Tod Vulpes is a variant of his The Fox and the Hound counterpart and the leader of the DeltaForce. He is also one of the few known Gunbreakers in the series.

Personality edit

In his more adult-like state, Tod has an affectionate side for those he cares for a lot. His extreme loyalty to those he cares for is shown on various occasions, usually when it comes to defending a friend. This loyalty makes him considered one of the "Pure Hearts," though he isn't afraid to protect himself whenever he's in trouble.

Chronicled Adventures edit

  1. His first branching path began in DeltaForce Prologue - The Case of Roger Rabbit, being his first canonical meeting with Angel and his teamup with Eddie Valiant, a cartoon detective.
  2. After his first set of original adventures, he goes Source Hunting into A.C.'s underground in Angel in Wonderland.
  3. Tod performs an odd team-up in the main timeline during the destruction of Care-A-Lot in A Land Without Feelings. Here, he teams up with Ash and Chihiro in order to restore both timelines back to normal. This is his only known Main Timeline appearance as Angel and Simba are only mentioned.

Trivia edit

  • The Blazefire Saber is the starting Gunblade/Multiweapon Claire "Lightning" Farron uses in Final Fantasy XIII.
  • Outside of the Zettaflare, Tod appears to also know Bahamut's Mega and Gigaflare as condensed beam finishers.
  • This variant of Tod knows his parents' names, at least in his timeline. Daisuke in this case meaning "Big Blessing" and Sakura meaning "Cherry Blossom."

Special Modifiers edit

Tod Vulpes tends to not follow the main adventure formula. Here are some things of note with the DeltaForce variant.

  • Adaptational Madlad: This variation of Tod is capable of not only having Enhanced Senses due to being an Accel (the DeltaForce version of Newtype), but also wielding a Gunblade Mk. II and casting spells. He initially has trouble casting it naturally in some scenes, but he catches on rather fast.
  • Evolutionary Levels: Tod's awakening to an Accel happens in the prologue and constantly builds with his five senses after it's awakened, culminating in finally being able to cast natural magic. It tends to cause an Alertness Blink in some episodes.
  • Gadget Watch: Tod's Magic Band acts as one, being able to track nearby Sources, be used as a Geolocation Map, make calls and texts, and apparently pull a Sailor Moon style transformation into his DeltaForce Agent clothes. It can also store his Gunblade if he doesn't want to use it right away.
  • Goggles Do Something Unusual: Tod's goggles actually are able to track Tod's Life Points and Magic Points in combat as well as the opponent currently locked on. Essentially, when they're down, it's like he's in an Augmented Reality game.
  • Mana: Being able to cast magic spells naturally comes at the price of using his own Magic Energy (or Tension Energy depending on the move used).
  • Rule of Cool: Tod's Gunblade style mimics that of Lightning. Normally it'd be impossible for a fox to use his paws to wield a sword, but he's attacking so fast, it's hard to tell how he always manages a solid grip. (Sliding Scale Factor: 2)
    • Spell Blade: In addition to this, spells are either formed onto the weapon via Magic Cards from Angel or through Elemental Bullets.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: Commonly subverted throughout the DeltaForce episodes, but is justified only on two occasions. A rare exception to the trope being played straight in the Pooh's Adventures canon.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: Well, his mentor is Figment after all.
