Mr. Mojo's Rising/Transcript

Narrator: The City of Townsville...
Bubbles: Rabbit!
(Bubbles flies down as Buttercup smacks her as she smiles meanly. The heroes are annoyed with Buttercup hurting her little sister.)
Rabbit: What's the matter, Bubbles?
Bubbles: Buttercup's hitting me!
Rabbit: Buttercup, are you hurting your sister again?!
Buttercup: I am not! I'm only playing with her!
Rabbit: (sternly) Don't you dare lie, young lady!
Ash Ketchum: Hitting somebody is not the way we play!
Pkachu: Pikachu!
Misty: (picks up Bubbles) Yeah, Buttercup, stop hurting your little sister!
Brock: (picks up Buttercup) Buttercup, that's enough!
Blossom: Girls, stop!
Pooh Bear: Uh, guys, I seem to be having small problems.
Piglet: The professor's gone!
(The girls and heroes gasp)
Girls: Professor?
Bubbles: Where'd he go?
(Ash and Rabbit comfort her as she cries.)
Piglet: Oh, what should we do?
Blossom: Look for clues. Quick!
(Blossom and Buttercup among with the heroes look around the lab while Bubbles sadly picks the pipe but then she's sees a note.)
Bubbles: Hey, guys, come quick!
Pooh Bear: What is it, Bubbles?
Bubbles: Could this be a clue?
Piglet: (gasps) It's a note!
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) Dear, Powerpuff Girls and heroes, i have kidnapped Professor Utonuim! I have taken someplace against his will if you look him in the spots he likes to be, you will not find him! He's with me, but not by choice. I took him and he didn't like it! This message is written by, Mojo Jojo!
Tigger: (gasps) Mojo kidnapped the Professor!
Bubbles: Who could've done this?
Blossom: Let's roll!
(The girls and the heroes go to rescue Professor.)
Narrator: Oh, Mojo Jojo, what are you up to this time?
Professor: Oh, Mojo Jojo, what are you up to this time?
Mojo Jojo: You'll find out soon enough. (hears the girls and the heroes approaching) Oh! In fact you'll find out right about...now!
(The girls crash through the ceiling.)
Rabbit: Release the professor at once!
Tigger: Yeah, brunos, if you hurt the professor there's gonna be trouble!
Pikachu: (angry sparks) Pika!
Mojo Jojo: Why, girls and heroes, I'm insulted. Do you all really think I could hurt my own father?
Pooh Bear: What?!
Piglet: What?!
Rabbit: What?!
Ash Ketchum: What?!
Pikachu: Pika?! ("What?!")
Brock and Misty: What?!
Blossom: What?!
Bubbles: What?!
Professor: What?!
Tigger: (sputters) What?! That's ridiculous!
Buttercup: Yeah, whatcha talking about, Mojo?!
Misty: We want an explanation!
Mojo Jojo: You all want an explanation? I wasn't born a supervillain chimp with a oversize, you know.
(Flashback appears with Mojo as a normal monkey wearing a diaper.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) Evil geniuses are made, not born. (Professor at a mixing bowl) And it was Professor Utonium who made me what I am today. (Mojo peaks over the table) I was once Jojo, the Professor's faithful lab assistant.
(A flashback of Professor hugging Jojo lovingly.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) We are very happy together, until...
(Professor smashed the container of Chemical X that spills into the bowl, then the explosion throws Jojo across the room and we see the girls float above the table.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) You three came along! (we see Jojo's skin turned to green, his eyes changed to pink and his brain exposed) The blast of chemicals that created you also affected me as well. (his brain swells) My simple simian brain began to mutate and grow.
(Jojo reads a volume of quantum physics with other books stacked around him.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) And although the accident had caused an increase in my intelligence-(Blossom holds up the couch while Professor vacuums the floor) I was completely overshadowed by your tremendous physical powers!
(Cut to the lab where Professor works on the glass with the help of Buttercup who is melting the glass with her lasers while Mojo is working on something.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) Next to these superhuman strengths-(he holds up a tinkertoy) My brilliant accomplishments went unnoticed.
(The glass is melted and a saddened Mojo tosses the model away. Then Mojo carries a test tube.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) Plus, there was nothing I could do-(the test tube is whisked out of his hand, Bubbles hands it to Professor)-to compete with your girlish charms
(Professor hugs Bubbles while a dejected Mojo stand by him. Now we see the girls and the professor in the living room laughing in amusement while Mojo who is outside holding a bindle he walks away knowing that he's been neglected.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) I was left with only one choice.
(We Mojo putting on his outfit and his helmet.)
Mojo Jojo: (voiceover) To dedicate my life to crushing you and the world that loves you! It is on that day that Jojo became-(we cut back to the present day) Mojo Jojo!
(The girls and the heroes are shocked upon hearing this.)
Blossom: What?!
Buttercup: What?!
Heroes: What?!
Pikachu: Pika? ("Say what?")
Bubbles: I don't believe it! We had our very own pet monkey?!
Ash Ketchum: Professor, is this true, that Mojo used to be your monkey?
Professor: Well, yes, Ash. I do remember a lab monkey named Jojo but the rest is-
Pooh Bear: What happened then, Professor?
Professor: Well, actually, I don't remember much before my girls brightened my life.
Piglet: That's right.
Rabbit: That was that same night we first met you and the girls.
Tigger: We became friends to Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
Blossom: Yes, that's right, Tigger.
Mojo Jojo: (crying) You see? That's what I'm talking about. It's always the girls. Never poor Jojo.
Professor: Jojo, I feel horrible. If there's some way I could make it up to you.
Mojo Jojo: Well, there is one way.
(Professor is released from the restraints and the girls catch him.)
Mojo Jojo: Give me superpowers like them!
Blossom: What?!
Heroes: (outraged) What?!
Pikachu: Pika? ("What?")
Bubbles: Nuh-uh!
Buttercup: No way!
Professor: Okay.
(The girls gasp.)
Blossom: But, Professor-
Buttercup: He's our worst-
Bubbles: Enemy!
Ash Ketchum: Mojo almost killed me last time.
Misty: Yeah, how could you trust him, Professor Utonuim?!
Professor: Well, Misty, the girls and I have only ourselves to blame. All the gadgets and evil plots are just a desperate cry for help from a little lost monkey, whose only wish is to be an equal member of his poor, neglectful family. Isn't that right, Jojo?
Mojo: Yes.
(The heroes are wary knowing it would be a trick from Mojo.)
Rabbit: A cry for help with evil plots and gadgets, hmph! This is completely nonsense.
Tigger: Yeah, he tricked the girls last time. Now, he's going to trick the professor.
Pikachu: Pika Pikachu.
Professor: Let's get to work.

Mojo Jojo: Father?

Professor: Son?

Ash Ketchum: (annoyed) Are you kidding me?

Buttercup: Oh, brother.

Mojo Jojo: Oh, thank you, father. I was once a vengeful, mad genuis bent on destroying mankind. Well, now I'm a vengeful, mad genius bent on destroying mankind with superpowers!

(The girls and the heroes gasp upon seeing this.)

Ash Ketchum: I knew he was a liar!

Blossom: And I knew he couldn't be trusted!

Rabbit: This no-good monkey won't ever change!

Mojo Jojo: Yes! I have defeated the Powerpuff Girls! The Powerpuff girls are beaten, and it is I by me they are not victorous! With my own two hands, I have defeated them!

(Ash and Pikachu are deeply angered at Mojo.)

Ash Ketchum: (growls angrily) That does it! Pikachu use thunderbolt!

(Pikachu shocks Mojo with his thunderbolt which caused him to yell in pain.)

Mojo Jojo: I see you're not taking so well over my victory. Are you, Ash?

Ash Ketchum: No! You've lied and tricked the professor!

Professor: Mojo Jojo?! (crossing floor to him) Now I remember you! You were the worst lab assistant I ever had! All you ever did was break everything you got your grimy little paws on!

(Cut to his perspective; as he continues, Mojo puts the machine behind his back and smiles nervously, trying to hide that he was still as destructive as he was before his mutation.)

Professor: Oh, you haven’t changed one bit! (Close-up of the recovering girls, the others in the background.) I was finally forced to throw you out when the girls were born! (Back to him.) As a matter of fact…it was that very day!

(Flashback: once again we see him at his mixing bowl.)

Professor: (voice-over) I was busy working on my formula for the perfect little girl. (Close-up next to the bowl and pan across; we see the components.) I had added the three essential ingredients—sugar, spice, and everything nice. (Jojo pops up next to these.) When all of a sudden…

(Pull back; the monkey reaches into view and shoves the Professor.)

Professor: (voice-over) …you pushed me! Which caused me to accidentally smash into a container of Chemical X.

(On the end of this, the handle of his spoon breaks the flask and the contents spill into the pot.)

Professor: (voice-over) Which poured into the perfect-girl formula— (The explosion; he is thrown across the lab.) —causing a giant explosion— (The girls appear; Jojo looks on.) —which resulted in— (Close-up of him in the present.) —the Powerpuff Girls being born!

(Pull back slightly. The girls gather behind him, fully recovered, and a dumbfounded Mojo watches.)

Professor: (smiling) Hey! Well, what do you know? Thanks to your monkeyshines, Mojo, you kinda created the Powerpuff Girls!

Mojo Jojo: (softly) What?? I created the Powerpuff Girls? (Blossom and Bubbles fly into view and lift him up, carrying him along.) I'm responsible for their birth? It was me who caused them to be?

(Cut to Buttercup at the controls; she throws the lever as the Professor watches.)

Mojo Jojo: (from o.c.) I triggered the events that led to their being on this earth?

(A red light marked “REMOVE POWERS” glows. As Mojo continues, cut to him, clamped onto his panel. The machinery revs up again.)

Mojo Jojo: I've dedicated my life to destroying what I had a hand in creating. (A beam sweeps over him.) I created them. It's all my fault.

(The beam washes over the entire screen; when it clears; the girls have hold of the Professor and Mojo is still stunned.)

Mojo Jojo: I did it. It was me… (He repeats this last part over and over again like a mantra of madness under the next lines.)

Pooh Bear: (giggles) I'd say it's time to go.

Professor: I say you're right, Pooh Bear. (to Mojo) Well, Mojo, keep in touch, son.

Blossom: Yeah.

Bubbles: See you around...

Buttercup: Dad.

Tigger: (laughs) Now, this is funny.
