Destiny was already a well-known acquaintance to Ash and initially was one of the few other than Scarlet, Doctor Gold or Colonel White willing to trust him after his initial possession by the Mysterons when most of his classmates were certain he would try to kill them again. Much like other Spectrum personal, he is close friends with Destiny, though it wouldn't be until the Season 2 episodes [[Virus (AAoNCS)|Virus]] and [[Enigma (AAoNCS)|Enigma]] when he would come to view her as an older sister. In the latter episode's ending after the Mysterons gave false hope to Ash and Scarlet that they could change the past so the war of nerves would never start, Ash was utterly devastated after previously going through motions throughout [[Ash's Adventures of New Captain Scarlet]] on questioning if he was even still real. Although his friends would try to console him, it would be Destiny who would finally snap him out of it by reminding him that he isn't the only one that has gone through similar motions (though she does sympathize that a child should never have had to go through what the Mysterons did to him at the start of the series) and that he's still responsible for his own free will still being alive.
