Ash Ketchum Meets Bambi II/Transcript

From Pooh’s Adventures Wiki

Opening/Ash and friends comfort Bambi[edit | edit source]

[Taking place in the middle of the original "Bambi", the film opens with the scene where Bambi is wandering the forest for his mother, not realizing she has been killed by Man.]

  • Bambi: Mother! Mother! Mo– *gasps*

[Bambi is surprised to see the Great Prince of the Forest standing in the middle of a blizzard.]

  • Great Prince of the Forest: Your mother can't be with you any more. Come.

[The Great Prince leads Bambi back to his den under a fallen tree.]

  • Great Prince: Friend Owl.
  • Friend Owl: Excuse me, sir, I– hope I'm not intruding, but– well, I– I just had to come. Poor little fellow. So young to be without his mother. Well, if I can be of any help–
  • Great Prince: Wait! I could use your help. Find me a suitable doe to raise Bambi.
  • Friend Owl: Oh, oh, yes. Of course, yes. Food's so scarce. Does can barely feed themselves. Perhaps you could–
  • Great Prince: Me? You know as well as I do, a prince looks after the herd. Does care for the young.
  • Friend Owl: But you are his father, and circumstances being what they are–
  • Great Prince: *sighs* Until spring.
  • Friend Owl: Oh, excellent, heh. After all, who better to raise the young prince than the Great Prince himself?

There is Life[edit | edit source]

  • Alison Krauss: Under the snow, beneath the frozen streams

There is life You have to know

When nature sleeps, she dreams

There is life

And the colder the winter, the warmer the spring

The deeper the sorrow, the more our hearts sing

Even when you can't see it

lnside everything There is life

After the rain, the sun will reappear

There is life

After the pain, the joy will still be here

There is life

For it's out of the darkness that we learn to see

And out of the silence that songs come to be

And all that we dream of awaits patiently

There is life

Groundhog day/Meeting Ronno[edit | edit source]

[Bambi wakes up late.]

  • Great Prince: Ahem.
  • Bambi: Good morning.
  • Great Prince: Bambi, a prince awakens before the forest does. If you're late again, I'll have no choice but to– [Bambi's stomach growls.] What was that?
  • Bambi: What was what? [Bambi's stomach growls again.] I guess it was my stomach.
  • Great Prince: Then you should eat. Oh, well– I suppose I should find you something to eat. Here.
  • Bambi: Urgh. No, thank you.
  • Great Prince: Have you ever tried it?
  • Bambi: Well, no.
  • Great Prince: Then how do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it? [Bambi eats a root with reluctance.] Hm?
  • Bambi: Mm! Mm-hm! Urgh!
  • Great Prince: Come along. We have to check on the other deer in the South Wood.
  • Bambi: Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Whoo-hoo!
  • Great Prince: Bam– Bambi! A prince does not "whoo-hoo".
  • Bambi: He doesn't?
  • Great Prince: He certainly does not. A prince maintains control at all times. Display dignity. Walk with pride.
  • Bambi: Argh! Who-o-o-a! I'm okay! Oh! Oh! Cold! Cold! One, two– Two– Two– Argh!

[Bambi and the Great Prince go to the forest to check on a herd of deer grazing in the distance.]

  • Bambi: Whoa! Don't you think it'd be better if we got a little closer?
  • Great Prince: The distance makes it easier to spot danger.
  • Bambi: Hm. But it sure makes it harder to play with them. Play is a healthy part of a young deer's development.
  • Great Prince: Is that so?
  • Bambi: Mm-hm. Mother says so. One time, Mother and I were out in the meadow–
  • Great Prince: Bambi.
  • Bambi: And this fawn came over and wanted to play–
  • Great Prince: Bambi! I think it's best to leave the past in the past. A prince does not look back, only ahead.
  • Bambi: Oh. Yes, sir.
  • Great Prince: Now, come. We still have a lot of ground to cover today. Don't fall behind.
  • Bambi: Thumper!
  • Thumper: Bambi! Boy, am I glad to see you.
  • Bambi: What's wrong?
  • Thumper: They've been after me all morning.
  • Bambi: Who has?
  • Thumper's Sisters: [in the distance] Oh, big brother!
  • Thumper: It's them!
  • Thumper's Sisters: *giggle*
  • Thumper's Sister 1: Hello, young prince.
  • Thumper's Sisters 2 and 3: Hello, young prince.
  • Bambi: Oh. Hello.
  • Thumper's Sister 2: Have you seen Thumper around?
  • Bambi: Uh-uh.
  • Thumper's Sister 1: *gasps* I think he's over there. Look, look.
  • Thumper's Sisters: *giggle*
  • Thumper's Sister 1: Oh, okay. I guess we will be leaving, then.
  • Thumper's Sister 3: Gotcha!
  • Thumper: Argh!
  • Thumper's Sisters: *giggle*
  • Thumper's Sister 1: Mama says you're gonna take us to see the groundhog.
  • Thumper's Sister 3: What she says goes.
  • Thumper: Well, she's not the boss of me. If I don't want to, Mama can't make me. Hi, Mama.
  • Mrs. Hare: What did your father tell you?
  • Thumper: 'Bout what?
  • Mrs. Hare: About playing with your sisters.
  • Thumper: Oh, that one. A family that plays together, um– stays together– even if it means taking your dumb sisters.
  • Great Prince: Bambi!
  • Bambi: Coming! I gotta go.
  • Thumper: But you can't go, you can't leave me with the girls!
  • Thumper's Sister 3: Come on, Thumper. You gotta take us to see the groundhog.
  • Great Prince: Why don't you go with your friends to see the groundhog?
  • Bambi: But I want to stay with you.
  • Great Prince: Yes, well– *sighs* I have to check on the South Meadow, and it's very far. You go see the groundhog. I'll meet you there later.
  • Bambi: Oh, okay. I'll meet ya. Hey, Thumper, wait for me!
  • Thumper's Sisters: You sit by me! No, no!
  • Thumper: QUIET! Um– First one there's who I sit by!
  • Thumper's Sisters: Hooray! It's gonna be me! Uh-uh, it's gonna be me!
  • Thumper: Sheesh. I'm sure glad your father let you come.
  • Bambi: Oh, uh– he understands. He-he and I are best pals.
  • Flower: *snores*
  • Thumper: Wake up, Flower. Wake up. Come on, Flower. You're gonna miss the groundhog.
  • Flower: Gosh, I hope the groundhog sees his shadow, so I can get back to hibernating.
  • Friend Owl: Attention, everyone, attention. Everybody, gather round. We'll be starting in just a few moments, yes. Now, there's plenty of room. Ma'am, could you just scoot over one? Very nice. Oh, the young prince. This is a special occasion.
  • Thumper's Sisters: *giggle*
  • Thumper's Sister 1: We decided we'll all sit by you.
  • Thumper: *sighs*
  • Friend Owl: Greetings, greetings. *clears throat* Each year we gather round to watch the groundhog emerge from his winter slumber, for if he sees his shadow–
  • Thumper's Sister 2: It means more winter!
  • Friend Owl: Yes. But if he doesn't?
  • Thumper's Sister 3: Spring is on its way!
  • Thumper's Sisters: *giggle*
  • Friend Owl: Yes. Now, without any further interruptions–
  • Thumper's Sisters: *gasp*
  • Friend Owl: *clears throat* The groundhog! The groundhog!
  • Thumper: Where's the groundhog?
  • Thumper's Sisters: Groundhog! Groundhog! Groundhog! Groundhog! Groundhog! Groundhog! Groundhog!
  • Friend Owl: Now, what seems to be the problem?
  • Groundhog: I'm afraid to go out there. I'll see my shadow.
  • Friend Owl: Well, that's entirely the point, isn't it?
  • Groundhog: I don't care.
  • Friend Owl: Oh. Must we go through this every year?
  • Bambi, Flower, Thumper & Thumper's Sisters: *laugh*

[Bambi reacquaints with Faline.]

  • Faline: Hello, Bambi.
  • Bambi: Hi, Faline.
  • Faline: I almost didn't recognize you.
  • Bambi: Really? I, I guess it's because my spots are almost gone. Er, and my antlers are coming in too. Can you see 'em?
  • Faline: [skeptical] Erm– well–

[Thumper pops in between Faline and Bambi.]

  • Thumper: I don't see anything! [Bambi glares.] Well, I don't.
  • Friend Owl: Whoa! Oh, well, yes. The groundhog!
  • Groundhog: Oh, why me? Oh, this is the last year– My nerves just can't take it any more–
  • Thumper's Sister 1: *gasps* I see his shadow.
  • Thumper: More winter.
  • Flower: Mm, more hibernating.
  • Groundhog: No shadow, no shadow– Please, no shadow– Please don't let there be a shadow– Please don't let there be a shadow– No shadow. No shadow! Oh, spring is here. Spring is here!
  • Animals: *cheer*
  • Groundhog: ♪ Oh, let's sing a gay little spring song. Let's get together and sing. ♪
  • Faline, Bambi, Flower, Thumper & Thumper's Sisters: ♪ Fa la la, roll de ay, twit twit awee– ♪
  • Friend Owl: Ugh, that song–
  • Groundhog: Oh, I'll never be frightened again!

[Ronno gets up in the groundhog's face.]

  • Ronno: Boo!

[The groundhog utterly freaks out and runs around in a panic. He dives back into his hole.]

  • Ronno: *laughing, snorts* It looks like I scared the shadow right out of him. Did you see the look on his– Hey! Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey! Where's everybody going? Forest on fire?
  • Thumper's Sisters: *whimper*
  • Faline: Who are you?
  • Ronno: Name's Ronno, and these are the boys: Stab and Jab.
  • Faline: Well, I hope the three of you have a nice day.
  • Ronno: I wouldn't go that way if I were you. That's where I saw a Man.
  • Thumper, Flower, Bambi & Faline: *gasp*
  • Bambi: You saw a Man?
  • Ronno: Uh-huh. There I was, out in the meadow. Suddenly, I heard this voice luring me in. "I'm here, I'm here." See, Man's got this stick that can make his voice sound like one of us. But I'm way too smart for that, so I crept up on him, real quiet– Then bam! I knocked him out with my trusty antlers.
  • Flower and Thumper: *giggle*
  • Faline: That's quite a story.
  • Ronno: Oh, you think so?
  • Faline: Mm-hm. It's unbelievable.
  • Bambi: Yeah. Unbelievable.
  • Ronno: You calling me a liar?
  • Bambi: No. No.
  • Ronno: You wanna spar, do ya?
  • Bambi: Uh, no!
  • Thumper: Clobber him, Bambi. Whoa!
  • Ronno: Bambi? Isn't that a girl's name? *laughs* Come on. Let's go. Just a little, friendly competition.
  • Ronno's mother: Ronno!
  • Ronno: Coming, Mother.
  • Faline: Yeah. Maybe you should get going.
  • Ronno: Jeez, I was only playing around with him. Isn't that right, Bambi?
  • Ronno's mother: Ronno!
  • Ronno: I'm coming!! MA! How many times do I have to tell ya? Don't bother me when I'm trying to make new friends!
  • Ronno's mother: Sorry, dear.
  • Thumper: You big mama's boy! Why don't you run home to your mama?! You big old mama's boy!
  • Mrs. Hare: [from offscreen] Thumper!
  • Thumper: Coming, Mama. Gotta go. See ya, Bambi.
  • Mrs. Hare: So tell me, what did the groundhog see?
  • Flower: See you, Bambi.
  • Faline: Do you want us to walk you home?
  • Bambi: No. My father's coming for me.
  • Faline: Well, it was nice to see you again, Bambi.

Bambi's dream/The Great Prince scolds Bambi[edit | edit source]

Thumper and Flower teaching Bambi about bravery[edit | edit source]

The den.

Yeah. Yeah, good idea.

I'll stay and guard the den.

Hey, Bambi.

What's wrong? Nothing.

Come on. You can tell your bestest friend.

  • Bambi: Well, my father never takes me with him any more. I guess I'm not what a prince's son is supposed to be. If I could just show him.
  • Flower: Show him what?
  • Bambi: That I can be brave like him.
  • Thumper: If that's all it is, being brave is easy. I can teach you.
  • Bambi: You can?
  • Thumper :Sure. Watch this.

I think he's got a hairball.

No, I'm being brave, silly.

The trick is to be scarier than whatever's scaring you. See?

You look like a squirrel.

  • Flower: Watch me! (growls but accidentally farts on a plant)
  • Thumper and Bambi: EWW!!
  • Heroes: EWW!!
  • Thumper: Flower! You just found your inner strength.
  • Flower: Oh, gosh!
  • Thumper: Okay. Now, stand very straight.

(Bambi stands straight)

  • Thumper: Stick out your chest.

(Bambi sticks out his chest)

  • Thumper: Take the deepest breath you ever took in your whole life.

Now let it out with a big grr.

You're gonna need a lot of practice.

Come on. Do what I do. I'm a mountain lion.

I'm a bear.

I'm a turtle.

What? Turtles are so scary.

Come on. You can do it.

Come on, watch this.

Yeah, that's it. Come on. Try it again.

Yeah. That was good.

Come on, come on!

Yeah, that's it.

Watch this.

See? There's nothing to it. All it takes is one good grrr.

Porcupine!

  • Ash Ketchum: Who was this cranky old guy anyway?
  • Great Prince: That was a porcupine he's grumpy and rude and I wouldn't interact with him if I were you.
  • Shaggy: Like, what's his problem?
  • Great Prince: He hates visitors, so watch out for him.

Great Prince and Bambi bonding[edit | edit source]

Great Prince: Who's got who? (blows a raspberry onto Bambi's stomach)

Meeting Mena/Bambi argues with his father[edit | edit source]

Great Prince:

Bambi, a prince does not...

Bambi:

That's all your care about, not about me!

Great Prince:

Don't you speak to me..!

Bambi:

I WISH MOTHER WAS HERE INSTEAD OF YOU!!

Friend Owl:

Oh, my, my, my. Well, I've certainly made muddle of things.

Great Prince:

No, this is my fault. Bambi needs a mother. A prince should NOT be raising a child!
