==Stromboli Traps Pinocchio in A Birdcage/Jiminy's Unsuccessful Attempt to Free Pinocchio== (Meanwhile, in Stromboli's caravan) *'''Stromboli''': (singing while dining and counting money) I got no strings but I got a brain I buy a new suit and I swing the cane I eat the best and I drink champagne I got no strings on me! (laughs) Bravo, Pinocchio! *'''Pinocchio''': They like me! *'''Stromboli''': (eats some food) Mmm! 200! You are sensational! *'''Pinocchio''': You mean I'm good? *'''Stromboli''': (sighs) 300! You are colossal! *'''Pinocchio''': Does that mean I'm an actor? *'''Stromboli''': (eats an onion) Sure! I will push you in the public's eye! Your face! She will be on everybody's tongue! *'''Pinocchio''': Will she? *'''Stromboli''': Yeah...(sees a fake coin) Huh? What's this? (bites down on it and bends it; he slaps his head and grumbles angrily in Italian; he stops and calms down and gives Pinocchio the fake coin) For you, my little Pinocchio. *'''Pinocchio''': For me? Gee, thanks! I'll run right home and tell my father! *'''Stromboli''': (spits out his wine and coughs) Home? Yeah! Ha, ha! Sure! Going home to your father! (chuckles) Oh, that is very comical! *'''Pinocchio''': You mean it's funny? *'''Stromboli''': (laughs) Sure! Yes! (chuckles) *'''Pinocchio''': (tips his hat) I'll be back in the morning! *'''Stromboli''': Be back in the morning?! (curses in Italian giberish for a moment and grabs Pinocchio) Going home! (he realizes Pinocchio is still listening and joins him in laughing until he throws him in a birdcage) There! This will be your home! (snaps the padlock shut) Where I can find you always! *'''Pinocchio''': (shakes the cage bars) No, no, no! *'''Stromboli''': Yes, yes, yes! To me! You are belonging. We will tour the world. Paris, London, Monte Carlo, Constantinople! *'''Pinocchio''': No, no! *'''Stromboli''': Yes! (slaps his hand on the table) We start tonight! Mmm... (mutters greedily in Italian as he pours all of his money into a sack) You will make lots of money.... (stuffs the sack in his pants) For me! (holds up an axe) And when you are growing too old, you will make good '''FIREWOOD'''! (throws his axe on an old broken puppet and laughs maniacally) *'''Pinocchio''': (shakes the cage bars) Let me out of here! I gotta get out! You can't keep me-! *'''Stromboli''': '''QUIET'''!!! '''SHUT UP'''!!! Before I knock you silly! Goodnight.... (blows a kiss) my little wooden gold mine! (laughs evilly, then walks out and slams the wagon door, blowing out the lantern and making the room completely dark) *'''Pinocchio''': No! No, wait! (shakes the cage bars) Let me out! (shakes his fist in anger) I'll tell my father! *'''Stromboli''': (cracks his whip to his horse) Giddyap! Get along there! (The wagon starts moving) *'''Pinocchio''': Ash! Jiminy! Oh, Ash! Oh, Jiminy! (whistles) Ash, Jiminy! Where are you? (whistles) Ash, Jiminy, help me! (A loud thunderclap is heard and Pinocchio becomes scared; he then breaks down in tears; meanwhile, Jiminy is watching Stromboli driving his caravan away) *'''Jiminy Cricket''': Well, there he goes. Sitting in the lap of luxury, the world at his feet. Oh, well. I can always say, "I knew him when." (hops off and quietly wanders out in the rain) I'll just go out of his life quietly. (he looks back at the caravan but turns to proceed in walking) I would like to wish him luck, though. Sure! Why not? (folds up his umbrella and catches up to the caravan; sneaks in under the door) Pinocchio? Pinocchio? It's me. Your old friend, Jiminy, remember? *'''Pinocchio''': Jiminy! Gee, I'm glad to see ya! *'''Jiminy Cricket''': Pinocchio! What's happened? (hops up to the cage) What did he do to you? *'''Pinocchio''': Oh, he was mad. He said he was gonna push my face in everybody's eye. *'''Jiminy Cricket''': Yeah? *'''Pinocchio''': And just 'cause I'm a goldbrick, he's gonna chop me into firewood! *'''Jiminy Cricket''': Oh, is that so? Now don't you worry, son. I'll have you outta here in no time at all. (he climbs in top the padlock) Why this is just as easy as rolling off a… umph! (climbs inside the padlock and clanks around a bit) Kinda rusty. (clanking resumes) Needs a little oil! (echoes) That's what I said. (tries to loosen the lock, but the spring sends him flying out) Woo-hoo-hoo! (chuckles) Must be one of the old models. *'''Pinocchio''': You mean you can't open it? *'''Jiminy Cricket''': Yeah. Looks pretty hopeless. It'll take a miracle to get us out of here. *'''Pinocchio''': Gee. (Meanwhile Geppetto continues looking for Pinocchio in the rain.) *'''Geppetto''': Pinocchio? Pinocchio! (Suddenly, Stromboli's caravan drives by Geppetto) *'''Stromboli''': Giddy up! (mumbling in Italian) *'''Geppetto''': Pinocch--- (he has been so close to Pinocchio but he doesn't know; thunder and lightning cuts him off)
