Ash met P.J. when Max introduced him when he and his dad, Pete, were out camping. But sadly, Ash never had the chance to get to know P.J. because of Bigfoot scaring him and his father off. In the sequel, he got to know P.J. a bit more when he and the gang accompanied Max and Bobby to college so they could compete in the X-Games. Later on, in the climax of the film, P.J., along with Max and Bobby, assisted Ash and the gang in saving Serena from Bradley Uppercrust III after she got kidnapped and held hostage at his fraternity house as part of Bowser's evil plans, despite being knocked out of the race.
