She was originally the Joker's psychiatrist before becoming his accomplice and on and off girlfriend after madly falling in love with him, but eventually struck out on her own. She is often aided in her crimes by her best friend and fellow Arkham Asylum inmate, Poison Ivy. She is the archenemy of Batgirl.
