Ash and Ron had a rocky start initially since they both thought they had nothing in common. Ash was initially annoyed with Ron's rude arrogant attitude. After saving Amy from drowning, Ron apologized to Ash and Pikachu for his rude behavior so they could become friends during their shrunken adventure. Ron became surprised upon learning that Ash was into camping just like him, and, they both realized that they both have so common. Ron was amazed that Ash and his friends had camped lots of times during their adventures. As their friendship grew Ron decided to invite Ash, Pooh Bear, and their friends on a camping trip with him and his father. After Antie died. Ash and Pikachu comforted Ron as they mourned his death that was caused by a scorpion. After being returned to their normal size, Ron introduced Ash and others to his parents. Ron and Ash enjoyed their time together at camp.
