Insect Inside/Transcript

From Pooh’s Adventures Wiki

Narrator: The city of Townsville, but enough about that.

(Cut to a house in a subdivision. This structure is a rather plain, boxy affair, with a large corner window on the first floor and three round ones on the second. A garage sits off to one side; the front door is bright red.)

Narrator: Here at the Powerpuff Girls’ suburban home is where our story begins.

(A scream shatters the calm; inside, Bubbles is flying down the hall, doing her best to keep ahead of a cockroach scurrying after her. The camera follows her, but she gradually pulls ahead of it.)

Bubbles: Get away! (×6)

Buttercup approaches from behind.)

Buttercup: I’ll get it.

(She throws a punch at the wall, knocking a hole in it but missing the roach. Pan to Bubbles, hovering nearby.)

Bubbles: Did you get it?

(The roach moves into view, and she becomes so scared that her pigtails stand up straight.)

Bubbles: Aaah! (She flies o.s..)

(Buttercup flies up and fires her eye lasers at the wall; she burns up the paint but misses again. She flies o.c. after the roach, and Blossom flies up to inspect the damage.)

Blossom: Uh-oh. (flying o.s.) Girls.

(Cut to the chase: Bubbles fleeing from the roach and screaming, with Buttercup in hot pursuit.)

Bubbles: (shrieks) Squish it! (×5)

(Blossom catches up.)

Blossom: Buttercup, no. It’s just a cockroach.

Buttercup: Shut up, Blossom. It’s gross.

Blossom: It is not!

Bubbles: Is too. (flying o.s., the roach following) Squish it. (×2)

Buttercup: You got it, Bubbles. One squished roach coming up. (She pulls ahead and flies o.s.)

(Blossom stops briefly and groans in disgust, then flies o.s. after her younger sisters, rounding a corner.)

Blossom: Girls, no. (stopping) Ew! Gross!

(Close-up of a man in a white lab coat, with pens in its pocket. He wears a shirt and tie, and his head is impossibly rectangular with carefully parted black hair and thick eyebrows. Blossom addresses herself to him; he has the roach on his palm.)

Tigger: Say, what's going on here?

Misty: Yeah, what is all the — (shrieks in horror and disgust) A bug!!! I hate bugs! Gross!!!

Blossom: Professor, you're touching it!

Buttercup: Oh, not gross, hmm?

Blossom: It's not. I just wouldn't want to touch it. Blech!

Professor: Actually, girls, to him, well you're pretty gross yourselves with your big heads, large eyes, little bodies-

Girls: Okay.

Professor: Sorry. But, remember, guys. It's not right to harm just because it's yucky on the outside. It's the insect inside that's important. Now, who wants to touch it?

(The girls and heroes are grossed out.)

Pooh Bear: I'll pass, Professor.

Piglet: No, thank you, Professor.

Tigger: Yuck! No way!

Misty: Eww! I'm not touching any bugs, ever.

Ash Ketchum: Neither am I.

Rabbit: Don't tempt me, Professor.

Brock: Forget it.

(Meanwhile at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten the hotline rings and Bubbles answers it.)

Bubbles: Hi.

Mayor: Powerpuff Girls?

Bubbles: Bye. (hangs up)

(The hotline rings again and Bubbles answers it again.)

Bubbles: Hi.

Mayor: Emergency!

Bubbles: Bye. (hangs up again and answers it) Hi

Mayor: Get downtown!

Bubbles: Bye.

(Blossom and Buttercup glare at her little sister while the heroes look at her sternly.)

Rabbit: (sternly) Now, Bubbles, the hotline is not a toy.

Misty: The mayor is not playing a game, Bubbles.

Brock: This is seriously an emergency.

(The mayor's office is invested with cockroaches while the mayor struggles to call the girls and Blossom answers the hotline)

Blossom: Yes, Mayor? What?! Gross! Do we have to? Okay. (hangs up)

Pooh Bear: What did the mayor say, Blossom?

Blossom: Something's bugging the town, Pooh Bear! Let's roll!

Piglet: All right!

Tigger: Let's go!

(The girls pick up the heroes and fly to the city then they stop to see the whole city invested with cockroaches.)

Heroes and Girls: Gross!

Misty: Eww, there's cockroaches all over the city!

Buttercup: Yeah, man this is disgusting! These bugs gotta go!

Blossom: Buttercup, no! Stop!

Bubbles: Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross.

Buttercup: Please can we squish them now? Please?

Blossom: Now, Buttercup, remember the professor said not to harm an insect just because it's yucky on the outside. But THIS ONE IS YUCKY ON THE INSIDE!!!

Buttercup: Whoa.

Tigger: Say, what do we have here?

Blossom: He's a robot.

Rabbit: Oh, my word. I can't believe my eyes.

Bubbles: And, look there's an insect inside.

Ash Ketchum: Yeah, an insect controlling the robot.

Pikachu: Pika.

Roach Coach: (squeaky voice) I am not just an insect. I am Roach Coach. I am the future ruler of this planet, you stupid bipeds!

Ash Ketchum: (growls) I'm gonna crush you, you little pipsqueak!

Roach Coach: (scared) Uh-oh.

(Ash is about to crush Roach Coach with his foot but Blossom stopped him.)

Blossom: Hold it, Ash!

Ash Ketchum: Huh?

Blossom: Don't squish him! He may be an insect and all, but he's also a criminal. And everyone has a place in this world. Even criminals.

Misty: Besides. He's no threat to us anymore.

Brock: For he's nothing more than a puny, harmless little insect.

Ash Ketchum: Hm... You know what? I guess you're right. So, instead of squishing you, I'm gonna go easy on you. Can you girls get me a jar, please?

(They fly off then come back with a jar.)

Girls: Here you go!

Ash Ketchum: Thanks. (opens the jar and picks up Roach Coach)

Roach Coach: Hey, let me go!

Ash Ketchum: Not a chance! (drops him in the jar and closes the lid) We'll let you go if you learn to be a little more respectful to mankind!

Roach Coach: And have my reputation ruined? Never!

Ash Ketchum: Suit yourself, because prison is the place for you.

Bubbles: Well said, Ash.

Blossom: Great work, Ash.

Buttercup: Good job, Ash.

(Ash and Buttercup high-five each other.)
