King Triton

King Triton is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Queen Athena) of The Little Mermaid franchise. He is the ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantica and the father of Ariel and her older sisters.

At first, he develops a grudge against Bloom and her friends when he learns Bloom and her friends are not only fairies from the surface world (due to his prejudice against humans), but also helping Ariel go to the surface against his wishes. But later on, he will realize that they are only trying to do what they can to make his daughter happy and not be miserable, and that the human world is not bad as he claimed.

King Triton will meet Aladar, his friends, and his family in Aladar's Adventures of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.
