Tepig is a Fire-type starter Pokémon. In the anime, Ash Ketchum once owned a Tepig who was unintentionally released from an abusive trainer named Shamus because he believed that Tepig is very weak to keep battling. It eventually evolved into Pignite during its battle against its former trainer.
