== Goodbye may seem forever/Tod's first night in the forest == (The scene changes to Widow's barn Tod explained about the train accident.) Tod: You see, guys, I went over to see Copper, but then he announced that his days with me are officially over since he's an official hunting dog, Chief and the hunter woke up and they went after me. Copper didn't want to see me get killed and he'd let me go this one time and Chief broke his leg after he fell off the tracks. And Copper got mad at me because he thought I was trying to kill Chief. (The heroes are deeply shocked upon hearing this.) Cera: Copper and Mr. Slade believed that you almost killed Chief on purpose, Tod?! Tod: Yes. But I wasn't trying to hurt him. In fact, I had no intention of hurting him at all. I had to dodge the train. It was coming up so fast while I was being chased. I didn't have a choice. But Chief was unable to move. He just stood there and froze. Misty: And they pinned the blame for what had happened to him on you, Tod? That's impossible! Ash Ketchum: How on Earth could they believe in something like that?! It was an accident! Brock: Yeah, that doesn't make any sense! You would never do anything to hurt or kill anyone in a malicious manner, Tod! Never! Littlefoot: And they don't even have any proof about it either! (We cut to Amos' yard where a really angry Amos stalks up to Widow's house as Copper felt guilty for letting Tod go.) Copper: Poor Chief. It's all my fault. (suddenly becomes angry) I should've let Tod go! (Dinky sees the really angry Amos going to Mrs. Tweed's house.) Dinky: (wakes Big Mama up) Big Mama, wake up! Wake up! There's trouble! (Pikachu senses something as his cheeks begin to spark.) Ash Ketchum: What's the matter, Pikachu? Pikachu: Pika! Ash Ketchum: (looks out the window and sees Amos coming) Oh, no. Guys, it's Mr. Slade! Pikachu, go hide and don't let Mr. Slade see you. Pikachu: (agreeing) Pika. (Pikachu finds a safe place to hide.) Daffy Duck: What does that old grump want now?! Bugs Bunny: I think he's coming right at us! (Tod senses that Amos is coming and hides behind the stove.) Widow Tweed: Tod, what is it? (hears a bang on the door) What on earth?! Amos Slade: '''WIDOW! DELIA! GET OUT HERE!''' Widow Tweed: Why, Amos! What are-- Amos Slade: Where are they?! Where are they?! I know they’re in there! Delia: Leave them alone! I’ll call the police! Amos Slade: Never! (Hits Delia) They must all die! Widow Tweed: Now, just a minute! You can't come barging onto my property, Amos Slade! Ash Ketchum: Yeah, leave us alone, or I'll have my Pikachu shock you with his electric attacks! (slams the door in his face) Amos Slade: You and that fox of yours almost killed Chief and I'm gonna get you all! (Mrs. Tweed locks the door, but is suddenly horrified upon hearing that threat) You can't stay locked up forever! (Our heroes look at Tod, who is hiding under Mrs. Tweed's stove, in worry. They all become sad. It has become clear that their fox friend is no longer safe.) Littlefoot: Now, what do we do? Petrie: Oh, me so scared. Ducky: Mr. Slade is really mad. Bugs Bunny: Yeah, he'll never leave Tod alone. Bagheera: I'm afraid he's no longer safe here, everyone. He can't stay here anymore. The more he stays, the more he'll be in danger with that grumpy hunter around. Brock: Guess there's only one best option, guys. Mrs. Tweed, I think it's best you go and.... take Tod somewhere away from here. Widow Tweed: (sighs) You know something, Brock? You're right, I think it is best that I let Tod go into the preserve. (The next day a very sad Widow puts her hat on and she wakes up Tod then he gets up the heroes look on with sadness. The heroes hug Tod then Widow carries him to her truck.) Littlefoot and Ash: (seeing Mrs. Tweed driving off with Tod) Goodbye, Tod... (Ash sighs sadly and goes to rejoin his friends with tears running down his face. As the sobbing Littlefoot was about to do the same, he sees Amos looking at Mrs. Tweed driving away with Tod. He begins to suspect that he might be up to something. As the old hunter goes back into the house, he sees the perfect time to call Petrie for assistance now that the coast is clear.) Littlefoot: (whispers) Psst! Petrie! Petrie, come here! Petrie: (whispers) Yes, Littlefoot? Littlefoot: (whispers) Petrie, I want you to keep a close watch on Mr. Slade. I'm beginning to suspect he's up to something. Whatever it is, I don't like it. Once you find out what he's up to, fly back and warn us. But do it without him knowing that you're there. Petrie: (whispers) Okay, Littlefoot. Me be very careful. (Ash looks out the window crying as his friends comfort him. Delia also comforts her son.) Ash Ketchum: Mom, I'm going to miss Tod so much. (hugging his mom) Delia Ketchum: (gently) I know, honey. But, you and your friends did the right thing to let him go where he'll be safe from Amos. Bagheera: Yes, everything will be all right for Tod, son. The forest is where Tod belongs now. Ash Ketchum: This is all my fault, guys. I never should've let Tod go onto Mr. Slade's property. Bugs Bunny: Ash, don't blame yourself, pal. Tod should've listened to us in the first place. Daffy Duck: Yeah, he just didn't know what would happen. Ash Ketchum: I'd figure Copper is never gonna forgive Tod for Chief's injury last night ever since he's an official hunting dog. Bagheera: I understand what happened last night, Ash. Tod was unaware that he and Copper were supposed to be natural enemies since he's a fox. Foxes are preys to all hunting dogs. (Ash continues crying and Bagheera hugs him in comfort.) (Widow drives into the forest with Tod she began thinking about those memories with him among with the heroes.) Widow Tweed: (thinking) We met, it seems, such a short time ago You looked at me Needing me so Yet from our sadness, our happiness grew And I found out,, I needed you too I remember how we used to play I recall those rainy days The fire's glow, that kept us warm And now I found We're both alone Goodbye may seem forever Farewell is like the end But in my heart's a memory And there, you'll always be. (Hours later, Widow carried Tod to the entrance of the game preserve. Tod affectionately licked her cheek, she removed his collar, and gave him one last hug. Tod attempts to follow her and she silently shook her head as if telling him that it's his new home now. Widow looks at Tod one last time while shedding a tear before driving away. Then the thunder is heard and it began to rain as Tod goes under the tree to keep himself dry. All of the animals go into their homes and one of the squirrels climb onto the tree the water splashed onto Tod which annoys him then he decides to go somewhere else. The porcupine looks at Tod with sympathy upon watching him looking for shelter. Tod attempts to look for a dry spot but finds that was taken by a family of raccoons. Tod then walks away, and as the thunderclap frightens him, he yelps and runs into a den. But unfortunately it belonged to a grumpy, rude badger named Mr. Digger. A scared Tod backed away as an angry Mr. Digger comes out.) Mr. Digger: Hold it, sonny! Back off! Consarn it! Where do you think you're going?! Tod: Oh, excuse me. I-I was just trying to-- (The porcupine comes down to witness Tod getting yelled at by Mr. Digger and looks on with deep sympathy.) Mr. Digger: You barge into somebody's house like you own it! Tarryhootin' around them woods and waking up folks in the middle of the night! Tod: I honestly didn't know anybody lived here. And I'm- Mr. Digger: Well, you know it now. Now get off my property. Go on! Beat it! Porcupine: (to Tod as he backed away from Mr. Digger) I've been watching you, sir. You can stay with me if you want to. Tod: That's very nice of you. Porcupine: Come with me.
