Charizard

Charizard is a Fire/Flying-type Pokémon and the final evolution of Charmander. In the anime, Ash Ketchum owns a Charizard he obtained when it was a Charmander. But when it evolved into a Charmeleon and then into Charizard, it became very disobedient towards his trainer. However, after healing it and helping it recover, he has earned his trainer's trust and began to obey his trainer like it did before. Ash left Charizard to train in the Charicific Valley where it will become strong and powerful. But later, Ash switched Unfezant to meet Swellow and Staraptor, and he was given his Charizard back, and his Pokémon is to introduce Charizard. Since then, Charizard began residing at Professor Oak's laboratory so that Ash can call upon Charizard whenever he needs it for battles. Link and Pit share using Charizard. He is also the protector of Palutena.

• Spectra Phantom has a Charizard as well, a shiny one that can talk, sounding exactly like and named after his trademark Bakugan, Helios.
• Elsa the Snow Queen also has a Charizard whom she uses in prominent battles and acts as her mode of transportation.
• Charizard can mega evolve into two different forms. When it mega evolves into Mega Charizard X, it changes its type into a Fire/Dragon-type. However, it keeps its original type when it is a Mega Charizard Y.
