Ash and his friends met Scar when Mufasa greeted them as guests to the Pridelands. However, he wasn't very friendly towards them due to the fact that he was jealous of Simba being the next heir of Pride Rock. But when the stampede happened and Mufasa got killed, Scar inadvertently revealed his true nature when he lies to Simba and places blame for his father's death on the devastated cub. This caused Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu to turn against him and leave Pride Rock for his treachery, but not before vowing that his crimes will be exposed to the pride someday. Scar refused to believe in their words after he took over the throne. But their prediction eventually came true as his arrogance the best of him when he revealed to Simba that he killed Mufasa in the midst of his gloating. Scar's evil tyranny came to an end when the hyenas and Team Rocket turned against him after overhearing him trying to pin the blame for his crimes out of cowardice.
