When Ash first met Rudolph, Rudolph thought he was gonna make fun of him because of his nose. Once Rudolph got to know him a bit more however, Ash became a good friend to him. During the encounters with the snow monster, Rudolph was deeply amazed at how Ash risked everything to protect him, even if it costed him his own life. Thankfully Ash was healed after those encounters.
