Ash first met Vixey when he and Littlefoot were talking with Tod for the final time towards the end. He and Littlefoot apologized to her for dragging her into their situation and they didn't mean to put her life in danger. They explain to her the truth behind Tod's strange connections to the hound dog, Copper: They've been best friends since they were puppies, and they didn't know they're supposed to be enemies. But because Amos trained Copper into becoming a hound dog during the winter, their friendship was nearly torn apart. And one night, Tod was falsely accused for supposedly hurting Chief when he got hit by a train. But in reality, it was just an accident. The boys ended the conversation by saying that they were only trying to be peacemakers and wanted to make Copper and Amos stop the senseless violence, so the bloodshed won't happen. Vixey, feeling sympathetic towards them and their team, humbly says to them that she understands. She tells them that Tod had told her everything about Copper and she was grateful for their efforts in calming him down. She then thanks them for saving her and for saving Tod.
