== Team Rocket and the Hyenas inform Scar/Under the Stars ==
{The camera switches to a far view of Pride Rock. Almost all of the coloring is in gray. Most of the plants and trees appear to be dead. We can hear Zazu's first line and then the scene switches to a view of Zazu and Scar. Zazu is in a cage made of some animal's ribcage, singing forlornly. Scar is laying out on a rock picking his teeth with a bone.}

* '''Scar''': Oh Zazu, do lighten up. {He tosses the bone at Zazu and it clatters against the cage} Sing something with a little... bounce in it.

* '''Scar''': {Interrupting, almost shouting} No! No. Anything but that!

{Thinks, then holds up a feather as a tune comes to him.} I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts (diddly-dee-dee) 

There they are a-standing in a row... {Scar is enjoying this and starts to join in}

{Scar shoves his muzzle between the ribs of Zazu's cage on the last line. His breath blows Zazu up against the wall.}

{The hyenas and Team Rocket start out but then pause}

{They run off; Ed lets loose a crazy laugh}

{The camera switches to a view of the jungle. We hear a monstrous belch reverberate across the landscape. The camera switches to Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, Togepi, Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba lying on their backs looking at the stars.}

* '''Timon''': Whoa. Nice one, Simba.
* '''Simba''': Thanks. 
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Oh man, I'm stuffed.
* '''Pikachu:''' Pika (Me too.)
* '''Pumbaa''': Me three. I ate like a pig.
* '''Simba''': Pumbaa - you are a pig.
* '''Pumbaa''': Oh. Right.
* '''Misty:''' Yeah, that was delicious. Right, Togepi?
* '''Togepi:''' chirps in agreement)
* '''Timon:''' I have to admit Brock, you are a great cook.
* '''Brock:''' Thanks, Timon. But there's nothing better than just get a chance to relax lying down under the stars toggether.

{All of them sigh deeply, in unison. Gentle music fades in.}

* '''Timon''': They're fireflies. Fireflies that uh... got stuck up on that big... bluish-black... thing.
* '''Pumbaa''': Oh. Gee. I always thought that they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away.
* '''Timon''': Pumbaa, wit you, everything's gas.
* '''Pumbaa''': Ash, what do you think?
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Well, I don't think about fireflies up there. But lay down like this you get connect the stars so you can tell which Pokémon is up there.

(Connecting the stars seeing the shape looking like an Onix.)

* '''Ash Ketchum:''' (offscreen) It looks like an Onix.
* '''Brock:''' (offscreen) Yeah that's right.
* '''Misty:''' Hey, connect those two bright ones to the ones down over there.

(Connecting the stars shape looking like Pikachu.)

* '''Ash Ketchum:''' (offscreen) Wow, it's Pikachu!
* '''Misty:''' (offsceen) Yeah.
* '''Pumbaa:''' You guys sure know a lot about Pokémon.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Yeah, Pokémon are really wonderful creatures. And let's say a certain friend of mine show me how to connect the stars that night.

* '''Brock:''' I wonder how he's doing.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Well I hope he's doing well. Maybe we'll run into him again someday.

{Cue "Lea Halalela" theme.}

* '''Simba''': {Reluctantly} Well, somebody once told me that the great kings of the past are up there, watching over us.

* '''Timon''': You mean a bunch of royal dead guys are watchin’ us? {tries to keep composure, then...} Pbbb.

{Timon breaks out laughing. Pumbaa joins in. Simba does half-heartedly.}

* '''Timon''': Who told you somethin’ like that? What mook made that up?
* '''Simba''': Yeah. Pretty dumb, huh?
* '''Timon''': Aw, you're killin’ me, Simba.

{The music rises again. Simba looks back up at the stars. He quietly gets up and leaves.}

* '''Timon''': Was it somethin’ I said?

{The music continues. Simba walks out on a ledge and looks up at the stars. Ash catches up to him.}

* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Hey, they didn't mean to make you feel bad Simba. Honest they didn't
* '''Simba:''' That's okay. I was just thinking that's all.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' About your father?
* '''Simba:''' (sighs) Yeah. I just wish we could've saved him on time.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' (feels bad for him) Yeah, me too. But you know what? Your father reminded me a lot like my father. When I was a young boy, he and I used to do so many things together. But when he left me and mom on his own journey, I haven't heard from him ever since.
* '''Simba:''' Really? Do you miss your father?
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' (thinks about it for a bit and nods his head) Yeah, I do. I really do. But being on a journey with Pikachu, and my friends really did change me a lot when I started to become a Pokémon trainer. But later, I became the World Champion. And yet, I'm still aiming to become a Pokémon Master. And you know? Maybe someday, Pikachu and I are gonna find him and, perhaps, have a Pokémon battle with him. Right, buddy?
* '''Pikachu:''' Pikachu!
* '''Simba:''' Yeah, but it's not easy. (thought of something) What about your mother? I'll bet she worries you whenever you're on your journey.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Yeah, she worries. I guess. Maybe that's just what moms do.
* '''Simba:''' (chuckles warmly) Yeah. (sighs sadly)
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' Look, I just wanted you to know that me and my friends are here for you. In case you want to talk about it.
* '''Simba:''' Thanks, but I think it's best that I'd rather need some time alone.
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' I understand. Take as much time as you want. Don't stay out here too late.
* '''Simba:''' Sure.

(Ash walks away to give Simba some alone time. Ash looks back at Simba with a sad face and thinks about what Scar did to Mufasa.)

* '''Pikachu:''' (concern) Pika?
* '''Ash Ketchum:''' It's okay, Pikachu. Simba just needs some time to himself. He'll figure out the truth on what Scar did to his father soon enough. Mufasa's counting on us. I know he is. Believe me. I know.

{After Ash and Pikachu left. Simba collapses to lay on the edge of the ledge. Milkweed floss is stirred into the air by his flop. The camera follows its path. It crosses the desert. Next we see Rafiki's hand snatch some it out of the air. He sniffs it, grunts, and bounds down into his tree. He pours the milkweed into a turtle shell, sifts it around, and then eats from the same kind of fruit he anointed Simba and Ash with. Examining the milkweed floss again, realization dawns on his face.}

* '''Rafiki''': Simba? Ash? They're- They're alive? He he- They're alive! {He laughs}

{Rafiki grabs his staff. Laughing in delight, he picks up some paint and puts a mane on the smeared lion image on the wall.}

* '''Rafiki''': It is time!
