu: Pika?
(As the dust clears, Pooh comes out and finds one of his honey pots.)
Pooh Bear: Oh, my! (giggles)
Gopher: (finds one of his hammers) Well, what do you know? My ball peen hammer!
Piglet: (finds one of his old family portraits) Oh, they didn't steal our things. They saved them from the flood.
Pack rats: Ta-da!!!
Rabbit: (astounded) Then they're not thieves? They're heroes?!
Pooh and his friends reunite with Ash, Misty, and Brock/Ending[edit | edit source]
Ash Ketchum: (o.c) Ahoy, there, mateys!
Rabbit: Huh?
Pooh and his friends: Ash?!
(Pooh and the gang rush out and see Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Brock waving up to them sailing on Gyarados.)
Ash Ketchum: Ahoy, there!
Pooh and his friends: Hey!!! (climb down and embrace them)
Misty: There you all are!
Brock: We've looked all over for you!
Ash Ketchum: We were so worried! Are you all okay?!
Pooh Bear: Oh, we're fine, Ash.
Piglet: Yeah, we're alright.
Gopher: Don't worry about us.
Rabbit: We're all okay.
Tigger: Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Absoposilutely!
Pooh Bear: But you should thank our little friends, the pack rats.
Ash, Misty, and Brock: Pack rats?
Piglet: (giggles) Yes.
Tigger: Pooh Boy made friends with them during the flood and taught them about giving instead of stealing.
Ash Ketchum: You did, Pooh?
Pooh Bear: I did. Didn't I?
Rabbit: (whispers in Ash's ear) He actually did.
Ash Ketchum: Ah.
Pack rats: (appear on the branch; jittering in excitement)
Misty: Are those the pack rats you were referring to?
Gopher: Yes, they are.
Piglet: We all thought they stole our stuff. But it turns out that they saved them from the flood by putting them in Owl's closet.
Brock: Really?
Pooh and his friends: Yeah.
Ash Ketchum: Sounds like you guys had quite an adventure during this flood.
Piglet: (giggles) Yes.
Pooh and the rest of his friends: (chattering in agreement)
Misty: (chuckles) I guess you don't have to worry about your stuff getting damaged by the flood. (but looks sad upon seeing the how much damage the flood had done to the Hundred Acre Wood) Oh, dear... It looks like the flood really took a major toll on your homes. Didn't it?
Pooh and the rest of his friends: (they sadly shake their heads)
Brock: Well, if you guys are looking for a dry place to stay, you're in luck. Our cabin's the only place that hasn't flooded 'cause we're on a steep hill. And during the storm, our roof hasn't leaked, and our basement hasn't flooded.
Ash Ketchum: Which means you'll have to stay with us until the flood subsides.
Misty: And once it does, we'll help you clean out the water that leaked into your houses.
Rabbit: Really? Thanks so much, guys.
Tigger: Yeah, thanks!
Piglet: Aww, thank you very much!
Gopher: Thanks!
Pooh Bear: Yes, thank you. I think. Hey, uh, can the pack rats stay with us as well? They did save our stuff from the flood. And plus, (whispers) their home's flooded too.
(Ash and his friends look up and see the pack rats looking down with sad faces due to what they've gone through during the flood.)
Ash Ketchum: (shrugs his shoulders) Ha. Alright, Pooh Bear, they can stay too.
Misty: As long as they don't cause any mischief in our cabin, they're most welcome to stay.
Pack rats: (jittering in excitement)
Brock: (chuckles) Guess it can't be helped.
(Soon at the cabin, everyone is nice and cozy by the fire, holding cups of hot chocolate.)
Misty: Everyone all nice and comfy?
Pooh and his friends (including Kanga, Roo, and Eeyore they picked up and dropped off before finding the rest along the way): Yeah!
Pack rats: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Rabbit: (feeling a bit remorseful) Hey, uh, listen, Pooh. I'm sorry that I tried to hurt your little, uh, friends. And I am sorry that I flooded your, uh, house. I hope you can forgive me.
Pooh Bear: Oh, don't worry about it, Rabbit. (giggles) My home may be flooded, but we're all still safe. Even the pack rats are safe too.
Tigger: (sips some hot chocolate) Say, this ain't half bad! What's in this hot chocolate, Brocko?
Brock: It's a special recipe made from Pewter City. I make it for my brothers and sisters whenever the weather gets really cold.
Misty: (to the pack rats) Feeling better from the rain, little guys?
Pack rats: Uh-huh.
Pack rat #3: Achoo!!
Misty: (giggles) Bless you.
Ash Ketchum: Hey, now that everyone's here, who's up for a movie?
Pooh and his friends: We are!
Pack rats: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Brock: Okie-dokie! I'll go make us some popcorn.
Ash Ketchum: And I'll get some soda and candy.
Misty: But not too much candy, Ash.
Ash Ketchum: Alright, Misty.
Pooh Bear: Uh, do you have any honey bars?
Ash Ketchum: Of course, we do.
Pooh Bear: Well, in that case, can I have some, please?
Misty: (giggles) Okay, Pooh Bear.
-
(Soon, after everyone's houses were cleaned up from the flood as it had subsided, they all gather at Pooh's home to commemorate the pack rats for helping protect everyone's things from getting damaged by the flood.)
Pooh Bear: And so, we are here to congratulate the pack rats for learning that what others have coming is something that should be going. (giggles) In the first place. And this cake is to show our gratitude. (but as he was about to serve cake to everyone, it reveals that it was swiped with a walnut)
Everyone: (gasps)
(The gray and brown rat stare angrily at the red rat.)
Pack Rat #3: Oh! (giggles as he switches the nut and retrieves the cake) Ta-da!!
Ash and his friends: (laughs heartedly and applauds)
Pikachu: Pikachu! (laughs)
(Pooh and his friends applaud as the rats give back the cake and give Pooh the nut.)
Pooh Bear: (gasps) Thank you very much! (giggles) I suppose no one can have too many walnuts.
The End!
