Stripes (Winnie the Pooh episode)/Transcript
This is the transcript for the Ash Ketchum and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh episode, Stripes.
Opening/Tigger loses his stripes[edit | edit source]
Rabbit: Ready? NOW!
(Rabbit, Pooh, and Piglet appear out of the bushes and grab Tigger by his hands, feet, and tail)
Tigger: Hey, hey! Unhandle me you guys!
Rabbit: One, two, three!
(They toss Tigger into the air and he falls toward a tub filled with suds and almost falls into it)
Tigger: No, this bouncing Tigger's not touching those bubbles.
Rabbit (struggling to get Tigger into the tub): If you're going to bounce in mud puddles, you're going to take baths!
Tigger becomes afraid of Ash and his friends seeing him stripeless[edit | edit source]
Ash Ketchum: (o.c) Tigger!
Tigger: (gasps) Oh, no! It's Ash and the others! I can't let them see me like this! If they see me without my stripes, who knows what they'll think of me or say about me?
Misty: (o.c.) Tigger, where are you?
Tigger: (panics) Gotta hide! Gotta hide!
Tigger trying to be a rabbit and a bear[edit | edit source]
Tigger: Hup-two-three-fuuurrr! Hup-two-three-fuuurrr! Hup-two-three-fuuurrr! Hup-two-three-fuuurrr!
Bug: (whimpers)
Tigger: Halt! Who crawls there?

Rabbit: (comes running by) Oh, no! You didn't! You did! (attempts to spray the bug, but Tigger blocks his way)
Tigger: Oh, fellow, Rabbit, it's just one hungry, defenseless little bug.
Rabbit: But you don't understand! He'll tell his friends where there's food, and...! (they hear crunching noises) OH, NO!!! (his vegetables are revealed to have been eaten by the bugs) My prize-winning tomatoes!
Bug: (burps)
Rabbit: My b-b-beautiful garden gone! (grabs his sprayer and goes to threaten Tigger with it) Get out! Get out of here, you-you-you pest!! (chases Tigger out of the garden with the sprayer)
Tigger: (sighs sadly) Guess I'm not a rabbit after all.
Pooh Bear: (hums happily while playing with a butterfly)
Tigger: Say, I wonder if I'm a bear.
Painting stripes on Tigger[edit | edit source]
"I don't have a name"[edit | edit source]
Tigger: (spoken) I'm not a Tigger. I'm not a rabbit. I'm not a bear. And I'm sure not a piglet. I'm not anything.
(singing) What is a guy When he's a nothin'? I'm nothin' but stuffin' Ain't even got a name
I know I've changed On the outside But on the inside I feel the same Maybe someday I'll know who I am But for right now... (sniffs) Somehow... (spoken) I don't have a name.
(After a moment of being alone, Ash and his friends come in.)
Ash Ketchum: (offscreen) There you are, Tigger!
Tigger: Huh? (sees Ash, his friends, and Pikachu next to him, gasps and hides behind a bush) Don't look at me, you guys.
Misty: But we've been looking everywhere for you. Where have you been?
Brock: Are you okay?
Tigger: No! Just go away. I don't want you to see me like this.
Ash Ketchum: Come on, Tigger. We need to know what's wrong with you. Now why don't you come out and show yourself?
Pikachu: Pika, Pikachu.
Tigger: Oh, okay. (comes out)
Ash, Misty, and Brock: WHOA!!!
Pikachu: PIKA!!!
Brock: Tigger, what happened?
Misty: You're all naked!
Ash Ketchum: Yeah, where are your stripes? Did you shed your fur or something?
Tigger: No, I didn't shed. Bunny Boy forced me into a bath when I was enjoying myself bouncing into muddy puddles. And then he scrubbed me really hard that resulted in washing away all of my stripes! Even Pooh and Piglet played a small part in Rabbit's scheme of cleaning me, though they never wanted to be a part of it! But to make matters worse, nobody recognizes me as Tigger because I don't have stripes anymore! I tried to be a rabbit, a bear, and a piglet, but none of them worked out smoothly! I even tried painting my stripes back onto me, but that didn't work either! And now, I don't even know what I am nor who I am anymore.

Misty: Are you guys understanding the severity of Tigger's problem?
Brock: Hmm... I think he might be going through a severe identity crisis.
Ash Ketchum: Identity crisis?
Brock: Think about, guys. Besides his bouncing, those stripes were one of the things that helped Tigger remind him of who he is. And now that they're gone, he doesn't know anymore.
-
Eeyore: Hello, Tigger.
Ash Ketchum: Hey, Eeyore.
Misty and Brock: Hello, Eeyore.
Tigger: You know, that's the third time today you called me "Tigger."
Eeyore: Well aren't ya ?
Tigger: No. I don't have any stripes.
Tigger regains his stripes[edit | edit source]
Tigger: Well, what do you know? A stripe! (laughs and bounces) My stripe! I got a stripe! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! (regains most of his stripes)
Piglet: Pooh, do you hear that?
(Pooh gets bounced on by Tigger.)
Tigger: Hiya, Buddy Bear!
Pooh Bear: Oh, hello, Tigger.
Tigger: Ha, ha! He called me Tigger! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Well, Pooh Boy, I got my stripes back. Uh, uh, all except for one.
Misty: Well, there is still one way you can regain your last remaining stripe.
Tigger: Uh, really?
Brock: You can get your own personal revenge on the one who wanted to wash them off of you in the first place.
Tigger: Revenge? (thinks it over until he sees Rabbit nearby) Oh, I see what you mean.
Ash Ketchum: Mm-hmm. Go ahead, Tigger. Do what you're good at so you could regain your last stripe. (quietly) And teach Rabbit a little lesson he'll never forget.
Tigger: Okie dokie! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! (bounces onto Rabbit)
Ash, Misty, and Brock: (laughing heartedly)
Pikachu: Pika! (laughs)
Tigger: (regains his last stripe on the tip of his tail) Thanks, Bunny Boy! Now I'm a Tigger on the outside and a Tigger on the inside too! Well, I've got a lot of bouncing to catch up on.
Pooh Bear: Goodbye, Tigger!
Misty: And look what we have here.
Rabbit: Huh?
Misty: It serves you right for washing away Tigger's stripes, Rabbit!
Ash Ketchum: If you hadn't been so ignorant about the consequences of scrubbing Tigger so hard during his bath, then he would not have suffered an identity crisis in the first place!
Brock: So, consider that as your punishment for what you've done to him!
Rabbit: (grumbles angrily in defeat)
(Tigger continues bouncing until he stops at a mud puddle.)
Tigger: Say, wait a minute. (splashes himself with mud) Ah, that's more like a Tigger. Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! (continues bouncing in mud puddles) T-T-F-N! Ta-ta for now! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
The End!
