Speed Demon/Transcript

From Pooh’s Adventures Wiki
  • Narrator: The city of Townsville! The happiest, cleanest, safest little town on earth.
  • (As he continues, pull back slowly to show the view framed in the window of Pokey Oaks Kindergarten. Buttercup looks out, her back to the camera.)
  • Narrator: Home of the Powerpuff Girls. And the Professor, the Mayor, Ms. Bellum, Ms. Keane, Talking Dog, Mojo Jojo, and the well-meaning, but often-imperiled, townspeople of Townsville.
  • (Buttercup turns her head suddenly, looking impatiently up o.c.)
  • Buttercup: (thinking) Come on, come on!
  • (Cut to the wall clock, which shows the time as a few minutes before 2:00. A few seconds tick by, and we see a close-up of Buttercup again. The clock face is reflected in her eyes. The clicking of the second hand is greatly magnified.)
  • Ms. Keane: (from o.c.) Buttercup… Buttercup…
  • (Pull back to behind the front desk. Ms. Keane has her back to the camera and her hands on her hips, indicating she's getting impatient with Buttercup not paying attention to the lesson and being more focused on the clock while waiting for class to be dismissed for the weekend.)
  • Ms. Keane: Buttercup!
  • Buttercup: (quickly facing front) Huh?! (Side view of Ms. Keane.)
  • Ms. Keane: Please, pay attention! Now, where was I? (turning to blackboard) Oh, yes.
  • (She writes the equation “1 + 1 = 2” as she continues.)
  • Ms. Keane: If Billy and Sally each had an apple, then that’s two apples. (thinking briefly) Hmmm…but if Billy threw his apple to Sally—
  • (Cut to behind her. She begins to fill the board with equations and figures, growing increasingly engrossed in her work.)
  • Ms. Keane: —at a trajectory of 1.8 meters per second, assuming an Einsteinium universe, the distance between two points remaining constant, space and time being two elements of the same ratio, those elements being the interval between two successive events—
  • (Close-up of her, still working intently.)
  • Ms. Keane: —the quantum rules that govern the subatomic level of the universe—
  • (Cut to a slow pan across the class, the girls in the foreground. Everybody looks absolutely mystified by this show of advanced mathematics and scientific calculations that's way beyond them for even their ages, yet Ms. Keane takes no notice as she keeps going.)
  • Ms. Keane: (from o.c.) —according to Einstein’s theory of relativity, times the unweighted consonatic quantity when approaching the speed of light.
  • (Quick shot of her hand at the board, then pan across it. It is now filled with formulas.)
  • Ms. Keane: (from o.c.) Therefore as one approaches the speed of light, the distance between the two successive points shrinks to zero. However, for the people back home, a considerable amount of time would pass— (Pull back to show her.) —somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty years. Hm.
  • (She chuckles briefly, then realizes that this is completely over the heads of her students and turns away from the board to look sheepishly and embarrassingly at the class.)
  • Ms. Keane: But we’ll cover all that later on. (The bell rings.) Okay, kids, have a nice weekend. (We hear the class cheering.) And don’t forget anything in the coat cupboard.
  • (A herd of kids thunders past her. Cut to just outside the door. Buttercup throws it open.)
  • Buttercup: Free at last!
  • (The kids swarm out. Side view of the door.)
  • Buttercup: (jumping out of the crowd, floating o.c.) Oh, boy, a whole weekend in the Bahamas! I can’t wait!
  • Bubbles: (floating across the screen) I’m gonna lay out and work on my tan! (Pull back; the last kids are leaving. The skyline is seen in the distance.)
  • Blossom: And the whole weekend away from the city of Townsville.
  • Buttercup: And the hotline phone.
  • Bubbles: (mimics Mayor) Hello, Powerpuff Girls, this is Mayor. Get over here right away. I seem to accidentally flushed myself down the toilet!
  • (Blossom and Bubbles laugh in amusement while Buttercup looks cocky. Just then the heroes arrive to pick up the girls.)
  • Pooh Bear: Good afternoon, girls.
  • Girls: Good afternoon, Pooh Bear.
  • Piglet: How was school today, girls?
  • Blossom: Let's just say the day is fine and dandy. Plus, today's math lesson is confusing.
  • Bubbles: I'm glad it's Friday.
  • Rabbit: Now's the time for relaxation.
  • Ash Ketchum: You girls ready for the Bahamas?
  • Buttercup: You betcha, Ash!
  • Misty: We'll all miss you, but it'll be for the weekend.
  • Blossom: Actually, Misty, we all love to have you come along with us.
  • Brock: Really?
  • Bubbles: Yeah, because we love you.
  • Tigger: Aww, shucks.
  • Buttercup: Yep, we would never go anywhere without you guys.
  • Ash Ketchum: What is the Bahamas, anyway?
  • Blossom: Oh, The Bahamas has pristine white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. There are 700 cays and islands to travel by boat, swimming pigs, luxury hotels, snorkeling and diving, sightseeing and stuff.
  • Misty: Oh, excellent, we would love to.
  • Tigger: Gee, this will be the perfect vacation spot. Hoo-hoo!
  • Pooh Bear: This is gonna be so much fun!
  • Ash Ketchum: Cool, what are we waiting for?
  • Brock: I can't wait to see all those beautiful girls on the beach!
  • Buttercup: So, which one of you slowpokes want to race me home?
  • Bubbles: Who are you calling a slowpoke, fat head!
  • Blossom: You guys ready to fly with us?
  • Heroes: Ready!
  • Buttercup: On your mark...
  • Blossom: Get set...
  • Bubbles: Go!
  • Ms. Keane: (waving) Bye, girls.
  • (The girls fly while holding onto the heroes.)
  • Man: Slow down!
  • (The girls fly faster as the heroes hold on. Then they all enter the speed of light but then the camera freezes.)
  • Buttercup: (echoing) I told you I'd win!
  • (Then the funnel depression disappears as girls and heroes land on the ground unaware that the girls' house is now wrecked. Buttercup laughs loudly.)
  • Ash Ketchum: Wow, what a ride!
  • Buttercup: I told you I'd win!
  • Bubbles: You already said that!
  • Buttercup: No, I didn't.
  • Bubbles: And besides you cheated.
  • Buttercup: I didn't have to cheat. I'm just more aerodynamic than you. I don't have big powder puff to slow me down.
  • Pooh Bear; (shaking head) Oh bother. (On the words “powder puffs,” she thumps Bubbles’ hair. A little bit of dust rises from it. That proves to be the last straw as what Bubbles shouts next causes Buttercup to realize too late she took her taunting and teasing too far.)
  • Bubbles: (crying) Professor! Professor! (Cut to inside the lab, darkened, the camera pointing across the room toward the door. The equipment is in a state of disrepair, and there are cobwebs in the corners. The next two lines echo slightly across space.)
  • Bubbles: Professor?
  • Rabbit: Hmm, that's strange the professor is not answering.
  • Brock: Maybe he's down in the lab.
  • Ash Ketchum: Hey, what happened down there?
  • Misty: I don't know, Ash.
  • (The equipment sparks and crackles, clearly having been left to fall into disrepair for some time now and never being fixed or kept up-to-date, and the camera pan along with the room to the far end. In the distance, we can see a work table and the silhouette of a man behind it. Close-up of the corner of the table; a box of sugar and a jar of spice are there, along with a beaker and a few flowers. A cracked voice begins to speak, and as it does, pan slowly along the table to show an old man dressed in rags. He is mixing a concoction in a cauldron and holding a flask of some chemical. We only see him from the shoulders down. His face and head is hidden by the top of the screen.)
  • Professor: Sugar, spice and powered rice? No, no, no, darn! Why didn't I write it down?
  • Pooh Bear: Professor, is that you?
  • Professor: What? Who's there? (adjusts his glasses) No, it can't be! Oh, my mind played tricks on me again! Why won't you all leave me alone?
  • Ash Ketchum: Professor, what's wrong with you? Don't you recognize us?
  • Tigger: Yeah, we're your friends, remember?
  • Professor: No, you're all hallucinations!
  • Blossom: But, Professor, it's us, the Powerpuff girls!
  • Professor: Stay back! Leave me alone! I'm warning you all!
  • (The heroes and the girls quickly rush out panting.)
  • Piglet: Oh, dear, the professor didn't recognize us.
  • Pikachu: Pikachu!
  • Blossom: What is it, Pikachu?
  • (The girls and the heroes gasp upon seeing the whole city destroyed and the sky is blood red.)
  • Pooh Bear: The sky looks red.
  • Piglet: Oh, dear and it's not very pretty.
  • Tigger: Say, what happened here?
  • Rabbit: That's a very good question, Tigger.
  • Ash Ketchum: Who's responsible for this mess?
  • Blossom: We don't know, Ash. But we better look around the city and find out.
  • Brock: Hey, look, guys. The Mayor's office.
  • (The heroes gasp in shock, then the girls and the heroes fly down.)
  • Ms. Bellum: I told him. You know I-I told him to make him call-call the girls, I said. Call the Powerpuff Girls! But, they never came. Why wouldn't they come? It doesn't make any sense. But, It's too late he's gone! (crying)
  • Misty: Ms. Bellum, what's going on here?
  • Blossom: Yeah, what happened here?
  • Ms. Bellum: Huh? Keep away! He's mine! All of you, don't come any closer! He's mine! Mine I tell you all!
  • Tigger: Yikes, let's get out of here!
  • Bubbles: Who could've done this?
  • Piglet: I don't know, Bubbles.
  • Brock: This is crazy the professor and Ms. Bellum don't recognize us just now.
  • Rabbit: Yes, we don't know what's wrong with them. The mayor's not around.
  • Blossom: It's our school.
  • Ash Ketchum: Would Ms. Keane give us answers?
  • Pikachu: Pika?
  • Buttercup: I don't know, Ash. But, we'll see.
  • (The girls and the heroes land onto the ground. Then the school door lands to the ground and they all come in.)
  • Buttercup: Ms. Keane?
  • Ms. Keane: ...waving goodbye. I just stood there waving goodbye, and they raced off.
  • Ash Ketchum: What's wrong with Ms. Keane?
  • Blossom: I don't know, Ash, but we'll ask her.
  • Ms. Keane: Just stood there... just stood there waving goodbye...and they raced off-
  • Blossom: But, Ms. Keane, we're right here.
  • Pooh Bear: Don't you recognize us?
  • (Ms. Keane did not listen she kept saying the same line.)
  • Ms. Keane: And vanished for 50 years. (echoing)
  • Heroes and Girls: (softly, horrified) 50 years?!
  • (Pikachu hears Him laughing.)
  • Pikachu: Pika.
  • Ash Ketchum: What's the matter, Pikachu?
  • (The heroes gasp upon seeing the smoke appear.)
  • Him: (voiceover) Don't you know the faster you go? Time slows down. (Blossom begins sweating) Your time stops to 50 years whilst you're all out racing around.
  • Blossom: I know that voice.
  • Misty: Yeah, it's Him!
  • (Sparks fly from Pikachu's cheeks.)
  • Him: That's right, Misty, Seconds, minutes, hours, days and nights. (Him emerged from the flame) Crawled by hands and knees as you raced the speed of light.
  • Bubbles: (gasps) Look!
  • (The heroes gasp in horror upon seeing Him.)
  • Ash Ketchum: Him, did you do all this?!
  • Him: Yes, Ash. Coming back now, remember?
  • Buttercup: (memory) So, which one of you, slowpokes wants to race me home? No!
  • Him: Yes!
  • Pooh Bear: How did this all happened?
  • Him: Well, Pooh Bear, I'm glad you asked. As you all race through time the whole world went to heck!
  • Piglet: Oh, d-dear!
  • Blossom: You lied! Don't believe him, guys.
  • (The girls fly up to Him, he laughs tauntingly at them as the girls start fighting him and the heroes look on with hope. The girls' tears stream from their eyes and they land a punch which caused him to crash to the ground. Him gets up and snaps his claws at them. The girls continued fighting him as we see newspaper headings, An unharmed Him lies on the ground.)
  • Misty: That's strange, he's not beaten.
  • Him: Are you all finished?
  • Buttercup: No, but you are!
  • Blossom: (panting) Don't you know, you could never beat us?
  • Ash Ketchum: Yeah, especially our Pokemon!
  • Pikachu: Pika!
  • Him: Beat you? (his eyes begin to glow green as he stands up) But, children, don't you all see? (leaps into the air) I've already won!
  • Pooh Bear: Look!
  • Piglet: What's he doing now?
  • (Him's arm turns into black steel and clamps his claw, then his legs thicken,)
  • Tigger: (gasps) Him is getting bigger!
  • (Him's body fades to black with the exception of his grinning mouth and glowing eyes. The heroes look on with horror as Him becomes a demonic version of himself. The lightning cracks across the sky illuminating his new physique. Him now stands many times taller, he now appears stronger and muscular, his hemline and collar is now replaced by fur. The heroes react in horror upon seeing his muscular appearance.)
  • Ash Ketchum: He's even more powerful than ever!
  • Him: (demonic voice) That's right, Ash. The beauty lies in the blame. Because it's your fault for leaving.
  • (The heroes are shocked upon hearing this.)
  • Pooh Bear: What?!
  • Ash Ketchum: What?!
  • Tigger: (sputters) What?!
  • Piglet: What?!
  • Pikachu: Pika?!
  • Brock: Our fault?!
  • Misty: How was this our fault?!
  • Rabbit: (confused) What are you talking about?!
  • Him: Just ask your friends.
  • Citizens: Powerpuff girls and heroes.
  • Man: You did this.
  • Citizens: You did this.
  • Blossom: No.
  • Rabbit: This is impossible!
  • Him: All I did was take over. It was easy! Besides, Rabbit, anything is possible.
  • (Pooh Bear, Tigger, Piglet and Rabbit gulped fearfully. Misty and Brock stare at each other as Azurill whimpers fearfully. Ash and Pikachu are both angered. He growls at Him as Pikachu's cheeks spark with anger.)
  • Ash Ketchum: Pikachu use thunderbolt!
  • (Pikachu attempts to shock Him with his thunderbolt but he is unharmed.)
  • Ash Ketchum: That's weird he can't feel anything at all.
  • Him: I told you, Ash. I've already won.
  • Ash Ketchum: (growls) That's what you think! (punched Him and he winced at the pain of his knuckles) Oww, you're strong.
  • Him: Why, thank you, Ash. You bet I'm strong. (flexing his muscles while showing them to Ash) So kind of you to notice my powerful muscles, my boy.
  • (Him reaches out his claw and picks up Ash holding him into the air which caused him to scream in fright.)
  • Girls and Heroes: Ash!
  • Pikachu: Pika!
  • Bubbles: Is he going to hurt Ash, Misty?
  • Misty: I don't know, Bubbles.
  • Ash Ketchum: What are you doing?!
  • Him: I'm going to explain everything to you, my boy.
  • Ash Ketchum: What do you mean "explain?!"
  • Him: I'll tell you, Ash, I'll tell you about why I destroyed everything while you and your friends among with the girls are gone for 50 years. As you look around you everything has now changed and the whole city is now mine.
  • Ash Ketchum: The sun and the blue sky color is all gone?!
  • Him: Yes, Ash. Not just the whole city but the whole world is now mine. I've also enslaved the citizens of Townsville as well since your disappearance with your friends and the girls all of the despair and sadness from the citizens makes me feel powerful inside and out.
  • Ash Ketchum: That's the reason why the professor, Ms. Bellum and Ms, Keane didn't recognize us?! These aren't the citizens my friends and I know.
  • Him: That's because the beloved citizens you and your friends knew are now gone forever. They are now my slaves, the professor had been exposed as a fraud and The Mayor of Townsville is no longer alive.
  • Ash Ketchum: No! I can't believe all this!
  • Him: (mocking concern) Oh, dear. You're not going to cry, are you, my boy?
  • Ash Ketchum: (growls angrily) No, you evil freak! I'm not gonna cry!
  • Him: (mockingly) I know the bad news hurts very much, my boy. But you and your friends will have to learn to accept the truth from me.
  • (Him puts Ash down to the ground then the girls and the heroes gather around him to hug each other with fear.)
  • Citizens: Why'd you leave us, Powerpuff Girls and heroes? Why? You weren't here to protect us. You weren't here. It's your fault. Your fault.
  • (The citizens keep on chanting "Your fault." The heroes and the girls gotten really scared.)
  • Pooh Bear: This can't be happening.
  • Blossom: What have we done?
  • (Him laughs maniacally as the chant continues.)
  • Buttercup: No! No! No!
  • Ash Ketchum: (covering his ears while yelling) Make it stop!
  • (Ash runs away from the chanting crowd trying to hide and Him follows him as he chuckles evilly.)
  • Him: (tauntingly) I'm coming to get you, Ash!
  • Pikachu: Pika Pika!
  • Rabbit: I can't take it anymore!
  • (Azurill begins crying.)
  • Bubbles: (crying) Why?!
  • Pooh Bear: Oh, dear, they won't stop.
  • Piglet: I'm really scared!
  • Tigger: Me too! I don't like this!
  • (Him finds Ash hiding in one of the ruined buildings.)
  • Him: (cackles evilly) Peek-a-boo! I see you!
  • Ash Ketchum: (screams) Get us out of here!
  • (Ash attempts to run from Him but gets tripped by his foot and he picks up Ash once again. Ash struggles to get out of Him's strong grip.)
  • Ash Ketchum: (straining) Let go of me!
  • Him: (shakes his head) Mmm-mmm. I finally have a chance to finish you off. So, this time you're not going to change anything at all, my boy!
  • Ash Ketchum: (scared) No, Him, don't!
  • Him: (mockingly) Aww, don't you worry, Ash. I'll ease your pain soon enough.
  • [The girls fly up in space, screaming their heads off. They fly back down, scoop everyone up and prepare to fly back to the present time.]
  • Ash Ketchum: Wait! Girls, aren't you forgetting someone?! (Him squeezes him real tight, making it hard for Ash to breathe)
  • Blossom: Huh? (gasps)
  • Ash Ketchum: (reaches out his hand; gasps for air as his skin turns blue) Blossom....! (his eyes roll to the back of his head and he passes out)
  • Blossom: (gasps) Ash! (hands Bubbles Pooh and Piglet) Bubbles, you take Pooh and Piglet! I'll be back! (flies out to get Ash; inhales and blows ice on Him's claw; then she melts one portion of the ice to break Ash free and she flies away with him to rejoin the others)
  • Ash Ketchum: (shivers from Blossom's ice breath) T-T-T-Thanks...
  • Blossom: Sure. Now, let's get out of here! (flies back to the present time)
  • (Ash felt shaken from Him's strong grip while shivering with cold and fear which worried the heroes and the girls, so they went over to comfort him.)
  • Tigger: Ash, you're shaking.
  • Brock: Yeah, you look pretty scared. (gives Ash a blanket to keep him warm)
  • Buttercup: (worried) Are you okay, Ash?
  • Ash Ketchum: (shivering) Yeah, I think so. I'm just cold, that's all.
  • Rabbit: (gently) Shh, you're safe, buddy. (hugs Ash)
  • Blossom: Rabbit's right, Ash. It's over.
  • Bubbles: You'll be okay, Ash.
  • Pikachu: (hugging Ash) Pikachu.
  • Ash Ketchum: (sighs deeply while calming down) You're right.
  • (The girls hug Ash as he hugs back.)
  • Misty: And look, Ash, we're back in the present time.
  • (Cut to a patch of peaceful sky. The girls appear from nowhere and skid to a stop face first in the grass. Blossom is the first to regain her wits. She stands up and looks around herself in puzzlement. Her sisters come around a moment later, and all three gasp, smiling. Above them, the sun shines down on a subdivision that is completely intact. They have managed to travel back in time from the bleak future 50 years from now and arrived back in the present, with Townsville completely intact, unharmed, and not under the control of "Him". The man from the street corner is walking his dog.)
  • Man 1: (waving) Hi, girls.
  • Girls: (flying past) Hi! (They pass Ms. Keane in the schoolyard.)
  • Ms. Keane: (waving) Hi, girls.
  • Girls: (from o.c.) Hi! (They pass the Mayor and Ms. Bellum outside Townsville Hall. Both wave.)
  • Mayor and Ms. Bellum: Hi, girls.
  • Girls: (from o.c.) Hi!
  • (Cut to them in flight and pan quickly to the Professor in the driveway, next to the fully loaded station wagon. He waves to them.)
  • Professor: Hi, gir—
  • (They plow into him and knock him to the ground, talking rapidly about being glad to see him and everybody else as their normal selves after having seen that apocalyptic future caused by "Him". He regards them with some unease. They back off after several seconds.)
  • Professor: Okay, okay, okay. But if we don't hurry, we'll miss our flight to the Bahamas.
  • Rabbit: Sorry, Professor, but I'm afraid our trip to the Bahamas will have to be postponed for a while.
  • Professor: Really? How come?
  • Blossom: It's because we can't leave Townsville.
  • Buttercup: Even for one weekend!
  • Misty: But, don't worry. It'll be another time, Professor.
  • Bubbles: Can you imagine what would happen if we weren't here to protect it?
  • Professor: (laughing) Well, heck if I know.
  • Girls: EXACTLY!
  • Professor: (turns to Ash, concerned) Ash, why are you wearing a blanket? Are you okay, son?
  • Ash Ketchum: Yeah, I was just cold.
  • Professor: You were? Why?
  • Blossom: Well, it's a really long story, Professor. We'll explain it later.
  • (The standard end shot comes up.)
  • Narrator: (old voice) So once again— (normal voice, laughing) Psych! So once again the day is, was, and forever will be saved—thanks to the Powerpuff Girls! (under his breath) I’m never gonna drive over 55 again!
  • [The End]
