Mrs. Tweed serves as a grandmother figure towards Ash and his friends. Ash among with his friends were saddened to learn that Mrs. Tweed's husband passed away, she felt pleased for bringing baby Tod to raise him, Mrs. Tweed cautioned Ash and his friends to watch out for Amos Slade since he was grumpy. Mrs. Tweed comforts a nervous Ash who frets about Amos threatening to shoot Pikachu after Tod. Towards the end, Ash, Littlefoot, and their friends revealed to her that the reason why Amos is always so grumpy is because he has a family that's twice as big as hers and he misses them very much since they live far away. And because of that, he didn't have the money to go see them as much as he used to due to his poverty problems. To prove it, they show her a picture of his family and they gave Amos a bus ticket so he can have his lifelong chance of visiting his family once again. That kind gesture made her so emotionally that she had never seen her grouchy neighbor so happy before. With that, she promises to be a better neighbor to him and find a way to help him with his money problems while he can still go out hunting.
