==First Day of School/Honest John and Gideon/"Hi Diddle Dee Dee"== (The bell rings and the village starts to come alive with townspeople going out to do their daily activities. Little children are also out playing and heading towards school.) *'''Ash Ketchum''': (exits the shop and stretches; groans) Man, that felt great. And it's a beautiful day too. *'''Pikachu''': Pikachu. (Pinocchio rushes out and he is so excited. Geppetto and Figaro come out as well. Brock and Misty meet up with Ash) *'''Pinocchio''': Oh, look, Father! Look! *'''Geppetto''': (trying to get the little black vest on his son) Now, wait. Stand still now. *'''Pinocchio''': What are those? *'''Misty''': They're children, Pinocchio. *'''Brock''': They're going to be your schoolmates. Both little girls and little boys. *'''Geppetto''': That's right. Uh, no-now, get in-- (puts the black vest on Pinocchio) *'''Pinocchio''': Real boys? *'''Geppetto''': Yes. But hurry now. Oh, oh, wait, wait, wait! Wait. (takes out an apple, brushes it, and gives it to Pinocchio) Here's an apple for your teacher. Now turn around and let me look you over. (Pinocchio turns himself around, which makes everyone laugh) *'''Ash Ketchum''': (feels a tug from Figaro) Hmm? Uh-oh. Almost forgot something. (picks up the book and gives it to Pinocchio) Here you go. *'''Brock''': Now, you be a good little boy and have a fun day at school, Pinocchio. *'''Misty''': And come back home when you're done, okay? *'''Pinocchio''': Okay. *'''Geppetto''': Very good. Run along now. *'''Ash Ketchum''': Yeah, you don't want to be late. (Pinocchio turns and happily skips off to school. Figaro decides to tag along too) *'''Geppetto''': (chuckles) Fig, wait! Come back here, Figaro. (laughs and picks Figaro up) School is not for you. *'''Misty''': (giggles) You silly cat. *'''Pinocchio''': Goodbye, Father! Goodbye, Ash, Misty, and Brock! *'''Geppetto''': Goodbye, son! Hurry back! *'''Brock''': Bye, Pinocchio! *'''Misty''': Have fun! *'''Ash Ketchum''': And be safe! (turns to Geppetto) So, Mr. Geppetto, would you like if we help you out in your shop today? *'''Geppetto''': Certainly. Come right in and I'll help you get started. *(They all head inside as Geppetto hums and dances his way while shutting the door) *(We see children laughing and walking their way to school, and then we see a fox and cat named Honest John and Gideon walking down the street) *Honest John: Ah, Gideon, listen. The merry laughter of little innocent children wending their way to school. Thirst little minds rushing to the fountain of knowledge. (chuckles) School, a noble institution. What would this stupid world be without...(was about to lit his tobacco till he notice the poster of someone named, Stromboli) Well, well, well! Stromboli! So that old rascal's back in town, eh? (laughing) Remember, Giddy, the time I tied strings on you and passed you off as a puppet? (laughs) *(Gideon was like "Oh shucks") *Honest John: We nearly put one over on that old gypsy that time! (laughs) *(As he laughs Pinocchio came skipping by) *Honest John: A little wooden boy. Now, who...(but then realizes with shock) A wooden boy! *(He and Gideon ran after and stalked Pinocchio.) *Honest John: Look, Giddy, look. (they watch Pinocchio skipping) It's amazing. A live puppet without strings. A thing like that ought to be worth a fortune to someone. Now let me see. (then notices) That's it! Stromboli! Why, that-that old faker would give his... Listen. If we play our cards right, we'll be on easy street or my name isn't Honest John. Quick! We'll head him off. *(Honest John and Gideon continued to stalk Pinocchio then Gideon attempts to follow Pinocchio by skipping happily holding a flower pot but gets yanked by Honest John.) *Honest John: Shh. Now's our... (sees Gideon holding his mallet preparing to whack Pinocchio) No, no, stupid. Don't be crude. (whacks him on the head) Let me handle this. Here he comes. (holds out his cane) Ah, yes, Giddy, as I was saying to the duchess only yesterday. (Pinocchio tripped over the cane) Oh! Oh, how clumsy of me. Oh, my, my, my, my. (clicking tongue) Oh, I'm terribly sorry. (Gideon dusts Pinocchio's rear end) Oh, I do hope you're not injured. *Pinocchio: I'm all right. (Gideon attempts to steal from Pinocchio's pocket) *Honest John: Ah, splendid. (whacks Gideon in the head with his cane) Well, well. (eats Pinocchio's apple and looks at Pinocchio's school book) Quite the scholar, I see. Look, Giddy, a man of letters. (chuckles) Here's your book. *Pinocchio: I'm going to school. *Honest John: School! (Pinocchio leaves but get's pulled back) Ah, yes. Then you haven't heard of easy road to success. *Pinocchio: Uh-uh. *Honest John: No? I'm speaking, my boy, of the theater. Here's your apple. Bright lights, music, applause. Fame. *Pinocchio: Fame? *Honest John: Yes! And with that personality, that profile, that physique... Why he's a natural born actor, eh, Giddy? *Pinocchio: But I'm going... *Honest John: Straight to the top. Why, I can see your name in lights, lights six feet high. Uh, what is your name? *Pinocchio: Pinocchio. *Honest John: Pinocchio! P-I-N-U-O...P-I... We're wasting precious time. Come. On to the theater! *(He and Gideon escorts Pinocchio as he began to sing.) *Honest John: (singing) Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee. An actor's life for me! A high silk hat a watch of gold with a diamond chain Hi-Diddle-Dee-Day. An actor's life is gay It's great to be a celebrity an actor's life for me. (he hums as he, Pinocchio and Gideon walk around the tree) Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dum. An actor's life is fun. *(Meanwhile Jiminy runs as he puts his hat, coat on.) *Jiminy Cricket: Phew! Fine conscience I turned out to be. Late the first day. Oh, well. He can't get much trouble between here in school. (just then he hears Honest John hum) Oh, boy! A parade! *(He happily dances along) *Honest John and Pinocchio: (singing) Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee. An actor's life for me. *Jiminy Cricket: (becomes surprised) Huh? (sees Pinocchio with Honest John and Gideon) *Honest John: (singing) A waxed moustache and a beaver coat A pony cart and a billy goat Hi-Diddle-Diddle-Dee-Dum An actor's life is fun *Jiminy Cricket: Why, it's Pinoke! Hey, where you going? *Honest John: You wear your head in a pompadour! (Jiminy Cricket: Wait!) You ride around in a coach with four You stop and buy out in a candy store (Jiminy Cricket: Halt!) An actor's life for me. (Jiminy Cricket: Hold on there, Pinoke!) Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee An actor's life for me. (Jiminy jumps onto Honest John's head) With clothes that come from the finest shop (Jiminy Cricket: (whispers) Hey, Pinoke!) with lots of peanuts and soda pop- (Jiminy Cricket: (yells) Hey! (whistles) (surprised) What was that? *Pinocchio: Oh, it's Jiminy! (to Jiminy) Whatcha doing up there? *Honest John: Huh, who, what Jiminy? What where? *Jiminy Cricket: (to Gideon) Shh! *Honest John: (chuckles) Why, my boy. You must be seeing things. *Pinocchio: Oh, no. That's my conscience, he- *(Gideon pulls out his mallet.) *Honest John: Now, now, just calm down and why there's nothing up there to be afraid of. *(Jiminy sees Gideon with a mallet who's about to squish him then instantly jumps off. Gideon accientally hits Honst John in the head.) *Honest John: Oh! *(Gideon felt shocked upon seeing his partner's head stuck inside his head then he gives the mallet to Pinocchio in attempt to act innocent. Honest John struggles to get his hat off his head.) *Jiminy Cricket: Psst! (whistles) Pinoke! Psst! (whistles) Pinoke! Over here! (whispers) Over here! *Pinocchio: (excitedly) Oh, Jiminy! i'm going to be an actor! *Jiminy Cricket: All right, son. Take it easy now. Remember what I said about temptation? *Pinocchio: Uh-huh. *Jiminy Cricket: Well, that's him. *Pinocchio: Oh, no, Jiminy. That's Mr. Honest John. *Jiminy Cricket: (shocked) Honest John?! (Honest John still struggles to get his hat off.) Honest John: (muffled) Get this thing off! (Gideon opens Honest John's hat) (shouting) Get me outta here! (Gideon whacks Honest John in the head really hard which sends him flying to the puddle. He groans and then he shakes the mud off him, sniffing in annoyance.) Jiminy Cricket: All right, here's what you'll do, you can't go to the theater. Say "Thank you" just the same "You're sorry" but you've got go to school. Pinocchio: (nods) Mmm-hmm. Honest John: Pinocchio! Oh, Pinocchio! Hoo-hoo! Jiminy Cricket: Here they come, Pinoke. Now, you tell them. Honest John: Whoo-hoo! Oh, little boy. Ah, there you are! Now, where were we? Oh, yes. On to the theater. Pinocchio: Bye, Jiminy! Bye! Jiminy Cricket: (mumbles) Goodbye? (shocked upon seeing him go with Honest John and Gideon) Huh? "Goodbye?!" Hey, Pinoke, you can't-- There he goes. Oh, what I'll do? I'll run and tell his father, then Ash and his friends. No, that'd be snitching. I'll go after him myself. (Jiminy follows Pinocchio then the camera fades to black.)
