When he met her, he really hated her because she was trying to get rid of all cutie marks. When she revealed her backstory to him, he and his Pikachu felt sorry that her friend Sunburst got the cutie mark instead of her. After she finally changed her life the two began to share a bond and became friends forever. In [[Team Robot In Pokémon XY The Series]], Starlight appeared to have studied Ash's past Pokémon and their powers. During the battle against Lysandre and Team Flare, she knew that Ash's Kalos team were going to get knocked out in an instant. In a desperate attempt to help her friend, she quickly teleported herself to Professor Oak's laboratory in the Kanto region and recruited some of Ash's strongest Pokémon that were being kept there: Pignite, Krookodile, Staraptor, Sceptile, and Infernape. With their help, Starlight teleported them to the Kalos region and assisted Ash in the final battle.
